- Cayden Arborea says, "Greetings."
- Basil says, "Hello."
- Cayden Arborea asks, "Have you gotten the message I passed from Basten?"
- There's only a tilt of his head to that.
- "No..?"
- (Basil)
- Nodding his head, he went straight to the point.
- "Previously, I was asked to pass on this message. I managed to deliver it to Mars so far."
- "Osrona's been defeated, and with it? So has our grudge against them for what they had done to the Rhoynur."
- Humming thoughtfully once, that was the message, but it wasn't everything.
- "Besides that, I was also asked by him to pass the word to you about what happened in Myllenoris recently if you don't know about it yet."
- (Cayden Arborea)
- "Ah. That."
- Truthfully, he didn't agree with the notion at all, but.. if Ilburg decided to pull out from the war, that's on them; regardless, he only shakes his head.
- "He didn't say that it's your message. He said that it's just what Ilburg is going to do. I thought there's something else, but.."
- "He can do him, I suppose."
- "In my opinion, stalemate is not only going to be terribly boring, but it will allow Osrona to recover - and then continue what it was doing previously. People don't learn from that, unless they've been crushed for good." A pause, to which he adds.
- "And what about Myllenoris?"
- (Basil)
- "Not my message, it was his. I'm the Messenger, but it seems he got to you before me, I actually had some trouble finding you or Mars before."
- With a shrug, he simply moved on to the matter of Myllenoris.
- "As for Myllenoris. It seems that Serea, who if I remember correctly is their Lightbringer was killed by Sythaeryn and a Knight, Siegfried, was killed by Ro. Some shit went down it seems."
- "I didn't get all the details, but I was also told that Asta doesn't plan on putting Marie on the Throne of Osrona, that she wants Teraphim to rule all over Esshar and that she'll likely put a Teraphim at Osrona's Throne if she can."
- Remembering the scene, and one other person worthy of mention.
- "It seems Finley also turned on Asta during all that, and challenged her to a Spirit's Witness. He also yelled at her that she knew there were no Witches in Ilburg in the past... expected, but it's nice she started War for her own reasons, serves as confirmation."
- (Cayden Arborea)
- It doesn't seem as if any of this surprises Basil.
- Truthfully, that's exactly what he's waiting for - Myllenoris to crush Osrona, and then to attack Myllenoris while they're weakened and stuck with infighting due to Asta's decisions. So while Cayden explains all of this..
- There's only a smile.
- Because it works just as Basil expected to.
- She's not the only cunning leader. If anything, Basil is a patient spider.. one that awaits for the perfect opportunity to strike his foe - to the point that they would not be able to recover from the bite at all.
- "Thank you for telling this."
- That's the only verbal response given, however- for while Basil was carefully planning his next move.. this only made it clear that he's doing the right thing here.
- "Troubling news.. very troubling.."
- "But I'm sure there'll be something else around soon enough."
- Where does that confidence come from? Whether Cayden suspects anything or not is entirely different thing, but..
- "Would there be anything else you wanted to tell?"
- (Basil)
- Cayden might seem like a simple minded brute to some people, not completely untrue, but even him can take note of a few things, specially ever since he started to spend more time around Basten.
- So when that smile appeared on Basil's face, he already came up with a small speculation of things they could be doing. One thing was for sure though, obvious to him, Alabastre was biding it's time and waiting for something.
- With a shake of his head, he simply moved to leave.
- "No, that was everything. I'll be taking my leave then, thank you for listening."
- (Cayden Arborea)
- All according to years of planning and careful action.
- In a sense, it's much akin to a Domino effect - where one actions prompts another, and another, and another.. until it all unfolds into something much greater. Truthfully, he expected it to be something that he would not be able to live through to see, but..
- Whatever the case, whether Asta wins this final battle or not? It doesn't matter. She already weakened her own structure enough to see that it would fall soon.
- "And thank you for telling."
- Because it was useful..
- Oh so useful.
- (Basil)
