- After removing three responses for not answering any of the verification questions, there was a total of 140 responses to the poll that passed verification.
- The following players have been CUT due to not receiving enough Keep votes to surpass other options:
- - She's a Flinger (Yeah) (she's off the roster (yeah))
- - You Should Kill Yourself... NOW! (killed himself, elegy in progress, mom in shambles)
- - Delpipi (all frowns)
- The following players will be ADDED due to receiving more Add votes than other options:
- - Asky Wasky (the asky is luved)
- - Mooseless (she'll be mooseful!)
- - Pink Dog (namie's daughter has returned)
- For name-related changes, Cutest Daughter will remain Kal'tsit's name with 47 votes, LappGOD will become Lappland's name again with 57 votes, Out of Control will become Endspeaker's name with 30 votes, Land Dwellers will become Ulpianus's name with 43 votes, and Nyo Byuffs will remain Rosmontis's name with 60 votes. For model-related changes, Evil Woman will now be represented by Arturia/Virtuosa instead of Eblana, getting 45 votes, and the Chinky Doragons stack of beans will not be changing order and will be sticking with order of release (Nian on bottom, Dusk, Ling, Chongyue, Shu on top) with 89 votes.
- Line-up and positioning has changed to a degree. Doctor and Amiya continue to be the Gold medals, while Lappland and the Sui beans continue to hold onto their Silver medals. However, with Wis'adel having been firmly booted from the team entirely, Kal'tsit will replace her as the third Silver medal, the first time she's had one since VGL18.
- Thus, /akg/'s updated roster for VGL23 is as follows, ordered from most popular to least popular:
- - ZERO SANITY
- - Donkey
- - Chinky Doragons
- - LappGOD
- - Cutest Daughter
- - C E O B E
- - Nyo Byuffs
- - The Tyrant
- - Skadoo
- - WageGOD
- - BLOCK CERO
- - Platato
- - Wakata
- - The Best
- - A FUCKING JERBOA
- - This ___ Belongs to Ursus
- - Evil Woman
- - Out of Control
- - Asky Wasky
- - Land Dwellers
- - Mooseless
- - Pink Dog
- - BLEMISHED
- Here's your usual list of factoids and trivia bits about the player poll stuff:
- > ZERO SANITY got the most Remove votes he's ever gotten before: 11. Donkey got 13 Remove votes. Both got more Remove votes than in the previous poll, but Doctor had a bigger jump (7 to 11) while Amiya's was tiny (12 to 13).
- > BLOCK CERO received the least amount of Keep votes she's ever gotten, 99. She was also the only starting player that had a double digit Keep vote total, everybody else had at least 100.
- > Wis'adel and Logos both got booted from the team pretty handily, with She's a Flinger (Yeah) being the only player completely even on votes (70 Keep, 70 Remove) and You Should Kill Yourself... NOW! receiving more Remove votes than Keep votes (61 Keep, 79 Remove). Unfortunate considering they're being released on Global in two days, but oh well.
- > The cut-off for getting on the roster was once again very close. Vivianna and GoldenGlow both got 74 Add votes, one vote above Blemishine, who managed to once again just barely stick around with 73 Keep votes. Just below her were Theresa with 72 Add votes, Priestess with 71 Add votes, and the aforementioned Wis'adel with the 70/70 split.
- > Beyond She's A Flinger (Yeah) being the only Keep/Remove tie, there were a ton of other ties, including Asky Wasky and Land Dwellers (76/64), Mooseless andPink Dog (74/66), WE WUZ TEEKAZ/>skip and Crownjobber (66/74), Reservepipis, Chenfromarknights, and Nyarturia (64/76), Abyssal Hunter Megazord and hehe pinus (57/83), Cutest Cripple and doko (56/84), Delpipi and Best Friend Blaze (55/85), Take This Rat and Pon! (45/95), Pedowolf and Pepepipi (26/114), and Young Master and Caper Needs Correction (18/122).
- > Weirdly, the same thing that happened with Virtuosa last time happened this time with Theresis, where his two name options were tied as well, both receiving 33 Add votes. Like with Virtuosa last time, however, he got 74 Don't Add votes, making it meaningless.
- > These weren't ties but there were some pretty close results for the current player name/model changes, too. LappGOD beat Lapipi by 4 votes, Out of Control beat HELL YEAH also by 4 votes, Arturia beat Eblana to represent Evil Woman by 4 votes, and Land Dwellers only beat Ulpipi the ___ by a single vote.
- > People seem relatively settled on the roster considering there were only 2-4 additions to the roster this time (depends on if you view a model change and a returning player as "new" or not), and none of them got enough positive votes to be in the Starting XI. We tried putting every potential new player in their own section instead of lumping all single-name options into one big list to see if it would counteract the previous poll's occurrence of none of them getting more Add votes than Don't Add votes, but it didn't really seem to matter in this instance.
- > The least popular cut player from the roster was Delpipi with 85 Remove votes. And you could argue she was replaced by Ascalon, a Sarkaz... the cat might view it as an injustice.
- > The least popular potential new players were Young Master and Caper Needs Correction with 122 Don't Add votes. The least popular potential new player that's had a shot at the roster before was Horn Puns with 117 Don't Add votes. I'm betting some of you are curious about a couple others, so I'll say that Pepe got 114 Don't Add votes, Vulpisfoglia got 87 Don't Add votes (one less than her daughter, actually), and Mandragora got 81 Don't Add votes.
- Music Updates:
- The music has once again changed, but only one of the songs. Broken Sun received first place and becomes the new regular anthem, with the still-powerful Stultifer Cantus getting second place once again, Civilight Eterna and the I Portatori Dei Velluti PV music tying for third, and the incumbent Telescope only getting fifth. The goalhorn remains unchanged with You Can Be Good Enough! handily beating everything else, Operation Pyrite taking second and Signore dei Lupi taking third again. The victory anthem also remains the same, Misty Memory (Night) taking first over Telescope in second place and Unmask (the Lappland MV) in third place.
- Ball Update:
- In what was perhaps the most divided result on this entire poll, the ball will now be Ch'orb with 38 votes. To illustrate how close this was, Originite Prime got 35 votes, RMA-70-24 got 34 votes, and Crownslayer got 33 votes.
- Verification Questions:
- - People are rather divided on whether Babel Doctor was in the right or not, but the majority turned out to be "Yes", with 69 people insisting that Doctor did nothing wrong, he's never made a mistake in his life, and he'd fucking do it again. 54 people answered some variation of "No", saying that Doctor was a bitch, he should've sided with Theresa and that pinks deserve love, and also fuck Priestess in particular. There were also 17 filthy neutrals who either didn't read the event, waffled with "it depends", or were comedians by saying "no he was in the left :)".
- - There was a wide variance in words used to fill in the blank of "/akg/ ___". 49 of them were negative in nature, with 17 of saying "/akg/ sucks", 4 saying "/akg/ lost", and 9 saying "wrong" or ">said". 4 stated /akg/ can't read, while 15 were general complaints about /akg/ like it isn't going to make it, it's lazy, it never changes, it isn't as good as /lcg/ apparently, and it "will complain about divegrass polls being bad because their favourite op and song didn't get in as always". On the flip side, 45 of responses were positive generally, with 13 using "WON" or "was right", 12 saying "LOVE", 4 citing "friends", 4 saying "cute", 3 saying "bros...", and 9 talking about sex in one way or another. 12 people cited /akg/ loving specific characters, 9 people thought themselves clever by saying some variation of "- Arknights General". 3 said "pipis", 2 said "doko", 1 said "wakata". Finally, 16 people were relatively random, talking about things like banana councils, sandwiches, Dragon Ball collabs, and "the social jungle".
- - I guess it's a tradition to ask who the current worst 6* is every three VGLs. For the inaugural VGL14 poll it was Skadi. For VGL17's poll it was Passenger. For VGLXX's poll it was Rosmontis (technically). Now, for VGL23's poll, the current worst 6* is... Vigil, with 28 people picking him. He was either first or second place last time depending on how you looked at it, but this time he has definitively been determined to be the worst 6* now. Second place was Lessing with 15 votes, solidifying a disdain for twinks. Third place was Rosmontis (the IS module doesn't count), fourth place was Silence the Paradigmatic with 12, fifth place was Siege with 11, and sixth place was a tie between Fartooth and "your wife", both with 7. 6 people also cited "your favorite", 3 people said Wis'adel, 2 people said Lee because they find him disgusting, 2 people said "me", and 1 person confusingly said "MY WIFE". Shout-outs to the person who went on a long tirade about humilitation play concerning Vivianna, the four people insisting "there are no bad operators, only bad doctors", and the two people trying to stand up for Vigil and the one person wanting people to leave Lessing alone.
- Thanks to everyone who responded to the poll, the support and interest is as palpable and appreciated as always. VGL23 doesn't have set dates yet but will be starting at some point late in November. Info on the actual dates, the draw, /akg/'s opponents, and so on and so forth will come when they're available and known. The managers as per usual are around to answer your questions and share information on how the team is progressing before everything starts. They've also been handed the contents of the suggestion box and can comment on that if you're curious or want something addressed specifically. In any case, that's it for now, see you all in around a month or so, and remember to make fun of anyone who insisted the scarred eye in the Telescope PV was supposed to be an Irene Alt and not Lappland.
