  1. [19:30] Rindou takes a proper seat, watching the man starting to prepare the tea and waiting until he is sat to speak. The subject she tackled is quite a difficult one.
  2.
  3. "You do not seem to agree with Lord Shogun's cruel way. Is that correct?"
  4. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [19:30] Calael E. Kang says, "I haven't agreed with his ways since we were kids. It's no secret I keep from him."
  8. [19:30] Sima Kang says, "I wouldn't-- One second."
  9. [19:30] Sima Kang says, "I wouldn't-- One second."
  10. [19:31] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Then perhaps-"
  11. [19:31] Rindou Sakamoto says, "..."
  12. [19:31] Sima Kang says, "Uh... Sorry if I'm interruptin' at all dad-- Just a brief message 'n such--"
  13. [19:31] Calael E. Kang asks, "Ah?"
  14. [19:32] Rindou turned to look at Sima. Her gaze alone delivers the message for her.
  15.
  16. Are you annoying on purpose?
  17. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  18. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19.
  20. [19:32] Sima Kang whispers something.
  21. [19:32] Calael E. Kang whispers something.
  22. [19:33] The younger Kang shoots a gaze back towards the noble, flashing a meek smile. He remembered what was said those years ago and all.
  23.
  24. "Right-- Right uh... I'll head on back out. Again, apologies 'n all!" With that said he'd attempt to back on out of the lighthouse, closing the iron gate behind him.
  25. (Sima Kang)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [19:33] Calael E. Kang says, "No worries."
  29. [19:33] Calael E. Kang says, "Anyway..."
  30. [19:34] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I believe I should share my thoughts, then."
  31. [19:34] Calael E. Kang says, "Go on."
  32. [19:34] Rindou Sakamoto says, "As he is currently, Isaac Shimasu cannot be stopped without a proper force rebelling against him."
  33. [19:34] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Until Lady Reito sees the error of his ways, I don't think it's a good idea."
  34. [19:35] Rindou Sakamoto says, "... I hope she will finally see the error of his ways."
  35. [19:35] Rindou Sakamoto says, "That being said, Lord Shogun has given the Fourfold Army the explicit order to kill anyone who has fled Dusk after the war, whether it is provoked or not."
  36. [19:36] Calael E. Kang says, "Mm... if you're asking me to help with a rebellion within the city, I can't... exactly support that at the moment. Levengard has lost one of its leaders. We're trying to get back on our own two feets after this conflict."
  37. [19:36] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Furthermore, the one candidate for Regency currently wishes to abolish democracy, only allowing people who would vote for him to vote."
  38. [19:36] Calael E. Kang asks, "Who is the candidate?"
  39. [19:36] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Ichida Rikiya."
  40. [19:37] Rindou Sakamoto says, "He demeans, insults, and attempts to take away freedom from those who disagree with him."
  41. [19:38] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Should he be elected, Huangzhou will fall under Lord Shogun's rule even further."
  42. [19:38] Calael E. Kang says, "Can't say I know the name. But... my poitn stands. The voting system did not exist when I lived in Huangzhou. The politics were a mess. There was almost a rebellion back then even. I left the cit."
  43. [19:38] Calael E. Kang says, "City."
  44. [19:38] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I am not asking you to aid in a rebellion, Calael."
  45. [19:39] Rindou Sakamoto says, "But sacrificing Agartha's future for your dreams of securing a spire is..."
  46. [19:39] Calael E. Kang says, "Then what is it you're here to say? That Isaac lacks kindness, compassion, care for his fellow people? That he is consistently violent and volatile? Ruthless? I have known these things all my life. I have said them to others, and they propogated his career until he seized military control."
  47. [19:39] Rindou finally frowned like a normal person - not in a way that showed superiority or anything, no, more like an angry young girl who wasn't taking any of it.
  48.
  49. "It's dumb."
  50. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [19:39] Calael E. Kang says, "I'm giving Agartha a newer future."
  54. [19:39] Calael E. Kang says, "Not sacrificing it."
  55. [19:39] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Sharing spire shards with Isaac Shimasu is a mistake."
  56. [19:39] Calael E. Kang says, "Obviously."
  57. [19:40] Rindou Sakamoto asks, "What is your plan, then?"
  58. [19:40] Calael E. Kang says, "If you believe I'm going to actually allow him the opportunity to grab something that he could burn the world with, you're wrong."
  59. [19:40] Calael E. Kang says, "I didn't tell Isaac, and I can't exactly tell you."
  60. [19:40] Calael E. Kang says, "I intend to fix this world."
  61. [19:40] Calael E. Kang says, "I'll leave it at that."
  62. [19:41] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I'm not sure if I can trust you, Calael. Not without a proper plan of action."
  63. [19:41] Calael E. Kang says, "You are not a member of my Keepers."
  64. [19:41] Calael E. Kang says, "They trust me, and know what we are after."
  65. [19:42] Calael E. Kang says, "If you wish to stop Isaac? Then stop him. Gather your forces and instate a new power."
  66. [19:42] Rindou Sakamoto says, "People I'd rather see alive have almost died already over Isaac's lust for power."
  67. [19:42] Calael E. Kang says, "Then don't face him alone."
  68. [19:42] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I already know that."
  69. [19:42] Calael E. Kang says, "So much goes wrong on this world because people are so afraid to make a real difference."
  70. [19:42] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I don't plan to face him alone."
  71. [19:42] Rindou Sakamoto says, "..."
  72. [19:43] Calael E. Kang says, "If you think your city is turning into something you'd rather it not see? Then do what you must to alter its course."
  73. [19:49] Rindou fell silent for a moment, looking down towards the table for a few seconds as those words echoed within her mind.
  74.
  75. [...] people are so afraid to make a real difference.
  76.
  77. The young noblewoman couldn't help but be hooked upon those words. This lack of courage was what made her step in front of Caira rather than step forward with her. Courage was what made her warn Isaac of Sigfried in order to gain his trust rather than warn the young man of the danger he faced by going to Huangzhou. Thus far she had struck first, but never with enough courage to make a difference - never had she wielded her holy might in a way that changed the world.
  78.
  79. Offense is the best defense.
  80.
  81. "Then so be it." She finally said. Her right hand reached for the blade at her hip, drawing it out as she stood up from her seat. The long, crimson weapon bore the scent of blood and wielded the memories of worse, savage days from itsprevious owner; yet the woman who wielded it was radiating with a holy light, an amber gaze more serious than ever directed towards the angel-blooded.
  82.
  83. "Tell me how you intend to keep away power from Isaac Shimasu, or I'll have to beat it out of you."
  84.
  85. To protect others in a way that no other did. Pretending to be nice, to enjoy most people's presence and to care for them was not her style; actions gave results.
  86. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [19:58] Cal was still, apparently he felt entirely unthreatened by the blade pointed at him and the demands the girl made. He blinked his golden eyes and sipped what was hot chocolate in front of him instead of the tea he had given Rindou. "Is this how you expect to do diplomacy? With swords drawn?" The demiangel pat the large tome on his back. "I don't handle real weapons. You asked for tea and a talk, so that's what we're going to do. If only because you condemned Siegfried to his current Hel."
  90.
  91. He said it casually, something that he probably shouldn't have known. Cal cared for the boy, and now Isaac had him in his clutches to torment and hurt. It would take some time to fix Siegfried, if 'fix' could even be used.
  92.
  93. "I don't imagine he'll have much say in things once I accomplish what I want. We'll be gathering what resources we can and storing them here until the expedition is complete. Isaac will be awaiting his payment and I will have completed my goal. Or we'll die trying. The latter is far more likely, Rindou Sakamoto, so in all honest, there is nothing to really be worried about." The demiangel sighed and held his steaming mug in both hands.
  94.
  95. "If only you were quicker to draw your blade on your Shogun with these feelings you have. Instead you were turn it on me. Might I suggest something? Consider who you're speaking with before you draw your weapon, in really any instance. Whether it's a fight or a talk like this one. It almost always causes and immediate and violent reaction, and those hardly ever go well."
  96. (Calael E. Kang)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [19:59] Calael E. Kang says, "But I'm not a liar. If he helps all the way, Isaac will get his pay. If you don't want that to happen? Then put someone else in charge of Huangzhou's military."
  100. [20:00] Calael E. Kang says, "I need the man power and resources he has to offer. And as much as I dislike him, I know Isaac. I know who he is and what he'll do, and I know that out there, he's just as much of an ally as he was when we fought Dusk together."
  101. [20:10] The fact he knew about Siegfried didn't shake her too much. For all she knew Isaac had spoken of her before she caught wind of that coversation. Calael's goals remained in the shadows, however, and that wouldn't be allowed. Especially not when he put the responsability of overthrowing the Shogun on her shoulder alone. That brought an angry scowl to her face.
  102.
  103. "If you truly intend to give this man the power he wants just for helping you complete your goal - no matter what it is - then you are as much of a problem as he is, Calael Kang."
  104.
  105. Her hand gripped onto the obsidian handle a bit more tightly, as if she was getting ready to strike, to actually hurt someone who could be a potential ally towards a better Agartha.
  106.
  107. "If you want to keep your secrets, fine. But even dare to pay that man in the power he needs to raze the land, and I'll ensure that you survive your great ordeal just so that I can..."
  108.
  109. Kill you. Hurt you. Make you watch the destruction.
  110.
  111. All of these were not right - even if she was upset at him, she couldn't bring herself to actually say any of those things. They disgusted her. While her blade was drawn and it was true that violence often came from such a gesture, this was her way to protect and defend. The way she had decided to adopt, as foolish as it was.
  112.
  113. "... force you to bring him down with the rest of us."
  114.
  115. This was the only punishment she thought was acceptable for Calael, even after having more or less volunteered herself to go on a deadly expedition if only to make sure the Shogun wouldn't rise form it.
  116.
  117. Make no mistake, young winged one, she is still angry.
  118.
  119. A shallow cut with the tip of her blade scratched the surface of the man's cheek, not even enough to draw blood, but far more than enough to send a violent, aggressive message. A plea for comraderie when the worst comes. The Will of the Reaper was sheathed, and Rindou stood up.
  120.
  121. "Tea is better with a slice of lemon. It's not wonder Sima is such a pig." She said, finally seeming, sounding, and looking sophisticated like she should.
  122. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  123. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  124.
  125. [20:17] Cal knew the blade would touch him without deadly or even dangerous intent, and so he didn't flinch when the metal came into contact with his cheek. In fact, as soon as it left it, he simply sipped from his mug again, almost entirely disinterested in the conversation. "You have enough fire in you to make a change. I really do think it's a pity you're wasting it here, yelling at me."
  126.
  127. "I'll do what I must. I'll likely die. I've seen enough of this world to know that my end will be nothing more than a rest from this... chaos. This pain. It's why I am determined to fulfill this final goal, or let it be the place I finally pass on."
  128.
  129. Cal stood and motioned for the gates. "I expect you'll leave now that you've come into my home, threatened me, and called my son a pig." It was spoken more as an order than a question. "And I expect I'll hear nothing but submission from the Fourfold in Huangzhou, despite this revelation that you're so unhappy with how things are run."
  130.
  131. Cal stopped as he gathered up the cups and was walking them to the back office. "Then again, maybe I'll be surprised for once."
  132.
  133. He continued on, believing that was where the conversation would end.
  134. (Calael E. Kang)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [20:18] Rindou Sakamoto says, "... I hope not."
  138. [20:18] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Lady Reito is the key."
