Alien- Killing Charge

  Paul keeps running. He doesn’t seem to realize what kind of danger he’s in. The creature makes a low clicking noise, the sound seeming to resonate through that long, curved head. Then it moves.

  I’ve never seen anything move this fast. In an instant, I know that I’ve seen it before, as a blur on the screen before my father died: maybe not this specific creature, but one very much like it. I want to hate it, but I can’t find my way past my fear.

  Paul doesn’t stand a chance. The creature slams into him, knocking him over. He has time to scream, and then it’s over, and there’s blood on the grass, blood that the grass drinks greedily down, as it drinks everything else it finds.

  I vomit again. I’m not letting him drive, but the thought of having him behind me with an actual weapon is almost as disturbing as the constantly recurring image of Paul’s broken, gutted body.
