Oil

"Fanny, could you grab the flint and oil from the bag?"

"Hang on."

She pulled out the flint and bottle of oil from the leather bag. The oil was sourced from a well deep within Starwood Forest. It was burnable liquid that had been stored in the well. She splashed it on the tree and struck the flint for a spark to start a fire.

The fire roared and engulfed the tree in the blink of an eye.

The tree slowly bent and broke as it burned, and at the end, a hole leading underground was revealed in the trunk. Link and Fanny shielded themselves from the plumes of smoke as they peered inside the trunk to find a rock staircase.
