Part 8 Chapter 42-45 Summary

Chapter 42

Mars and Rugato continue their fight outside. His attacks are effective on the vampire butler and he even repels a counter attack of his, though with some harm. After Rugato sees Nozomu's five colored lights he stops then says his task is done and was told to not touch them any further. Mars runs to Iris' house.

Nozomu comes near Iris and tells he will help her. She refuses but Nozomu is now okay with letting his power be known, he is determined and kisses Iris on the lips. He with some help from Sina uses his chains to seal Vitora's magic, saving Iris. Iris is bashful but thankful for him in the end. He gives the hair ornament he was making to her. The ornament is a flower that has the meaning of I will grant your wish. She understands what it means and very touched by that.

Next Nozomu turns to the vampire lady Vitora and asks what is her deal. She explains the way she was attacking the girls was just to test him for the upcoming real battle of this world, then take him depending on the results. Fitora beats Nozomu while saying she became drunk by the Nozomu's blood since drinking it. She also tells that the girls were just shackles for him. Nozomu stands up and says he never had a dream of his own, he always supported other's dreams. His chains were something that holds things together he explains. With this determination his chains materialize, turn white and now everyone can see it. Then he tells that he is the chain that holds dreams together. After that the chains around his body becomes unraveled. Then his magical power blow up, drown out Vitora's and retract inside his body, with the white chains wrapping up around him and closing.

Vitora attacks but is helpless against Nozomu who has his chains wrapped around his katana. He is now manifesting Tiamat's power with no drawbacks. Now that Nozomu realized the nature of his chains, he is in total control of this ability. He then begins his full assault.

Chapter 43

Meanwhile at the basement of the academy, Time Lime along with Jihad, Inda and a bunch of researchers is looking at a magic circle that's waiting to be activated. Just as Nozomu awakens and releases his magic power, researchers report it and the whole group starts the activation. Then we are told how this city while an academy city was also a city that is home to experimental ritual magic. The magic they are activating is a defensive magic that will turn the whole city or parts of it into an impregnable fortress. It was never used till now but thanks to Tima's huge magic power and her growth that makes it possible for her to control and draw magical energy from the dragon vein the whole city is built upon, it is possible now.

Nozomu and Vitora are now on the gardens of Iris' house, engaging in mortal combat. She has super regenerative abilities, super human strength, super human speed plus she acts as if she doesn't feel any pain when Nozomu severs her arm or splits her fist apart apart. Though she doesn't trouble awakened Nozomu. Seeing that, Vitora decides to throw an area effect magic to annihilate the others around him but Nozomu intercepts the spell. He stops her but in the aftermath Iris' house is fully blown away along with Vitora. Nozomu slashes some big pieces that are coming on his head but he couldn't stop the smaller pieces only for them to be blown away by Mars that arrived the scene. Nozomu thanks Mars and just when they look at a regenerated Vitora, Tima's defensive magic gets applied to their surroundings. Then Mars gathers others and defensive magic covers them but it is slightly weaker due to changing its shape. Vitora remarks that now he can play with her without worrying about others and starts releasing huge amounts of magic, then starts her attack.

Chapter 44

Chapter starts with Vitora's past of being bored due to her high power and only feeling alive when someone powerful appears. This time Nozomu defeating her butler aroused her interest and hearing him being a dragon slayer further increased it as it was another dragon slayer who was able to hurt her 150 years ago. Nozomu and Vitora's battle is wearing down the barriers but they regenerate again. Nozomu continuously attacks Vitora closely so that her concentration on her magic casting is interrupted. Strengthened by Tiamat, Nozomu beats down Vitora with his fists which normally shouldn't work on Vitora. Nozomu slashes at her eyes, dislocates her joints, crushes her lungs continuously so that she can't concentrate on magic casting. In the end Vitora reacts by partially transforming her body to stop the attacks. She sprouts sharp bat wings from her arms and backside to attack him. Nozomu deflects the attacks with Vitora remarking how no one had ever pushed her this far.

Chapter 45

Nozomu and Vitora's fight is tearing down the barriers faster than it regenerates. Mars is defending the group from rubbles that fly towards them but is helpless against the barriers. Then the butler Rugato comes from a tear and fixes the barriers. His reason for doing this is not causing unnecessary worry for Nozomu so that Vitora can enjoy the fight to her fullest. On to the fight though, Vitora's regenerative abilities won't slow down and her powers causes even the Tiamat powered Nozomu to get pushed back. Nozomu uses his dance like technique to gather magic that he used against Jihad at the mock battle. Vitora causes his form to disrupt but he fixes it and continues until her attacks start getting evaded and her magic start getting absorbed by Nozomu. He pours all the gathered magic into his sword and attacks with it. This annihilates 70% of her body and just as she starts regenerating Nozomu pierces her chest with his fist, slams her into the ground then releases a Tiamat powered attack that creates a huge pillar of light, burns Vitora's body and even her soul.
