  1. As seems to be the trend with purplebloods, Floris's lusus was not very attentive. This was not, however, because it was out at sea-- it was because it was a coral reef. It was /technically/ a lusus instead of a plant -- and despite that technicality, it was completely motherfucking useless. (As a grub, she got tangled up in it; as it slowly crept away in its ambulatory fashion, she ended up inheriting it as a lusus. Miraculously, she didn't drown. Fuckin' miracles.) Because of this, she essentially raised herself, learning how to craft poisons from the various sea-creatures which took residence inside the coral. She used the reef as her first line of defense, taking up residence in a cave with an aquatic entrance and herding the reef into that entrance; between the coral's predatory nature and the many things which lived inside it, Floris survived to adulthood, even though she was so close to the sea.
  2.
  3. This self-reliance made her disdainful of things and people which she viewed as useless. The lazy, the jobless, the infirm -- they all reminded her of her lusus. And, you know, she's no uptight bianca, but when someone isn't contributing, it's just so fuckin' weak! Especially when their blood's not worth anything in the first place -- she especially hates lowbloods who don't contribute. This can look hypocritical from the outside; because Floris's job is to scare everyone straight and keep the Empress's peace, she can sometimes seem as if /she's/ not doing much. Anyone who brings this point up - should they survive - will be informed promptly that she's doin' her motherfuckin' job and that's why there's no riots up in here, /you dig?/

  5. Unfortunately, trolls never really bothered taking measures against police brutality, and Floris is just as scary as the rest of her caste. The one shining light which makes her easier to deal with lies on the other side of that coin -- while she despises uselessness, people who /are/ working hard are more likely to see her approval. That there is /some/ way to avoid her wrath, even if it isn't totally reliable, makes her one of the better purplebloods out there. Isn't it lucky she's the one who was assigned to this area?
  6.
  7. (She does not, however, differentiate much between 'someone who was being lazy' and 'someone who was overworking themselves and /needed/ to take a break'. It's important to pace yourself when Floris is around!)
  8.
  9. She's just as violent as you would expect a purpleblood to be when violence is inspired in her, and many of her home decorations are stained in multi-coloured blood, paintings she's made in the style of her Subjuggulator forebearers. Much of the blood is old, however -- she's been at this for a while, even if she's /relatively/ young.
  10.
  11. Murder isn't her only response to peasantbloods, though. She enjoys people's reactions, especially to the fear she can evoke with her chucklevoodoos; her first reaction to something irritating often isn't to immediately slaughter it, but to terrify it, have some fun with it. That's the motherfuckin' essence of subjuggulation! And while she /does/ sometimes kill afterwards, she's been known to let the object of her attention scurry away. But like a cat playing with a mouse, it's usually not too long before she pounces on them again. It's fun!
  12.
  13. (Occasionally, she has even been known to have fun with other trolls which is /not/ predicated on their discomfort and injury. Sometimes clowns are just so fresh, you gotta laugh along, you know? The hard part is figuring out what sort of things she'll find funny enough to play along with -- navigating purpleblood capriciousness is really very stressful.)
  14.
  15. The Mirthful Messiahs are an important part of her life. They showed her much motherfuckin' clown love when she was a wriggler with her useless lusus -- it was a miracle she ever got out of those first years alive. She spreads fresh mirth, chugs the wicked elixer, and stares in wonder at the miracles. It's probably not a good idea to profane the faith around her.
  16.
  17. She smokes cigarettes made with a specific blend of plants from her garden sometimes. They put her in a great mood, and she hardly eviscerates anyone after she's had a drag or two. What is IN those smokes? Probably best not to ask.
