- This is mostly chronological because I’m pedantic like that LOL but feel free to go in whatever order you want 👍
- [#10 to #381 basically takes you from the classic 60s era to early 90s, but they’re all mostly standalone]
- Fantastic Four #5 - is Doom's 1st appearance!!
- Fantastic Four #10
- Fantastic Four Annual #2 (A story & B story)
- full arc i think from #196-200 includes doom's clone being hot for Reed LMFAO, Fantastic Four #200 (this is quality Vintage Gay)
- Fantastic Four #236 (Doom’s obsession with keeping tabs on Reed, smh)
- Fantastic Four #260 (Reed’s not even in this one, but it’s worth it because... Doom’s very obsessed lmaooo)
- Fantastic Four #288 (read #260 first for background)
- Fantastic Four #381 & Fantastic Four Unlimited #12 (both pt of the same arc) - death by HANDHOLD
- Fantastic Four vs. the X-Men #1-4 (I LOVE this miniseries! I love how Chris Claremont writes Doom and Reed. He’s the one who developed Magneto and Xavier’s relationship in the comics, so obvs he knows a few things about writing iconic hero/villain relationships)
- [Diff takes on their origins!]
- Books of Doom #2 (I don’t reaaaaally love this one, Doom’s characterization is not great but they cute)
- Before The Fantastic Four: Reed Richards #1-3 (NEMESIS PORTRAIT)
- Shame Itself (B story) - (this one is part of a couple satirical shorts marvel did), ben + doom + reed at their college reunion
- - F4 #352 Time Duel!!!!!!!!
- - F4 #416 Roads Not Taken - shel posted on tumblr
- Heroes Reborn Era
- Fantastic Four v2 (1997) #5-6
- Captain America v2 (1997) #12
- maybe other issues? gotta check
- By Chris Claremont (love it!)
- Fantastic Four v3 (1998) #25, #29-31
- By Dwayne McDuffie (also love it!!)
- Fantastic Four #551-553
- Fantastic Four Special "My Dinner with Doom"
- By Mark Millar
- Fantastic Four #558, 562
- AUs/Alternate Canons:
- Fantastic Five (2007) #1-5 (doom constantly flirts with him in this tbh, it's that one where they get trapped together in an alt dimension)
- Warlock (1972) #6-7 YODELS SADLY!!! READ THIS
- Exiles #95-98 !!!!!!! THIS ONE IS WILDIN!!!!!! it's also claremont
- What If? (1977) #22 (“What if Doctor Doom was a Hero?”)
- Ultimate Fantastic Four #2 (1610 universe’s take on their origin, it’s cute!)
- Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four #42
- 100th Anniversary #1 (it’s not really obvious doom/reed, but doom is sweet in this! and their future grandkids fall in love which is bait if I’ve ever seen it LOL)
- (All of these are “Hickman Era Marvel’ - Hickman writes Doom and Reed soooo well, him and Claremont might be my favorites. Even if they don’t have obvious moments in an issue, it all comes to together, honestly from Fantastic Four #581 all the way to the end of Secret Wars. The only thing is, the New Avengers stuff might be a little confusing since there’s so much going on? His stuff is very dense; it’s a heavy read, which is also why it’s at the bottom after aus. But it’s great!)
- Fantastic Four #581 (arc ends in #582)
- FF v1 (2010) #1-14 (omit 6, 7, 10, 11); concluding in Fantastic Four #611 (love!!!!!!! this one)
- New Avengers v3 (2013) #6, 7, 14
- Secret Wars (2015) #2-4, 9 (I love secret wars! It’s a huge sprawling epic, but at it’s heart, it’s a love letter to their relationship. feel free to read thru the whole thing for clarity, this is just their highlights)
- (After the events of Secret Wars, Reed’s not around anymore; these issues have Doom dealing with that head on)
- Infamous Iron Man #6, #8 -- feel free to read the whole thing if you want, it's good and sad and posits 1610 reed v 616 doom?? much to think about
- Marvel Two In One (2017) #5-6 (+ #4 for background), Annual, #11 - this is also very very good, read the whole thing if u want
- DOOM 2099....
