  1. Buttermilk Ice Cream
  2. Ingredients:
  3. •1 cup heavy cream
  4. •6 egg yolks
  5. •3/4 cup sugar
  6. •2 cups buttermilk

  8. Preparation:
  9.  
  10. 1.Bring cream to a boil in a small sauce pan. Meanwhile, in a medium
  11. bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale yellow and
  12. thick.
  13. 2.When cream boils, slowly pour it into the egg mixture, whisking
  14. constantly. Return mixture to pan and cook, stirring constantly, over
  15. medium-low heat until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon (you
  16. can run your finger across the back of the spoon and leave a track).
  17. 3.Pour mixture into a clean bowl and stir in buttermilk. Cover and
  18. refrigerate until chilled, about an hour and up to overnight. ( I let
  19. it chill for 24 hours )
  20. 4.put in an ice cream maker. then store in freezer.

  22. This is better with fruit. I wouldn't say it's a stand alone icecream.
  23. tho i do it like either way.

  25. cook down some strawberry's ( or berries you like ) with a little
  26. sugar puree into a thick sauce.
