  1. from /hhg/ Hazbin Hotel general #511
  2. ------
  3. For the two people interested, here's what I picked out from the latest Hunicast stream about Hazbin Hotel's vision of Heaven.
  4.
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5ONxBZoR0A
  6.
  7. >Hazbin will focus more on the angelic hierarchy and mythology, less focused on individual biblical figures
  8. >Lucifer and Lilith will likely represent the extent of biblical figures that are specifically focused on
  9. >Won't confirm or deny if God will appear
  10. >The hierarchy of Heaven is inspired by real world interpretations (IE: Crowns, Thrones, Seraphim, etc, etc)
  11. >Angel characters in HH will be themed as alien like entities, as well as sounding alien like.
  12. >Heaven will have an ''ethereal, alien, feel to it'' when presented on HH.
  13. >Implied that character designs will be less "Humans with wings" and more "cosmic entities difficult to describe" (good ole eyes around a ring) but stylised to Hazbin Hotel's theme.
  14. -
  15. So the exterminators more or less adhering to the classic pop culture look of winged humanoids with halos makes them something of an anomaly then? Eeenteresting....
  16. -
  17. (They start talking about Heaven around 1:44:00)
  18. Viz uses Stolas as an example of her taking a entity that has a pre-made style and melding it into her own theme in the HH/HB universe.
  19.
  20. Might be the best way to conceptualise how we might see angelic beings.
  21.
  22. Also, Viz states that Alastor is ethnically creole. Not a huge deal to me, but it also still leaves a lot of room to interpret how Alastor may have appeared in Human life.
  23. -
  24. Sounds interesting to me. The heaven/angel stuff does seem somewhat strange if we get much of a look at it. It may make the goal of redemption seem not that worth it, if you're just going from one hellscape to the next. But that's more from a viewer perspective than an in-character one.
  25. -
  26. I'm having difficulty picturing how the angels that are just masses of wings with eyeballs everywhere are going to translate. Stolas isn't THAT huge of a leap, he's traditionally a literal owl, the creators are obviously a pack of gay furries, BOOM, anthro owl in princely attire.
  27. -
  28. Time will tell, we simply don't have enough information to go on in regards to how they will go about it.
  29.
  30. I guess one question to ponder is how will Human souls in Heaven be represented compared to the Heaven born Angels.
  31.
  32. >inb4 its Amnesia Rebirth and its just a giant torture factory
  33. -
  34. The exterminators ARE the mortal souls. The second you arrive in heaven you get stroggified into a murder machine to spend the rest of eternity fighting Michael and Gabriel's wars for them.
  35. -
  36. That sounds metal as fuck. I like it.
  37. -
  38. >suddenly one of the Hotel's patrons begins screaming uncontrollably
  39. >any attempts to help them are halted when they begin floating in the air
  40. >a large crack reverberates the room, followed by many more as the sinners body begins to twist and contort.
  41. >their flesh begins to slough off, as bits of bone and sinew begin flying in all directions
  42. >their screams slowly become distorted, before silencing as what remains of their throat and neck emits a snapping sound as its twisted beyond any normal limit
  43. >the only sounds left are the cracking of bone and gurgles of liquid being forced out of what remains of the sinners trachea.
  44. >their body keeps writhing, what's left of their arms, now reduced to a small strand of bone and flesh, flail wildly attempting to gain purchase on anything
  45. >their body continues to contort forcibly, now appearing more as a ball of flesh
  46. >skin and muscle continue to peel away, exposed flesh begins to burn, exacerbating the situation
  47. >a small, dim, white halo begins to form above the top of what remains of the sinner, similar to what an Exterminator has, but far weaker and smaller.
  48. >the Hotel proprietors glance at what remains of the entities head, seeing a Human looking eye staring back at them through a mass of burnt flesh and bone, tears streaking unendingly from it, almost pleading.
  49. >the entity disappears in a white flash, leaving naught but a pool of blood and flesh behind.
  50.
  51. >"I guess redemption might not be such a good idea", said Charlie.
  52. >Alastor stands there, his smile unwavering.
