  1. He stared at his tutor, eyes wide with curiosity. Cathak Hyoh wasn't sure why the man was so quiet. He had won, and the tutor had lost. It wasn't a big deal. He'd lost every game before this one, surely the tutor recognized that this was just a game? Either way, it didn't seem to be a bad thing, after all, the man hadn't quit smiling since Hyoh had declared his victory.

  3. "Mother, Father, I was admitted into the House of Bells." It was their yearly meeting. One of the rare moments when he saw both his sisters and his parents in the same room at the same time. The two seemed shocked. It was another one of those moments when he could indulge a quiet sense of pride. Both of his sisters had been admitted, but neither had graduated. They both were sharing one of their looks before they took the time to praise him. They expected him to fail. He'd show them though. They always underestimated him. He heard their whispers in the halls, 'Hyoh will never exalt'and 'He's too weak, too quiet'. Still, he could recognize them for the fools they were. Hotheaded fire aspects, too caught up in their own egos to realize that he would prove their superior.

  5. Twenty one years. Twenty one years since his birth. And still he remained mortal. He had destroyed the interior of his command tent. Granted it was almost cleaned now, but his men had never seen him so furious. He'd never exalt. He'd never prove to be anything more than a fluke. A mortal with a gift for strategy and nothing else. But He'd show them. He'd be the greatest general the legions had ever seen. He'd show them who was superior.

  7. He laughed. Each moment the laughter grew louder and louder. The battle was won, but it was a pyrrhic victory. Strategically necessary, but unnacceptable in terms of casualties. Yet there was the benefit of no witnesses to report his new condition. A Chosen of the Unconquered Sun. A Prince of Creation. One of the so-called Blasphemous. In this moment, he could not do anything but laugh. Of course they'd consider him a blasphemer. He had proven that they were fools, any other commander would have cut and run. But he had emerged victorious, his "weak blood" was chosen by the Highest God in all of Creation. Finally someone had recognized his talents.

  9. Voice of Whispering Thunder appears to be in his early twenties, and dresses the part of his role as a leader. His eyes are a deep orange, and his hair kept shaggier than the average soldier and is a dark shade of brown. He rarely smiles, and his build is distinctly that of a diplomat rather than a soldier. However, his intelligence is unquestionable in his bearing, and in the bored tone of voice he adopts when picking apart a flawed plan.
  10.
  11. Hyoh has two older sisters, Incandescent Pyre, and the eldest daughter of his family, Cinders of Tranquil Fury. The two of them were present in his life to the extent that they were obligated to be so, however they saw little profit in instilling loyalty in their mortal brother, or in interacting with him at all. As such he hates both of them intensely, as their relationship with him and attitude towards him inflame his sense of inferiority. The two are both accomplished members of the Wyld Hunt, and are being pressured to marry at the moment from what Hyoh bothers to remembers of their letters.
  12.
  13. Hyoh's parents, Cathak Chien, and Cathak Lei are both preparing to sire their next child, and correspond with Hyoh semi regularly through letters. They are confused as to why he insists on attempting to remain in the army rather than accepting an arranged marriage, however he has proven that the mortals of their house are capable.
