  1. this channel is more for specific encounter discussion and less about general rotation critiques. but... since we're here:
  2.
  3. You're really just making some fundamental mistakes. Low GCD uptime, low dot uptime, and resource mismanagement. I'll just talk about the longer rotation (the first one) and go in order of what I see looking through the timeline, with a summary at the end. See just the summary if you want "what to improve on" but this will point out some specific things in the log you can see for yourself.
  4.
  5. Everything up to the first FBT is fine, pretty by the books 120 rotation. In your first FBT, you have a random R4 for no reason, which caused you to lose a FBT gcd. I respect the commitment to finishing that outburst cast tho. You also lost a phoenix auto because your FBT entrance was incorrect.
  6.
  7. You entered DWT at 2:12... and never cast tri disaster. Your dots are off the boss here for 30 seconds!! That's a massive potency loss.
  8.
  9. When you are in this DWT in 120, you shouldn't be staying in it (usually). In a dummy, this doesn't really matter that much, but you should be ending that DWT asap to push bahamut out so it aligns with your groups 2 min buffs. I notice you used a bunch of Egi Assaults in this DWT window, probably to get R4 stacks. Just be more aware of your filler phase before this DWT. Use your egi assaults there for R4s so you don't have to delay this bahamut. This Bahamut also lost an auto because you didn't use 2 instants at the end of the demi.
  10.
  11. Then, because of your tri-disaster mismanagement before, you hardcast a set of dots... right before your next FBT. This is just making a bad situation worse. By doing this, you're now delaying the next tri-disaster another full 30 seconds and it causes you to lose an entire use of it. Again here, your FBT entrance was incorrect.
  12. [7:56 PM]
  13. To add to the dot mismanagement issue, you are also just... using fester without dots. That's really bad, it's actually better to use Painflare than it is to use a Fester without dots. I'm not suggesting you use Painflare on a single target (not at all!) but just to point out that what you are doing for those festers right now is worse than the aoe option. This will become naturally solved by addressing the dot uptime problem.
  14.
  15. At 3:44 you just clip to use ED + fester. Never ever ever do this kind of clipping. You always want to use oGCDS like this off a weave window with an instant (either egi assaults, ruin 4s, or even ruin 2s). This is just one example of the clipping throughout the log, you clip quite a lot.
  16.
  17. You've drifted devotion to 4:17, which is... I guess fine in a dummy situation, but in a real encounter this is pretty far from standard and you generally won't do this. Then, you held your entire bahamut until after your raid buff, so it didn't even apply to any of your burst anyway. You're drifting Energy Drain as well, and also mismanaging your other CDs like Egi Assaults and overcapping.(edited)

  19. Anyway, I'll stop here because some of the same mistakes end up repeating. To summarize:
  20.
  21. -Work on your dot management and your tri-disaster management. Make the debuffs on the boss bigger if you have trouble seeing them.
  22. -Work on your GCD management. Use them more, and stop clipping as much. Your GCD uptime is quite low, which means you are losing a lot of damage over the fight to simply not casting. Use Ruin 2 if you really need to; it's better than casting nothing at all.
  23. -Work on your resource management during your filler phases. Use egi assaults instead of holding them to cause drift later. Stop clipping, and hold instants for required weaving.
  24. -Try to work on your drifting CDs. Usually, you want to just hit stuff on cooldown when it comes up. You drifted CDs like devotion and Energy Drain a lot, and lost uses of Egi Assault and Ruin 4 over the course of the fight to overcapping.
  25. -Look into FBT entrances and proper bahamut sequences. You are consistently losing demi autos even on a standing still dummy situation. That shows that you don't really understand how to enter and manage trances yet.(edited)

  27. I realize that can seem daunting, SMN kind of has a lot of moving parts. Pick one thing at a time to improve on and remember that everyone starts from somewhere, and no one is an expert overnight :)
