- Subj: Demeter, the Green Lady
- After the demise of the EarthMother, the forests were held in a
- precarious balance. The nine spirits of Nature brought forth from
- themselves a nature spirit which guarded the forests from harm. Urania,
- the spirit of the Darkenwood, warned that the spirit would not last
- forever, and it seemed that she was right.
- On a day that seemed to shake the very fabric of the world, the three
- remaining monoliths in the abandoned Temple of Gaia crumbled to pieces.
- Druids and Sentinels alike, most notably the Druidess Catlynne, received
- visions of a tangled wood and intense pain. A light appeared above the
- Aureliana and the Druid Eldren discovered a pathway into a new forest
- called the Aerinewild.
- Jallah, the eldest Druid, spoke of a rare coriandar flower and Vixen,
- the Wilderness Guide, of a mortar and pestle. The Sentinel Tranox
- discovered both of these items, and they were taken to the Druid Ranthal
- who ground them into a paste. It remained to be seen what the purpose of
- the paste was.

- Preface
- Many of you have asked for details and memories about the passing of
- Mother Gaia. As time goes by, our memories grow dim and details fade. In
- order to preserve for you and for all posterity, the events surrounding
- the loss of Gaia, I have gathered a compilation of news posts that were
- written at the time in question.

- Subj: Me
- Unfortunately, it has become clear to Me that I am doing more harm to
- the forests than good. Somehow I have managed to alienate the Sentinels,
- the Druids, and Oakstone. I don't know how or why, and I am sorry for
- it. It breaks My heart to see the protectors of the forests at odds with
- each other, and to know that it is at least partially My fault.
- Therefore, I will do what I must. I will give Myself up to the forests,
- and disperse My essence into it. This symbolic sacrifice will, I hope,
- remind many of you what loving the forests is all about. Goodbye,
- perhaps forever, and remember that it is not I that is important anyway,
- but Nature.

- Subj: the final passing of Gaia
- As all know by now, Gaia gave up her coherent consciousness for the good
- of the forests, merging her spirit with them as an example to the
- fueding forest folk. Shortly thereafter, however, the forests began to
- decay and grow diseased. Nine spirits soon appeared, appearing
- distressed and upset by the increasing problems the forests faced. Rooms
- began to become so diseased that groves wouldn't function, and the
- plantlife died completely. The forest animals began to show signs of
- problems, with rabid bunnies roaming about, and many other animals
- visibly disturbed.
- Even more alarming, the forests themselves began, in their delirium, to
- attack all those who spent too long in them. Something had to be done,
- but what wasn't clear. The nine spirits: Clio of the Western Ithmia,
- Thalia of the Northern Ithmia, Erato of the Eastern Ithmia, Polyhymnia
- of the Ulangi forest, Euterpe of the Northreach, Urania of the
- Darkenwood, Terpsichore of the Aalen, Melpomene of the Black Forest, and
- Calliope of the Aureliana knew only that their power was not sufficient
- without the Mother, and that they must have assistance before the
- quickly-decaying forests died completely.
- After an extended Dreaming was held, it was determined that the path the
- forest folk must take was to discover healing concoctions that could be
- [Type MORE if you wish to continue reading. (48% shown)]

- used to assist the forest spirits. By giving them a helping hand with
- these concoctions, the forests were able to be slowly healed, until at
- last, only the Northern Ithmia remained. Upon finally curing that, the
- nine spirits gathered at that symbol of the forest, the Gaian Tree,
- along with a horde of concerned forest folk. Although there was initial
- jubilation, Urania, the spirit of the Darkenwood, matter-of-factly
- informed everyone present that while the forests were temporarily safe,
- the spirits could not maintain their health against any future threat,
- and were unable to provide the energy necessary for the forest to defend
- itself and its protectors from invaders.
- Urania went on to explain that perhaps the only solution would be take
- the last bit of essence of the now-deceased Gaia from the Gaian Tree
- itself, and, infusing her and her eight sisters with it, the Tree and
- the sisters would create a new Nature spirit. With the assistance of the
- present forest lovers, the Nine were able to coax the understandably
- reluctant Gaian Tree to release the essence, though in doing so, it
- ceased to be the Gaian Tree, and became the Great Oak.
- What we know now is that a new Spirit of Nature exists, but that it will
- not be able to protect the forests forever. Not a God, yet more than a
- mortal, it will preserve Nature for now, but eventually, its stewardship
- will end. All those who love Nature can only hope that before that
- eventual event takes place, a new Power will arise who can grant the
- forests and indeed, Nature itself, a more permanent protection.

- ----WARNING LONG POST-----
- Gaia has passed. Her spirit is no more as well as her energy it has gone
- into the land and released the spirits of the Forest.
- Each forest has a spirit- Ulangi, NR, DW, NI, WI, Aureliana, Black,
- Aalen, and EI
- This is everything we have. The work of the Fianna, Druids, Sents, and
- Oakstone. I wanna thank everyone for all the help.
- The passing of Gaia-
- The forests of the land begin to stir in disquiet.
- Momentary light emanates from the center of the Western Ithmia.
- A mournful cry rises up from the forests as the last whisps of Gaia slip
- into oblivion, working to keep her beloved arboreal domains whole.
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi
- While the outer edges of Polyhymnia's body are of the transparent shade
- of the spirit, the rest of her is a swirl of vivid colors. Her garb is a
- gown of large blossoms and broad leaves, possessing vibrant hues of

- emerald, azure, and magenta. Her hair is dark and fluttering in some
- unseen wind, but her almond-shaped eyes are a lighter color, that of
- placid lavender. The exotic scent that wafts from her, that of
- wildflowers and fragrant grasses, makes it clear that she is the forest
- spirit of Ulangi's forests.
- Euterpe, spirit of the Northreach
- A dark, swirling cloud surrounds Euterpe, spirit of the Northreach. She
- constantly rakes her fingers across her pale cheeks, leaving white score
- -marks in the ghostly skin as she laughs darkly. The dichotomy of her
- birth shows through as she babbles quietly to herself in two different
- tones. Despite her unbalanced and intimidating appearance, she radiates
- an aura of security, as though to succumb to her embrace would make you
- safe forevermore.
- A flurry of dark motes fly in from the south, suddenly coalescing into
- Euterpe, spirit of the Northreach.
- A cold wind moves through the trees, rustleing the needles of the
- ancient pines.
- A shudder goes through the nearby trees as a whistling gale sets their
- needles astir and limbs arustling.
- Urania, spirit of the Darken wood
- Urania floats here before you. Her eyes glow like old embers from within
- the shadowy shrouds with which she is wound about. Perpetual tears
- stream down her withered cheeks as she utters wrenching sighs amid her
- constant mumbling. A deep aura of profound sadness and unspeakable age
- surrounds her and her form seems to swallow what little light there is
- here. You smell the scent of the grave and leaf-mould emanating from her
- in waves. Bitter cold radiates from her.

- Thalia, spirit of the North Ithmia
- A transparent visage and ethereal form identify this feminine creature
- as a spirit. Her limbs are pale and translucent around the edges, yet
- her face and central form are more clearly defined. The more substantial
- areas of Thalia's skin seem to have a grey, ashen tint, complimented by
- the dark waves of hair that tumble around her face. Ebon eyes are deep
- and luminous, occasionally sparkling like twin chips of obsidian and
- infused with the same ancient, brooding essence of the Northern Ithmia
- itself. Broad leaves of a deep, dark green cover her form, and vines
- curl up her otherwise bare arms.
- A cold wind moves through the trees, causing their ancient trunks to
- groan.
- The soaring birdcall, always present in the background, suddenly
- disappears for a moment, leaving a hushed void in its place.
- Clio, spirit of the West Ithmia
- The plae, transparent limbs of Clio seem at odds with her darker, tanned
- face that speaks of a love of sunshine. Her eyes are bright and
- sparkling, cast in the shade of a summer sky, whiler her long hair is
- the brown of an oak tree. An array opf flowers adorn it, among them
- lobelia and other blossons native to the Western Ithmia. Even her green
- shift is reminiscent of dryad garb, clearly.
- Calliope, spirit of the Aureliana
- The edges of Calliope's ghost-like form are naturally translucent, but

- this paleness carries over even to her more existential parts, giving
- her a cool, fair-skinned look. Her hair is also of a lighter shade, with
- fine strands of gold falling down her back. Emerald eyes have a serious
- look, one of beauty and purity that seems to speak of the Aureliana
- forest. An aura of serenity surrounds her, so palpable even the deer do
- not shy from her touch.
- A soft breeze catches the nearby flowers, and their blossoms bend
- downwards, drooping in morning and bowing their heads.
- Melpomene, spirit of the Black forest
- She stands wreathed in a showdowy arua shimmering with streaks of gold
- and ailver light like sunlight through ancient trees her tall figure
- appears to be robed in boughs of pine and fir and she wears a crown of
- granite upon her head. upon her breast is a medallion sporting the image
- of an owls eye.
- Rain suddenly falls heavily in the Black Forest, huge hot drops of water
- that taste salty on your lips.
- Terpsichore, Spirit of the Aalen Forest
- Terpsichore stands here with a shimmering reddish-golden light playing
- about her. Her skin is of the ruddy colour of the redwoods that she
- loves so much. She wears a crown of ferns, woven with tiny forest
- flowers, but she disdains clothing. Ferns wreathe her wrists, like
- delicate bracelets. Her long red hair is strewn with bits of herbs. She
- delights in dancing beneath the trees to the music of the birds, while
- the forest creatures gaze upon her in rapt awe.

- Eastern Ithmia floats lightly here, a slight smile on her face. Her
- ghostly hair flows around her as though blown by a gentle forest breeze
- and her face is dappled as though struck by shafts of light shining
- through moving foliage.
- Erato, spirit of the Eastern Ithmia says, "The forests must be saved! I
- know there's a way...we have to find it."
- A forlorn squirrel pauses and gazes at you with tears in its eyes,

- An unnaturally hot wind sweeps through Eastern Ithmia, bathing you in

- Erato, spirit of the Eastern Ithmia says, "Can you?"
- Erato, spirit of the Eastern Ithmia's eyes raise to the heavens as a

- -This is a long post. A very long post.-
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "What do you care."
- You say, "I care because it pains me to see the forest this way."
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood laughs bitterly.
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "Then poke out your eyes so
- you cannot see."
- You murmur softly to yourself.
- You say, "You've more bitterness than the others."
- You say, "But this forest holds bitterness."
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "So you come to watch me die.
- How thoughtful."
- You say to Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood, "I would rather you not

- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "The Mother has abandoned us.

- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "How I hate her now."
- Firrin Coadee, Ruis Filid Drui Silverwind Sa'Rithven-Jaydde, Bard Arrane

- You say to Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood, "How I said those words

- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "Dryads? What do I know of

- sisters."
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "Then go to Him. What do I
- care."
- You murmur softly to yourself.
- You say, "What hatred we poured into this forest with our actions."
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood laughs bitterly.
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood says, "When my death throws come, I

- Subj: Conversation with Polyhymnia
- By me
- The sea bordering the forest lands of Ulangi flings itself against the
- cliffs angrily, reverberating like thunder. A painful, poignant keening
- is heard from deep within the forest reaches.
- You say to Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest, "You are not alone."
- You say, "We are all with you."
- You say, "We care, we understand."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest gives a pained sigh.
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Balance gone."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "The Mother is
- gone...Forests must be saved."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Forests will die."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "We must rest once more or
- my precious forests gone."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Bond severed."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Mother gone."
- Tears fill Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest's eyes and begin to
- slowly run down her face.
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Father try but balance
- destroyed."
- You say, "Yes, I wish I could help, but I don't know how. What balance?"

- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Natures balance."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Hopeless."
- You say, "Nothing is hopeless."
- Tigrayne nods her head in agreement.
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "We will help you if you
- can give us an idea how."
- The sea bordering the forest lands of Ulangi flings itself against the
- cliffs angrily, reverberating like thunder. A painful, poignant keening
- is heard from deep within the forest reaches. Polyhymnia, spirit of the
- Ulangi forest says, "Half of nature not enough."
- You say, "You need a bond, to your fellow spirits? What can we use, to
- give you that bond?
- You must be bonded to all the spirits?"
- You say, "All of Nature?"
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Nature must be complete."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Half no good."
- Tears fill Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest's eyes and begin to
- slowly run down her face.
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Precious forest will
- die."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "No, we won't let that
- happen."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "How can we reunite you
- with the other half of nature?"
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Even ocean not right
- without Mother."
- You say, "Focusing on the forests alone is not enough, much less just
- focusing on life.
- Nature is all things, are their similiar Spirits in the waters, and
- oceans?"

- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Only know mother to bond

- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "The keepers of the forest
- are all that remains, now with Gaia gone...what can mortals to reforge
- that bond?"
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Our own spirits are
- meaningless next to the essence of a god."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Unknown. I only know the
- Mother to passify."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Maybe someone who is a
- mother..."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "How do we know whose

- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Mortal spirits weak."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "So we need many
- sacrifices, or we need more than mere mortals?"
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "People destroy our

- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "So not people, not

- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "The dryad?"
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Vixen?"
- Tigrayne shrugs helplessly at you.
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "People so eager to kill."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Not kill, I would never
- kill a dryad. But can they help us?"
- You say, "We are mortal, and weak, but we love Nature, and not all of us
- wants to kill, just for the sake of killing."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Should we seek help from
- the dryads?"

- You say, "Quite likely, maintaining the forest is a long job."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "So Lupus is not enough,
- there must be a sacrifice, it must be feminine, but mortals are too
- weak, and too eager to kill. Dryads are immortal, or close to it, but I
- suspect that isn't what she meant. Celani are immortal, perhaps we could

- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Cant replace Mother."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "But we cannot let the
- forest die."
- You say, "We would never want to replace Lady Gaia, but the forests are
- important to the Balance of Nature. Without Nature, what are we?"
- You say, "Do we have the key to helping you?"
- You say, "Or are we too week?"
- You give a pained sigh.
- You pick up the corpse of a feisty badger.
- You ask, "I just killed the badger, does that make me weak, and
- worthless?"
- Tigrayne gathers you into her arms and softly murmurs, "It's alright."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Selective hunting keeps
- the balance, too."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Badger no concern."
- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "Will Lupus be able to help

- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Do not know."

- is the love of killing? THe quest for power?"

- You stroke Tigrayne's head in consolation.
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Nothing known, nothing

- Cara della Luna, Tigrayne Lena-D'argan says, "How much time do we have?"
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "No way to know."
- Polyhymnia, spirit of the Ulangi forest says, "Half stuggles to hold

- This is a post I made on the Sentinels board, here by request - once
- more, I cannot stress enough how many inaccuracies may be within this
- post.. feel free to correct any and all of them.
- -------------
- Okay, as you may or may not have heard there has been a good deal going
- on in the forest at the moment. I will do my best to relay all the
- information that I have on hand to you but please keep in mind - this is
- almost definately not a full view of the situation, there are bound to
- be bits and pieces that I have not heard or things which occured in
- different orders to what I have listed, I have not been here as much as
- usual in recent times - but this is the information I have gathered.
- I'll start at the beginning, even though their are previous posts
- relating to the subject, in the hopes that things will be made a little
- clearer for some of you.
- As you should all know, Gaia is no more. She dissolved, spreading her
- essence throughout the forests - in the hopes of supporting them when
- she was no more, leaving them taken care of. However, this plan has in a
- way, backfired. The essence is not focused, it has no purpose and so the
- forest did not react well, it seemed at first to stir uneasily, but has
- [Type MORE if you wish to continue reading. (10% shown)] (+10 Mana)

- since then been lashing out. Strange things seemed to happen. The
- silencing of normally cheerful birdcalls, the rapid growth and death of
- individual flowers, hot winds sweeping though the trees, even the
- squirrels behaviour was strange and somewhat forlorn. The forests seemed
- to be mourning. More and more things began to occur and those in the
- forests have witnessed fires and rains ice, things which brought time to
- a standstill momentarily, with effects not unlike Aeon. The vines have
- been reaching out and whipping people - these are just a few examples,
- but you have the idea. Forests aren't doing too well.
- In each forest, a spirit appeared - I have heard word that they were
- always there, just not visible to us. And around this time other strange
- happenings occurred, a group of forestals witnessed Esos' death, and
- other such events were noticed, among them, the dryad teacher passing
- away, the animals in Mother's temple becoming sick, even the tiny
- sparrows who normally flit about incessantly and energetically seemed to
- strain with every movement.
- The spirits which appeared in the forests each have a name - Thalia,
- Erato, Polyhymnia, Melpomene, Euterpe, Urania, Clio, Calliope,
- Terpsichore. The spirits can be found wandering around their forest, but
- they are unable to leave its boundaries. They began to cry out in pain,
- feeling that which their forest feels.
- They were questioned (as Emergo's recent post shows) and a solution was
- searched for. A discovery was made that the Garden of the Arts, in
- Cyrene, had a statue of each spirit within it. Surrounding a large gold
- statue of Scarlatti. Only in Cyrene they took the forms of muses, not
- forestal spirits. But it seemed to be a lead, and hence the statues were
- examined in search of clues.

- It became clear, by now, that the forests were not just lashing out with
- an abundance of energy, but were lashing out in pain. Not merely sick,
- but dying. Areas of forest were decaying, leaving this in place of the
- flora we see so often -
- 'The plantlife here is diseased and dying. The stench of rotting
- vegetable matter fills your nostrils, and an uncomfortable feeling of
- decay permeates the atmosphere.'
- Locations in which this death occured were not only wiped of plants, but
- no longer deemed forest. This death was and is spreading.
- Various rituals and events were attempted - these I have no details of,
- I believe there were two main things, one which almost backfired,
- setting the Gaian Tree alight and another more organized prayer session,
- which seemed to have no effect.
- I'm not sure if any other attempts were made.. not sure what other
- findings were made when, but some time later (this is basically where I
- know happenings a little better from) new discoveries were found. I
- believe it was after the event paying tribute to the Lady Gaia, that
- some deposits of rich soil were found in the Gaian temple.
- Various discussions were held - ideas given, about what we were to do
- with this dirt. Some believed that it could be used to aid replanting,
- and replenish the decayed forests, other believed that it needed to be
- combined with water and other elements to have any effect. A number of
- things were attempted. All failed.

- I think it was some time around here that Lady Valnurana hosted a
- dreaming, inviting a small group to take part. I don't have many details
- about this, apart from the information that Rick relayed to the members
- of the Fianna - but I believe Chirra was part of it, as was Vorleth, if
- you wish to seek them out for further details. This is the information I
- heard.
- (The Fianna): Rick says, "The dreaming, in summary, as I hear, saw this:
- The nine spirits were singing together. Gaia, in the center, picked up a
- young plant from the ground and gave it to one of the spirits, who sang,
- causing the plant to grow. Each spirit began to sing, and only Gaia was
- left in the center. She cupped a handful of soil and two plants, and
- opened her hands. A silver mist flew out and nurtured the lands. The
- second time, the mist stayed still, and the third time it fell like
- rain."
- Basically.. this gave people something to ponder. But no real course of
- action was discovered, or decided upon just yet. Attempts were
- continuing to be made using the soil to replenish the barren forests.
- The spirits were focused on once more. Perhaps they were the key - we
- needed to give them something? The soil was passed on to some of them,
- in the hopes that they would know how to use it better then us, but
- still no luck. Other things were tried, giving the spirits various herbs
- and so on, but nothing.
- Landon then came to us with details of his journey into the world of
- dreams - details which have helped greatly.. helped more then almost
- anything else, in my opinion. I'll give you a transcript of his words.

- and unable to do this themselves. The time has come for those of the
- forests to use their skills in preserving nature."

- And so each one of us found our way to the Spirit we had been assigned
- to and began to experiment, with suggestions from many abounding, and
- the aid of many delivering food, herbs, soil and supplies, it was known
- we had to make a concoction of sorts, but we were not sure of the
- ingredients, or what we were boiling for. After many attempts (can't
- remember who made the discovery though, sorry!) it was realised we could
- 'boil pot for <Spirit's name>'. So each of us continued, attempting a
- concoction for the forest which we were in.
- 'And the last, Calliope, shall bear a harmony of a different nature...
- [Type MORE if you wish to continue reading. (73% shown)] (-10 Mana)

- the earth, the fruit thereof, and a small nut.' So Calliope's elixir has
- three ingredients, the soil, a fruit of the soil (a herb perhaps?) and a
- small nut.. maybe kola?.
- '"The other eight, her sisters, need the richness of the earth, a single
- herb... and a flower...' And thus.. the ingredients for the elixir for
- the rest, we must determine from this message.
- Deonymus.. who had erm, eaten some kind of mushroom - which had a very
- interesting effect on him, had seen a number of visions which hinted to
- him about the ingredients for the elixir of the Black Forest. You'll
- have to ask him for details of his visions *grin* I'm not sure exactly
- what he saw, however, it did lead him to create the first elixir to heal
- the forest.
- (The Fianna): Deonymus says, "With a sudden slow pulsing of white light,
- the liquid and floating bits of plant matter in the pot combine into a
- Black Forest restorative."
- Skullcap, moss and soil were the ingredients for his concoction.. which
- could be transferred into a vial and emptied out over a patch of dead
- ground, to restore its life. Doing so, Deonymus and Rick healed the
- entire Black Forest.
- The formula Deonymus used did not work for the other Spirits though - it
- is believed that each needs a combination specific to it. None of which
- have been discovered as of yet. It is believed that the secret to
- discovering what goes in which elixir lies with the Spirits themselves,
- and signs which may appear to those in the forests.
- [Type MORE if you wish to continue reading. (83% shown)]
- [File continued via MORE]
- None of the other restoratives have been discovered yet, and it is
- believed that there is something strange going on which is not allowing
- us to brew properly - so that even if we have the right combination of
- ingredients, it will not work. Because we are not sure if the amount of
- soil we have is limited, things have been brought to a standstill for
- the moment, until we can be sure that our brewing methods are not
- faulty. The soil has been locked in the safety of shop stockrooms, where
- it cannot decay.
- The Black Forest has begun to slide back into its state of decay, and
- it's believed that it will continue to do so until we are able to
- restore all forests at once - and so it was decided that in order to
- conserve the soil, it would be left as is until the other restoratives
- have been discovered.
- This next little bit applies to the forest I was assigned to, there was
- a message in the Western Ithmia recently about myrrh and ginseng
- combining and the mixing of their scents - I don't have the exact vision
- on hand but that's the important bit. So it's possible that if our
- brewing is playing up that the ingredients for the Western Ithmia
- restorative are myrrh, ginseng and soil - and that it's just not working
- at the moment. Just had to include that incase the people who have seen
- that message aren't here when the next wave of attempts to concoct the
- elixirs goes ahead.
- At the moment.. I think that's about it - but once again I stress to you
- that I am sure I am not aware of all the details of this situation and I

- brethren. I think it's also important to keep channels of communication
- open - we have to do our best to make sure that everybody is aware of
- what is going on. So those of you on the Oakstone and Fianna channels,
- we need to pass things back to the Senties and guildchannel.. and if any
- of you brilliant Sentinels make discoveries (because I know you're all
- brilliant, of course) please ensure that Oakstone, the Druids and the
- Fianna is informed.
- Good luck, Sentinels.

- [Type MORE if you wish to continue reading. (32% shown)]
- [File continued via MORE]
- Urania, the Spirit of the Darkenwood, spoke with two Sentinels Merlin
- and Landon, and showed them the way to use the paste and turn it into a
- liquid. They took that knowledge to Catlynne, and with the help of the
- Druidess Aelyn, created the soothing grove rain that filled the mortar
- and mixed with the paste. Finally, a liquid is revealed to be inside the
- mortar, and the process moved forward.
- As the information was being given to Merlin and Landon, the Druids
- Conor and Slie and the Druidess Aelyn received visions unlocking the
- cairn stone in the Aerinewild. The Druidess Aelyn was the first to say
- the phrase, and discovered a lost temple to a woman named Demeter. When
- the liquid was brought to the temple and spoken about, it was thought to
- heat the mortar on the campfire of a Sentinel. Landon created a
- campfire, the mortar was dropped and after a few moments, a mist flowed
- from the mortar and floated away to the Great Oak.
- When the spirits were consulted, it was the mist itself that pleaded
- with a group of Druids and Sentinels to collect the essences of the
- forest. The nine sisters each had a seed. Collecting the Black Forest
- essence was Astridd, the Western Ithmia was Aelyn, the Aalen Forest was
- Deonymus, the Northreach was Trill, the Darkenwood was Mistie, the
- Eastern Ithmia was Maklyr, the Northern Ithmia was Dannath, the
- Aureliana was Jancis and Ulangi was Rout. Before the seeds could be
- offered, however, Darkenwood was passed to Alkaisar and Ulangi to
- Firefox. All the seeds were offered at the altar, in a ceremony led by
- Kalleah, the Spirit of the Hazel.
- After a time, it was revealed that a ritual was needed to bind the mist
- into something and awaken the sleeping Goddess. In the end, the spirits
- [Type MORE if you wish to continue reading. (75% shown)]

- chose six people to complete the ritual - Jancis to represent the
- Druids, Tallyn to represent the Sentinels, Kaisar to represent the
- Lupines and Conor to represent the old way of the Gaian. To lead the
- ritual were chosen Mysti and Emergo. An outpouring of love and support
- rang from the confines of the temple of Demeter, and as the ritual
- ended, the mist seemed to respond. It wrapped around the tree in the
- Sacred Grove and the tree shook as though it did not want to release
- what was inside of it. Emergo and Mysti placed their hands on the tree,
- and in this gesture of love, the Goddess Demeter stepped from it.
- The Druids and Sentinels await to see how the Green Lady will impact
- their beloved forests, but for now they are safe within Her embrace.
- Their love for the forests and for each other, were able to summon Her
- from Her sleep. It is an example well-remembered for future generations.
