- Red's Chinese, a hipster American Chinese restaurant in the Bywater
- Bao & Noodle, the same as it ever was as a solid traditional-ish Chinese place but a little expanded menu and bar and on St. Claude now
- Dian Xin, a new dim sum spot on Decatur that's pretty dang good
- Kukhnya the Green Room, the Slavic Soul Food place that used to be in Siberia but is now its own restaurant on Gentilly in the Treme
- Kebab, the psycho sandwich place on St Claude that's been around a while
- Addis NOLA, a newer Ethiopian place on Broad in Mid City not too far from the courthouse
- Rosedale, a Susan Spicer New American place tucked away in Mid City behind where Shaye & I used to live (near Delgado)
