I've been really enjoying Donkey Kong Country 3. Memes and jokes at the game's expense aside, I've found it to be a really fun speed game. Knowing how to actually move through levels quickly adds a lot of depth to the game, and, even though nothing is necessarily as hard as DKC2, it's still got a lot of execution required for a long time. I'd like to get at least a 54 in any% - I might even consider taking that down to 52 depending on how much time I feel I can still save once 54 shows up.

After that (maybe even before/simultaneously), I'll move on to 103%.  Watching @nadu7793/suzuri's WR of the game makes me pretty excited to learn some new tech for that category to lump things on top of the new any% tech I've learned. My original goal for the category was 2:15, but now I'm starting to think even 2:10 is do-able for me. We'll just have to see how it goes once I get started.

Then I'll be moving on to DKC. First will be any%-all stages, which I'll go through and try to learn each stage properly via the IL leaderboard, as I've done with DKC3. I'm going to finally take the time to learn tire rolls and better use of extended rolls, and I'm considering spending some time with bird-TuT and perils with jump rolls. Goal there is 38 or better. Then onto 101%.

The grand goal of all of this is to get to a 306%, with sub-5 being the goal there. If I hit these goals (1:00 101%, 1:40 102%, 2:10 103%), then that will be no problem at all!  Hopefully I'll be able to do that big run sometime near the end of July.

After that.... the quest for 41 begins in DKC2 any%. Kanis and I want to race that at AGDQ 2017, and I feel like it's time for that category to show up again. Not sure who else is interested in that race (maybe Cris?), but if I get a 41 or even a low 42, then there's no reason I shouldn't be included. There's been some talk of maybe submitting a trilogy relay race, and I would love to represent DKC2 on one of the teams. I've put a lot of work into this game, and GDQ has been the thing that really inspired me to get into speed running, so I'd really like to seriously be considered this time.
