  6. * Koyo squaring his feet, rolling his shoulders
  7. * @[Mamoru] starts up the system. An overlay appears: "The Floating City: Venice" as the surroundings shift. ... it's a very accurate recreation of the city, all things considered. You're on a wide bridge over one of the canals, and there's even recreated people around and boats coming through in the water.
  8. * Koyo walks, his coat doing the wind sweepy billowy thing
  9. * @[Mamoru] only, there's a specific thing-- a dragon is sweeping overhead.
  10. * @[Mamoru] while a Dragon Horn Hunter leaps across the buildings, trying to chase it. She ends up landing in front of you, cursing under her breath.
  11. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragon Horn Hunter> They keep moving too fast for me...
  12. <Koyo> ...
  13. <Koyo> Hrm?
  14. * @[Mamoru] she notices you reacting to her, as she stands up. "You can see me?"
  15. <Koyo> Of course, Miss? Ma'am? Madam?
  16. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragon Horn Hunter> ... It's suspicious. No one else here has noticed me... You're not with or going after the dragons, are you?
  17. <Koyo> No, I am merely here on a journey for knowledge and exploration
  18. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragon Horn Hunter> Well, you'd best get out of here, if you're aware of me. If you're not careful, you'll gain their attention.

  23. * Koyo walks away, slowly, exploring, shouldn't she be the guardian.... Hrm.
  24. * @[Mamoru] you walk away, but then you hear her yell "GET DOWN!" as you feel her force you down to the ground. You hear the THUNK THUNK of arrows hitting the ground where you were just standing.
  25. * @[Mamoru] overhead, a couple Sky Dragoons of Draconia are flying around, reloading their crossbows
  26. * Koyo hits the ground, grimacing, growling
  27. <Koyo> Is there a way to drive them off?
  28. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragon Horn Hunter> Che... *she looks up at them. they're sniggering at your situation.* Do you have any way to defend yourself?
  29. * Koyo holds up Duel Disk
  30. <Koyo> Modernized means of magic
  31. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragon Horn Hunter> That's work-- I'll drive one of them off, but if the other stays behind, you know what to do. *she leaps up, using her sword to try to hit at one of the Dragoons. Understandably, they swerve, but gets annoyed because they were in the middle of loading-- those crossbows are pretty hard to ready, after all. The Dragoon ends up going after the Hunter, swooping, while the remaining one takes aim at you, Koyo.*

  33. * Koyo holds out his hand
  34. <Koyo> I challenge you to a contest of wits and skills, my magic versus your forces!
  35. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragoon> ... What? *they seem to quirk an eye, hissing a bit. after all, it is a lizard man.* You want to really challenge us in that?

  55. * Koyo a mysterious shadow forms in the waterways beneath

  57. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragoon> I draw... *drawing the card*
  58. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragoon> I activate Summoner's Art... Adding Lancephorhynchus to my hand. Next, set the Pendulum Scalessss 2 to 7. Foucault's Cannon, and Flash Knight! *the two monsters appear on either side of his field set-up, the pendulum swinging overhead*

  60. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragoon> Battle. Lancephorhynchus attacks your Megalosmasher X! *the jagged knife-headed creature appears, flying up and then down at Megalosmasher.*
  61. * Koyo snaps, thinking, looks for an action card, or did I request it be standing
  62. * @[Mamoru] you did not. Do as your heart desires, Koyo.
  63. * Koyo jumps into a boat, grabbing a card. "I activate this, it's called Miracle."

  65. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragoon> *hssss* So, you know how to do that then? Fine! *he places two cards down* I set two cards, and finish my turn. *then he jumps up onto one of the roofs, scampering on all fours, it seems like, to go speedily along and surrounding you, as Lancephorhynchus flies overhead*

(2300 ATK) *a... darker version of the woman who helped you earlier appears from the Pendulum void, hopping onto Lancephorhynchus' back and riding them.* Lancephorhynchus! Attack the Megalosmasher X! *and then it dives once again, controlled by the dark Dragon Horn Hunter copy*

  208. * @[Mamoru] the Dragoon's going flying from the spot the explosion came from, and if you check your disk, it seems he activated an Action Trap called Bomb Surprise (You take 800 damage). ... wow, that's some awful luck. You should take advantage of this!
  209. * Koyo but how. What's your field even.
  210. * @[Mamoru] Flash Knight and Foucault's Cannon set as Pendulum Scales 2 <--> 7, and two Lancephorhynchus at (2500 ATK). You just need something to try to swing over that... or weaken them.

  212. * @[Mamoru] it was his, but it clicks to your turn since he's recovering from the blast.

  218. * @[Mamoru] one of the Lances moves to take the hit, still trying to head for you and your whale to eat
  219. * Koyo smash smash smash. ... Though, uh, my Sea Stealth Strike
  220. * Koyo kills it

  222. * @[Mamoru] whoops. Though the Lance gets beaten up and shattered.
  223. <Koyo> ... End Turn.
  224. <@[Mamoru]> <Dragoon> Cheeky little... Draw!
  225. * @[Mamoru] Dragoon looks at his hand. then at the field. and then at Koyo.
  226. * Koyo prepares himself again
  227. * @[Mamoru] ... in a shocking move of breaking protocol, he tosses his entire hand, and whistles, as his ride comes. He jumps on, and then divebombs right for you-- wait, this isn't part of the duel!!!
  228. <Koyo> ...!?
  229. * Koyo summons forth the Moralltach Sword as soon as he realizes, and starts running up his ride into the air to meet the challenge.
  230. * @[Mamoru] before you can begin to think of options though to retaliate this cackling divebombing Dragoon, Mamoru saves his poor machine from imminent destruction by causing a forced shut down. The scene before you glitches and blinks out. Back to the testing room.
  231. * @[Mamoru] which is sure lucky cause that sword would've been bad news for the AI machine.
  232. * Koyo standing there holding the sword, shaking, breathing shallowly
  233. * @[Mamoru] you hear stomping and running as Mamoru comes through the door that led up to the observation area, Kai behind him.
  234. <@[Mamoru]> <Kai> Koyo! Are you alright?! *forcing himself past Mamoru, who's momentarily staring at the fact that you have a large blue glowing mechanical sword.*
  235. * Koyo the sword falls to his side. as the other arm lets go
  236. <Koyo> ...I think I'm alright.
  237. <Koyo> Care... to explain,Mr. Yamada, is it...?
  238. <@[Mamoru]> *... shaking his head as Kai lets out a heavy sigh of relief.* Sorry. It seems the system glitched out with being presented with the problem that was at hand.
  239. <Koyo> That we were tuck in a mostly unresolving game state?
  240. <@[Mamoru]> Essentially. Every option at hand for the AI would have been pointless. It seems my system needs some work in that aspect when stalemates arrive... ... more importantly. *points to the sword* What is that.
  241. <Koyo> Self defense.
  242. <Koyo> For when stalemates occur and stabbing and shooting starts
  243. <@[Mamoru]> ... Sorry. Though it looks a bit familiar... ... ah well. Apologies, Hasegawa. Do you mind waiting an hour so the system can cool down and restart? Forced shut-downs are always a problem... if you want to be compensated extra, Kanzawa, I can.
  244. <@[Mamoru]> <Kai> Ah, I don't mind waiting a bit.
  245. <Koyo> If you'd like it, I won't push for it if it's too much of an inconvience.
  246. <Koyo> And honestly this is just mostly a magitech sword. Its only purpose is self defense.
  247. <@[Mamoru]> I don't like making my volunteers feel like they need to defend themselves. *rubbing his head* If your nerves are alright, I'd like it if you can write a short report on the experience, as well. I suppose the level of realism was pretty high...
  248. <Koyo> ... I have no problems with that.
