  1. Leaning back on his armchair, the young man gathered the books he had left on his desk and opened them - for the most part, these were magitech studies and also history, some referring to Barsburg and its inventors, their creations.
  2.
  3. Quite amazing.
  4.
  5. Such have always been part of the now master craftsman life, in his quest for knowledge and desire to bring innovation into the world. And now, it was time for him to practice something.
  6.
  7. Indeed.
  8.
  9. That is, something he had only heard about - but never found such in-depth details about, such a thing was Golemcraft. Which unfortunately the data was scarce.. But..
  10.
  11. Acantho could try it! Experiment. He'd always been a genius at these things and wouldn't give up now on his quest, no.. Not while he still had chance, a way to move forward - so it was time to get to work.
  12.
  13. And ahead were some resources which he could use for this! Some iron, copper and adamantite - base materials and one which servedas a conduit for magic, however heavy it was.. Still, there were also some magic crystals, which he could use to extract magical energy from - as well as blue mercury, which he could use to develop runes.
  14.
  15. Everything was ready and it was time to act.
  16. (Acantho)
  17.
  18. "Alright, this shouldn't be that complicated.. Apparently all of the most advanced things in magitech involved a lot of rune systems in their production..
  19.
  20. So, if I follow this line of thinking.." He started talking to himself, since he was in his room..
  21.
  22. Alone, unfortunately.
  23.
  24. He had a very clear notion of magitech stuff, but such was still in its infancy - he had a lot to study. Much to improve and only time could guarantee that.
  25.
  26. Good thing he was from Aphros.
  27.
  28. So to begin with, the young man collected the irons and copper. These were mixed and shaped into new forms, using his tools - so the scientist started to assemble some parts.
  29.
  30. Acantho wanted to start with something simple and so he would assemble.. Some 'toys' in a way - small metallic entities, which could serve for his tests!
  31.
  32. And so, he did.
  33.
  34. First, he molded the arms and legs - which were hollow inside.. Subsequently he made lines with the adamantite, which then upon its surface he transcribed runes.
  35.
  36. As expected.
  37.
  38. On the legs and arms, the runes were made referring to 'moving' and 'circulation', due to the magical use that would be involved in these things in the future.
  39.
  40. And when ready, the rune lines of adamantite were inserted into the finished parts.. Connected to those and then placed to the side, as now he needed to make the other parts.
  41. (Acantho)
  42.
  43. Subsequent to the arms and legs, the artificer worked on the torso. This was longer and notably more detailed part! However, its conclusion would come and the center was done.
  44.
  45. As expected.
  46.
  47. Which, had a space for allocation of power crystal, in addition to internal spaces connected to the center - which could be linked to the adamantite of the limbs.
  48.
  49. Incredible.
  50.
  51. So he would then connect the arms and legs one by one, as always - using his tools to make the internal connections and get everything connected. It was also notable that now that this was done, he transcribed runes around the center - which would serve to 'control' and also 'disperse' the energy of the gem that would be allocated there.
  52.
  53. Quite amazing.
  54.
  55. And then, to conclude this little creature... He molded the rest of the materials into a little head for the being. It wasn't super amazing, but it was given the same things as before - the adamantite ligaments, as well as runes for vision.. Which were made into the glass lenses, which the scientist allocated in the center of the head - two of them, before this was done.
  56.
  57. And then the head was placed.
  58.
  59. And now with all that ready, all connected - only one thing was missing.. Activate that creature.
  60. (Acantho)
  61.
  62. To activate that 'toy' of his, the scientist took a crystal of lightning he had - the pure elemental energy should serve as a core for now. This one, was connected to the center of the entity's chest and then, it gave a small 'impulse'..
  63.
  64. Sending an influx of his own magic to his creation.
  65.
  66. This would cause mana to flow through the ligaments and then start the activation of the runes, as planned. Soon these would shine and Acantho became more and more anxious!
  67.
  68. And the mechanical spasms of it began!
  69.
  70. Was it working!?
  71.
  72. However, along with that, came problem! As.. Smoke was emitted from the entity's joints and then, his anxiety was changed to fear - when he noticed that the system failed.
  73.
  74. Oh no.
  75.
  76. He would pick up his little mechanical creature and then place it inside of a pot which he closed soon after - to then cap off any oxygen present and stop the fire from starting! This proved to be successful anda catastrophe was averted for now..
  77.
  78. But damage was borne by his creation, which had failed..
  79.
  80. "Well, back to the drawing board." He commented, storing the entity in his lab coat for now.. That little animunculi he had created, which he would now have to repair.
  81.
  82. First experiment: Failure.
  83. (Acantho)
