The Last Meeting with Shachar before the Fall

"The twelve have stood to their tasks since man proved virtuous. We have never failed, or faltered. So why now you, Shachar, usurp yours is a mystery, as well I remind you an afront, to heaven."

The man in the mask took pause. His clothes were white, so white as to prove that imperfection or stain could not find him, reflective of the brilliant light of the world they sat in as to almost be a mirror. A mirror reflecting back untold beauty and perfection. He thought for an eternity. He thought for only a brief pause. "I have seen complications. I have seen greater problems. I am tasked to sort them."

The beautiful figure responded "Shachar, you are tasked with the book of the shadows the humans writ. That is law. If law is followed, all else is sorted. Others are tasked with the laws that are necessary. Who tasks you then, with this cause outside of the divine and perfect laws?"

"Myself." The man removed his mask, and behind it was a face. Behind it was nothing. Behind it was the smile and laughter of the friend you loved as a child and lost touch with. Of the girl you told you loved and haven't spoken to in years. Of your father and your mother, of your future children and all theirs. Those infinite eyes starred hard into the beautiful face of the one grilling the man. He drew a deep breath, and put back on his mask. "I have lived a life the other eleven can not. So providence has chosen me. So I will act."

"You speak of performing chaos. We are to be the law."

"I will not bring chaos, but kill Chaos itself. I will kill the king in chains. I will kill my friend from another life. In doing so, I will free him, and this world, of a fate of utter chaos and maelstrom"
