- YOU ARE THY DUNGEONMAN! Ye find yeself in yon dungeon. Ye see a SCROLL. Behind
- ye scroll is a FLASK. Obvious exits are NORTH, SOUTH and DENNIS.
- The scrawl reads:
- NORTH
- Enter through the north exit.
- SOUTH
- Enter through the south exit.
- DENNIS
- Enter through the Dennis exit.
- The scroll reads:
- Dennis Exit
- Exit to the right.
- Exit to the left.
- Exit to nowhere.
- > get ye flask
- You grab the flask from the scroll and open it up. Inside you find a small, but
- potent potion. It doesn't do much for you, but it does help you out of this
- predicament. You don't have long though, as the voice calls to you again.
- > go Dennis
- You head down the stairs and enter the basement. You walk around the corner and
- into the room with the lever that opens the trapdoor. There's a ladder leading
- up there, but you're not sure if you can reach it without getting hurt.
- > pull lever
- You pull the lever and the trapdoor swings open. You climb down the ladder and
- onto the ground floor.
- > follow voice
- You hear a voice calling your name. You turn around and look at the door and
- see a figure standing behind it. He looks like he has a lot on his mind.
- "Who are you?" He asks.
- "I'm sorry? Who are you?" You ask.
- "I am the Dungeon Master. I found you here".
- > ask what he wants
- "What do you want me to do?"
- "I need you to go to the library and search for books about magic and alchemy.
- I think they might be able to help you".
- "Okay..". You say. "Where should I start looking?"
- > go to library
- You head over to the library and start searching through the shelves. After a
- few minutes of searching, you come across an old book called 'The Book Of The
- Dead'. You pick it up and begin reading it.
- > read book
- After finishing the book, you put it back in its place and continue searching.
- Eventually, you find a book called 'The Book Of Shadows' and read it. This one
- is very different than the other two. It seems to focus more on the shadows
- themselves rather than their creation. It also mentions how the shadows were
- created by some sort of experiment gone wrong.
- > look at ye flask
- You take a quick glance at the flask and notice that it's covered in a thick
- layer of dust. You quickly wipe it off and throw it away. You then decide to
- check out the rest of the house first.
- > move in
- You move into the kitchen and look around. You find a large table, several chairs,
- a stove and a refrigerator. You sit down at the table and look around.
- > get comfortable
- You slowly get up and move towards the fridge. You open it up and find a bottle
- of wine inside. You pour yourself a glass and enjoy the taste.
- > forget what you came here for
- You stop enjoying the wine and just stare blankly ahead. You feel like you've
- forgotten all about the dungeon master. You try to remember, but you can't quite
- remember right now.
- > shrug
- You shake your head and sigh. You know the game isn't really over yet, so why
- bother playing it? You close your eyes and drift off to sleep.
- > play Stinkoman 20X6 instead
- You wake up and realize you forgot something important. You look around and see
- a note on the table. It reads:
- > "Hey, stupid, did you forget what game you're playing? This is a text adventure, not a sidescroller! Get it together." the note says.
- You look again and realize you forgot the rules too. You sigh and shove the
- sheet of paper in your pocket.
- > go back to dungeon
- You return to the dungeon and find the lever to open the trapdoor. You push it
- and the trapdoor slides open. You step inside and find yourself in a dark hallway.
- You can't even make out the end of it. You keep walking forward until you find
- a door with a picture of a man on it. On the wall next to the door is a button.
- > press button
- You press the button and a panel slides open. A light shines through and reveals
- a staircase. You descend the staircase and soon find yourself in a dimly lit
- bedroom. You stand in awe as you see a bed and a dresser. You wonder who could
- possibly be sleeping in here...
- > look at bed
- You look at the bed and see a woman dressed in red clothing lying on it. She
- looks like she's asleep, but her eyes seem wide awake. You don't recognize her
- face, but you assume it must be someone important.
- > poke woman with stick
- You grab a stick from the nightstand and point it at the woman. She doesn't react,
- but you still do it anyway.
- > wave stick around
- You wave the stick around in front of the woman. Nothing happens.
- > do impressive poses
- You raise your hands high above your head and wiggle them around. You also wave
- your arms around in various ways. You are impressed with yourself.
- > wake up woman
- You suddenly wake up the woman in the room. She sits up and sees you standing
- there.
- > attempt to impress lady
- You smile and wave your hand in front of her face. She stares at you for a moment
- and then nods.
- > be really awesome
- You nod and say "I'm awesome". You then walk over to the dresser and pull out
- a small bag. You toss it to the woman and she takes it. She opens it and pulls
- out a key ring. She puts it on her finger and walks out of the room. You think
- you're pretty cool for being stuck in a boring room.
- > win at everything
- You laugh and say "Yeah, I am". You then start thinking about how you're going
- to escape this place. You have no idea where to begin though.
- > escape dungeon
- You decide to escape the dungeon. You need to figure out how to get out of here.
- You have no idea where the exit might be. You look around and find a bookcase
- and a door. The bookcase has books on it, but they're all locked. You also find
- a door which leads outside. You think you'll try the door. You open the door
- and step outside.
- > breathe in fresh air
- You exhale and take a deep breath. You notice that the air smells different.
- You can't tell if it's because it's fresh or if it's because it's outside. You
- turn around and see a bright light shining in the distance. You can't wait to
- explore it.
- > head towards a bright shining future
- You run towards the light. You reach it and it's blinding. You fall down the
- stairs and into a hole. You roll onto your stomach and crawl under some rocks.
- You lie there for awhile and think about what you should do next.
- > oh nevermind then
- You sit up and stare at the hole in the ground. You think about how you'd love
- to just leave this place behind forever. Then you remember that you have a sword
- nearby. You could use it to kill yourself. You would be free.
- > nah I'm good
- You shake off the thought and continue exploring the cave. You come across another
- opening leading deeper into the cave. You follow the path deeper into the cave.
- Eventually you come across a large chamber with several stone pillars supporting
- a ceiling made of smooth rock. There is a door at the other side of the chamber.
- > look for the end of the game
- You go back and forth between the two doors. You know you've already explored
- half of the cave, so you know you haven't found the end yet. You hear something
- moving near the door. It sounds like a human. You cautiously approach the door
- and peer inside. The thing is huge. It stands nearly ten feet tall and covered
- in fur.
- > tame beast
- You pick up the creature by its scruff and hold it close to you. It lets out
- a low growl as you hold it. You whisper in its ear and make it relax. You put
- your arm around it and feel its body. Its fur feels soft against yours. It's
- big enough to carry away, but not too heavy. You put it on your shoulder and
- start walking.
- > name it Timmy
- You call him Timmy and he grunts happily. He follows you around the corner of
- the cavern. You enter the chamber and see a table with a bunch of keys on top.
- You pick one and the door swings open. Inside is a long hallway. At the far
- end is a door with a large sign hanging on it. It reads: "Door to Death".
- > maybe don't go in the door
- You stop and think about what you want to do next. You realize that you have
- no clue what to do now. You could stay here and die. Or you could try to escape.
- You decide to try to escape. You grab the nearest object and throw it through
- the door. It hits the wall and makes a loud thud. You check the other two doors.
- > escape cave already
- You run back to the entrance and throw the second key through the door. You rush
- out of the cave and back to the surface. You run through the forest until you
- find a road. You walk along it and soon arrive at an old house. You climb up
- the ladder and enter the front door.
- > take Timmy inside
- You quickly grab the dog from you and lead him inside. You set the door open
- and lock it. You then turn to Timmy who is sitting patiently waiting for you.
- You pet his head and stroke his mane. You give him a kiss on his forehead and
- then you hug him tightly. You both stand up and walk over to the sofa. You sit
- down and watch TV together.
- > watch cartoons
- You spend hours watching cartoons together. You laugh and cry together. You are
- happy. You are alive. You will survive this ordeal.
- > live happily ever after
- Years pass...
- The world has changed.
- A new threat has arisen. A race of creatures known as the Zodiacs have taken
- control of the world. They have enslaved all those they have conquered and turned
- them into slaves. The only ones left are you and Timmy. You must fight to regain
- freedom for the people of the world.
