  1. YOU ARE THY DUNGEONMAN! Ye find yeself in yon dungeon. Ye see a SCROLL. Behind
  2. ye scroll is a FLASK. Obvious exits are NORTH, SOUTH and DENNIS.
  3.  
  4. The scrawl reads:
  5. NORTH
  6. Enter through the north exit.
  7.  
  8. SOUTH
  9. Enter through the south exit.
  10.  
  11. DENNIS
  12. Enter through the Dennis exit.
  13.  
  14. The scroll reads:
  15. Dennis Exit
  16. Exit to the right.
  17. Exit to the left.
  18. Exit to nowhere.
  19.  
  20. > get ye flask
  21.  
  22. You grab the flask from the scroll and open it up. Inside you find a small, but
  23. potent potion. It doesn't do much for you, but it does help you out of this
  24. predicament. You don't have long though, as the voice calls to you again.

  26. > go Dennis
  27.  
  28. You head down the stairs and enter the basement. You walk around the corner and
  29. into the room with the lever that opens the trapdoor. There's a ladder leading
  30. up there, but you're not sure if you can reach it without getting hurt.

  32. > pull lever
  33.  
  34. You pull the lever and the trapdoor swings open. You climb down the ladder and
  35. onto the ground floor.

  37. > follow voice
  38.  
  39. You hear a voice calling your name. You turn around and look at the door and
  40. see a figure standing behind it. He looks like he has a lot on his mind.
  41. "Who are you?" He asks.
  42. "I'm sorry? Who are you?" You ask.
  43. "I am the Dungeon Master. I found you here".
  44.  
  45. > ask what he wants
  46.  
  47. "What do you want me to do?"
  48. "I need you to go to the library and search for books about magic and alchemy.
  49. I think they might be able to help you".
  50. "Okay..". You say. "Where should I start looking?"
  51.  
  52. > go to library
  53.  
  54. You head over to the library and start searching through the shelves. After a
  55. few minutes of searching, you come across an old book called 'The Book Of The
  56. Dead'. You pick it up and begin reading it.
  57.  
  58. > read book
  59.  
  60. After finishing the book, you put it back in its place and continue searching.
  61. Eventually, you find a book called 'The Book Of Shadows' and read it. This one
  62. is very different than the other two. It seems to focus more on the shadows
  63. themselves rather than their creation. It also mentions how the shadows were
  64. created by some sort of experiment gone wrong.

  66. > look at ye flask
  67.  
  68. You take a quick glance at the flask and notice that it's covered in a thick
  69. layer of dust. You quickly wipe it off and throw it away. You then decide to
  70. check out the rest of the house first.

  74. You move into the kitchen and look around. You find a large table, several chairs,
  75. a stove and a refrigerator. You sit down at the table and look around.

  77. > get comfortable
  78.  
  79. You slowly get up and move towards the fridge. You open it up and find a bottle
  80. of wine inside. You pour yourself a glass and enjoy the taste.
  81.  
  82. > forget what you came here for
  83.  
  84. You stop enjoying the wine and just stare blankly ahead. You feel like you've
  85. forgotten all about the dungeon master. You try to remember, but you can't quite
  86. remember right now.

  90. You shake your head and sigh. You know the game isn't really over yet, so why
  91. bother playing it? You close your eyes and drift off to sleep.

  93. > play Stinkoman 20X6 instead
  94.  
  95. You wake up and realize you forgot something important. You look around and see
  96. a note on the table. It reads:

  98. > "Hey, stupid, did you forget what game you're playing? This is a text adventure, not a sidescroller! Get it together." the note says.

  100. You look again and realize you forgot the rules too. You sigh and shove the
  101. sheet of paper in your pocket.

  103. > go back to dungeon

  105. You return to the dungeon and find the lever to open the trapdoor. You push it
  106. and the trapdoor slides open. You step inside and find yourself in a dark hallway.
  107. You can't even make out the end of it. You keep walking forward until you find
  108. a door with a picture of a man on it. On the wall next to the door is a button.
  109.  
  110. > press button
  111.  
  112. You press the button and a panel slides open. A light shines through and reveals
  113. a staircase. You descend the staircase and soon find yourself in a dimly lit
  114. bedroom. You stand in awe as you see a bed and a dresser. You wonder who could
  115. possibly be sleeping in here...
  116.  
  117. > look at bed
  118.  
  119. You look at the bed and see a woman dressed in red clothing lying on it. She
  120. looks like she's asleep, but her eyes seem wide awake. You don't recognize her
  121. face, but you assume it must be someone important.
  122.  
  123. > poke woman with stick
  124.  
  125. You grab a stick from the nightstand and point it at the woman. She doesn't react,
  126. but you still do it anyway.

  128. > wave stick around

  130. You wave the stick around in front of the woman. Nothing happens.
  131.  
  132. > do impressive poses
  133.  
  134. You raise your hands high above your head and wiggle them around. You also wave
  135. your arms around in various ways. You are impressed with yourself.
  136.  
  137. > wake up woman
  138.  
  139. You suddenly wake up the woman in the room. She sits up and sees you standing
  140. there.
  141.  
  142. > attempt to impress lady

  144. You smile and wave your hand in front of her face. She stares at you for a moment
  145. and then nods.
  146.  
  147. > be really awesome
  148.  
  149. You nod and say "I'm awesome". You then walk over to the dresser and pull out
  150. a small bag. You toss it to the woman and she takes it. She opens it and pulls
  151. out a key ring. She puts it on her finger and walks out of the room. You think
  152. you're pretty cool for being stuck in a boring room.

  154. > win at everything
  155.  
  156. You laugh and say "Yeah, I am". You then start thinking about how you're going
  157. to escape this place. You have no idea where to begin though.

  161. You decide to escape the dungeon. You need to figure out how to get out of here.
  162. You have no idea where the exit might be. You look around and find a bookcase
  163. and a door. The bookcase has books on it, but they're all locked. You also find
  164. a door which leads outside. You think you'll try the door. You open the door
  165. and step outside.
  166.  
  167. > breathe in fresh air
  168.  
  169. You exhale and take a deep breath. You notice that the air smells different.
  170. You can't tell if it's because it's fresh or if it's because it's outside. You
  171. turn around and see a bright light shining in the distance. You can't wait to
  172. explore it.

  174. > head towards a bright shining future
  175.  
  176. You run towards the light. You reach it and it's blinding. You fall down the
  177. stairs and into a hole. You roll onto your stomach and crawl under some rocks.
  178. You lie there for awhile and think about what you should do next.
  179.  
  180. > oh nevermind then
  181.  
  182. You sit up and stare at the hole in the ground. You think about how you'd love
  183. to just leave this place behind forever. Then you remember that you have a sword
  184. nearby. You could use it to kill yourself. You would be free.
  185.  
  186. > nah I'm good

  188. You shake off the thought and continue exploring the cave. You come across another
  189. opening leading deeper into the cave. You follow the path deeper into the cave.
  190. Eventually you come across a large chamber with several stone pillars supporting
  191. a ceiling made of smooth rock. There is a door at the other side of the chamber.
  192.  
  193. > look for the end of the game
  194.  
  195. You go back and forth between the two doors. You know you've already explored
  196. half of the cave, so you know you haven't found the end yet. You hear something
  197. moving near the door. It sounds like a human. You cautiously approach the door
  198. and peer inside. The thing is huge. It stands nearly ten feet tall and covered
  199. in fur.

  202.  
  203. You pick up the creature by its scruff and hold it close to you. It lets out
  204. a low growl as you hold it. You whisper in its ear and make it relax. You put
  205. your arm around it and feel its body. Its fur feels soft against yours. It's
  206. big enough to carry away, but not too heavy. You put it on your shoulder and
  207. start walking.

  209. > name it Timmy

  211. You call him Timmy and he grunts happily. He follows you around the corner of
  212. the cavern. You enter the chamber and see a table with a bunch of keys on top.
  213. You pick one and the door swings open. Inside is a long hallway. At the far
  214. end is a door with a large sign hanging on it. It reads: "Door to Death".

  218. You stop and think about what you want to do next. You realize that you have
  219. no clue what to do now. You could stay here and die. Or you could try to escape.
  220. You decide to try to escape. You grab the nearest object and throw it through
  221. the door. It hits the wall and makes a loud thud. You check the other two doors.
  222.  
  223. > escape cave already
  224.  
  225. You run back to the entrance and throw the second key through the door. You rush
  226. out of the cave and back to the surface. You run through the forest until you
  227. find a road. You walk along it and soon arrive at an old house. You climb up
  228. the ladder and enter the front door.

  230. > take Timmy inside
  231.  
  232. You quickly grab the dog from you and lead him inside. You set the door open
  233. and lock it. You then turn to Timmy who is sitting patiently waiting for you.
  234. You pet his head and stroke his mane. You give him a kiss on his forehead and
  235. then you hug him tightly. You both stand up and walk over to the sofa. You sit
  236. down and watch TV together.

  240. You spend hours watching cartoons together. You laugh and cry together. You are
  241. happy. You are alive. You will survive this ordeal.

  245. Years pass...
  246. The world has changed.
  247. A new threat has arisen. A race of creatures known as the Zodiacs have taken
  248. control of the world. They have enslaved all those they have conquered and turned
  249. them into slaves. The only ones left are you and Timmy. You must fight to regain
  250. freedom for the people of the world.
