- To craft magic items, you need "Essence". As part of a quest reward, the DM may declare that the players have found Essence, which will have a rarity and a category. Rarities are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, and Legendary; while categories are Armor, Weapons, Rings, "Magic Sticks" (combining wands, staves, and rods), Wondrous Items, and Universal (any item). The player may then use this Essence as the component portion for *any* magic item they desire of the rarity and category. For example, a Rare Weapon Essence can be the magical component for a Flametongue Greatsword or a +2 Halberd.
- Then, using the Essence and a gold and downtime cost in accordance with the table below, you may craft your magic item.
