BackgroundI remember being born into a small village. I cant remember much else other than hearing my mother discussing with a tall man about late payments, shortly after he came into my small room and told me" Hey pup, My name is Rain Greeves. I dont think your mother is able to afford taking care of both you and herself, and I dont think any of us want your mother to starve do we?" I nod. "Excelent! Then it's decided, you'll come live with me." That was the last day I saw my birth mother. It didn't really click on what happened that day until i was much older. Mr. Rain did a good job of keeping me busy so i didnt have a lot of chances to really think of my mother and before i knew it i had forgotten what she looked like.
For my first few years Mr. Rain would spend time with me each day teaching me how to hunt and how to be a propper man. He looked really young for someone who acted so wise, but I didnt really question it at the time. I had no reason to question anything. My life has strictly gotten better.Even though he stressed how important it was that I become a proper man, he would also play games like hide and seek with me fairly often.
The mansion was so big i'd sometimes stumble upon a new part I never knew existed but somehow he'd find me anyway. One day he didnt, and i was in this small room i found behind some book shelves for over an hour now so i decided i wanted to look around. It mostly just looked like a study but it was hard to tell any detailed with the lights off, so i felt around the walls for some sort of torch. Eventually finding one, I light it.
It was pretty much what i was expecting, just your average study, but once i got closer to the books I noticed that they weren't novels but actually research notes about something called immortality and how he theorizes that he can switch consiousness with someone so his mind can live on. He feels his brain to too important to lose to time. He wants to invent and create a new world, but to do that he has to keep learning and studying. At this point im starting to feel really impressed and proud of how cool my dad is. As i keep reading i get to the cost he has to pay, he needs to offer 3 Hearts of healtly boys, 3 2 Headed-Snake heads, 3 Eristris Stones and Lastly the body he's forcing his mind intoThe research shows his 3 expariments, The first one didnt have a very strong body so he was only able to last in that body for 2 years, The second was a women and the new body rejected him so he was only able to use that body for 1 month and lastly the last one is the body of my late father, It seems they were rediculously compatable, but as the ritual is happening my father stabbed himself making the body very weak. It seems like he's grooming me to become his next body. I start to panic and as i do i end up lighting some of his research and other books on fire, i panic even more and stumble around creating a lot of noise. within 30 second i can hear him running over. He knocks down the door, We make eye contact. He smiles at me" I'm sorry you had to see this. I was hoping we'd get atleast 10 more years to grow and get to know each other" " You remind me a lot of your father""HOW DARE YOU BRING HIM AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO HIM" I yell
"My pup, you dont understand. This was his idea, he told me my brain is too unique to lose to time. He was my best freind, I couldnt fail him."He starts to close in on me. I quickly pick up the torch and hurl it at his face, as he goes to cover his face and catch it; I run and slide under his legs and try to make an escape.
He chases me very effortlessly, I realize i cant lose him and if i want to break out i need to gain some sort of advantage. I think back at everything he taught me, I think about the times we sparred. one time i hit him in his left hip and he fell a lot harder than usual. Im willing to bet thats where my father stabbed himself.
I look around for anything sharp, i dont see anything but a mirror, so i run into and rush to grab a piece to use on him. "Kit, it doesnt have to be this way" i dont let him finish, my adrenaline is pumping and i lunge at him. he slightly deflects but i still manage to take him down. I roll away from him and run to break away. notice he's not really resisting, and when i look back the look in his eyes and switched from an angery look to a more defeated and dissapointed one. That look still haunts me.I made it out of the house without anything more than small scratches.
