The Designated Marksman is one of the most balanced classes, easy to play if the RPer's skill is high enough.

9mm Combat Pistol
x1 Combat Knife (12-inch)

60% "Steady" Recoil-compensating medium armor (+5 to D20 accuracy rolls)
"Steady" gloves
"Boost" boots (Helps DM run faster by the shoes being more comfortable

M40C Gas Mask
3 magazine pouches, two of which are First Choice
Half-mask (cannot be worn with gas mask, serves better purpose when in non-deadly but toxic fumes)
"Swift" backpack (Carries 40 pounds of weight, single strap backpack)
