  16. Class Skills: Acrobatics (Dex), Athletics (Str), Dungeoneering (Wis), Endurance (Con), History (Int), Thievery (Dex).
  17.
  18. Build Options: Cannonbearer Dragoon, Shieldbearer Dragoon, Lancebearer Dragoon (WIP).
  19. Class features: Draconic Vigil & Countershot, Gunbreaker, Personal Modifications.
  20. _____
  21.
  22. Concept: Heavily-armored gunmen either using them illicitly or to REALLY push themselves and their equipment to the limit to help friends. Alternatively, that's just how soldiers roll where they come from, because their tech is just that juiced. Anyways, go out there and beat ass, because you are VERY COOL and smart and sexy and the fucking strong.
  23.
  24. From times long before, the late Aetherian Empire had been feared for their use of technology bolstered by magic, especially in the use of weapons. Blessed and empowered by the will of their Queen Gunnhildr, the frontline knights and riders who used these arms came to be known as "dragoons".
  25.
  26. In the days of now, the term itself has not seen much use. Still, curious gadgeteers and inheritors of tradition alike carry the flame of the empire's legacy onwards. With heavy armor and armaments akin to those warriors of the past, the title of dragoon lives on. Their gunbreakers, act as sword and bow both, deterring foes from approaching their allies and mounting a new offensive on their own.
  27.
  28. Whether they seek to uphold the weight of such a name, or to forge a path forward, that decision remains theirs to make.
  29. _____
  30.
  31. Draconic Vigil & Countershot
  32. Nearby enemies cannot escape your watchful eyes, and you will intercept any enemy who dare harm your allies. You gain the Draconic Vigil power and the Countershot power.
  33.
  34. |Draconic Vigil (Dragoon Feature)
  35. |"You impose your presence upon the battlefield, hindering your foes' efforts to attack, and providing a bulwark for your allies to stand behind."
  36. |At-Will - Aura, Martial
  37. |Minor Action, Personal
  38. |EFFECT: You activate an aura 5 that lasts until you end it as a minor action or until you fall unconscious. While in the aura, any enemy that is not already marked becomes marked by you (if there's ever a tie because there's overlapping instances of these, I'd better figure out what the clarification text is for that!).
  39.
  40. |Countershot (Dragoon Feature)
  41. |"You fire a shot to disrupt a foe's attack."
  42. |At-Will - Martial, Weapon
  43. |Immediate Interrupt, Ranged 10 or melee weapon
  44. |TRIGGER: An enemy marked by you makes an attack that does not include you as a target OR an enemy attacks an ally in your draconic vigil.
  45. | Effect: Make a basic attack against the triggering enemy. It does not provoke opportunity attacks, and you apply one of the following effects:
  46. | * If the triggering ally is in your draconic vigil: Reduce the damage taken by that ally from this attack only by 2.
  47. | * If the triggering enemy is in your draconic vigil: The triggering enemy gets a -2 penalty on their attack roll for that attack only.
  48.
  49. Gunbreaker
  50. The dragoon possesses a special weapon- A gadget known as a gunbreaker which they are always proficient in. Due to the complexity of individual gunbreakers, only the dragoon can use a gunbreaker of their own making, and the feat "Weapon Proficiency" cannot be used to obtain proficiency in gunbreakers.
  51.
  52. The gunbreaker is a superior two-handed melee and ranged weapon of the gun weapon group (maybe this a bad idea) that has a proficiency bonus of +3, a damage dice of 1d8, and the load free property, regardless of whatever weapon (if any) is attached to it. When making ranged attacks with this weapon, it has a range of 10/15.
  53. A gunbreaker can have up to 1 appropriately-sized one-handed weapon of the spear, heavy blade, light blade, axe, hammer, or mace weapon group attached to it, and gains its weapon group(s), enhancement bonus, and any magical properties or powers.
  54. Should a dragoon lose their gunbreaker, they may create a new one during an extended rest.
  55.
  56. DEVNOTE: Basically, you have a special weapon, and any one-handed spear, heavy blade, light blade, axe, hammer, or mace is also your special weapon. This is so I can have a cool-looking weapon that is functional. I'm sure there's a better way to implement a gun into the game, however. Also, it lets me potentially design gun-exclusive enchantments, but I think this is already a terrible, horrible idea.
  57. Change from before: The gunbreaker's damage dice reduced from 1d10 to 1d8.
  58.
  59. Personal Modifications
  60. CHOOSE ONE of the following personal modifications.
  61.
  62. Heavy Loader
  63. You have tuned your gunbreaker's ammunition into packing a more powerful punch with each hit.
  64. You gain a +2 bonus to the damage rolls of ranged powers using your gunbreaker. The bonus increases +4 at 11th level, and +6 at 21st level.
  65.
  66. Mounted Shield
  67. You attached a shield onto your gunbreaker and have grown accustomed to its weight, allowing you to better guard against incoming attacks.
  68. While using your gunbreaker, you are also considered to wield a heavy shield and gain a +2 shield bonus to AC.
  69.
  70. Dragon Killer (WIP)
  71. You have extended your gunbreaker's barrel, increasing your reach.
  72. You can make an opportunity attack against any enemy within its reach that provokes an opportunity attack. (Threatening reach, in other words; this should not be in the final product)
  73.
