  1. Appearance:
  2. Kyaeli Tathrina is on the smaller side of wood elf. She stands a few inches short of five feet and weighs less than 100 pounds soaking wet. Elves are normally thin and lithe, giving them a very graceful look. However, Kyaeli seems just bit underweight for her kind, as though she is not eating enough to maintain a healthy weight and almost looks sickly at times. As such, she looks almost androgynous if not examined closely. She is 119 years old, having been born over a century ago, though physically she looks at about 19 human years old. Her skin is fair, lighter than that is typical of a wood elf which tends to be more toward copperish in color. Her brown hair is short, just going passed her neck and is usually done in a ponytail. Her eyes are brown in color as well. Her typical clothing is traveler’s wear, but they are not one seen from Adipea or the mainland. It is handmade, much like the leather armor she wears over the clothing.

  4. History:
  5. Kyaeli was the product of a complicated birth back in her home village. She was born a few months premature, sickly and weak, something that was uncommon in Elven communities. Her parents thought that she might not make it the night when she was born. Her life was hanging by a thread, right on death's door. To everyone's surprise, she made it through the night and many more afterwards. However, it was only the beginning of her trials that fate put before her. Due to her birth, growing up was difficult for Kyaeli due to life at the village. Things that were almost taken for granted by her peers proved almost too much for her, reducing her to haggard breaths and often getting sick and unable to play. She was barely able to draw a shortbow when she came old enough to use one. Using a longbow was out of the question. It was not long before the village started to pity her silently. They saw her as lacking, inferior and weak. What kind of elf can barely pull back a bow? She wanted to prove that she is a capable person and was not going to let her limitations get the better of her.

  7. As Kyaeli got older, she practiced as hard as she can, trying to get her health up to the point where she can keep up with her peers. It worked, for the most part. She was not as weak as before, but when someone was only fatigued, she was outright exhausted in the effort. It also did not help that she stopped growing, making her stuck at 4'8 even where everyone else was pushing 6'0 and taller. It meant that she was forever locked out of using a longbow. Being too proud to use a shortbow, she wanted to find something that would help her match her peers. One day, she got her wish. As she was exploring the area, she ran into a merchant caravan that stopped to rest nearby. After getting over the initial shock that a moon elf can be so small, they shown Kyaeli their wares. Looking through it, she saw an odd contraption. It was a heavy crossbow, nice and new on the shelf. After a bit of bartering, she managed to walk away with it with dozen bolts. Granted, it was much heavier than any bow she held, it was usable for someone of her stature and strength (the crossbow had mechanisms to make drawing the crossbow easier). Finally, she would have something that can match the elves back home. Night and day, she would practice using it, trying to get used to the weight and power until she can fire it with little problem (recoil is a bitch at times). She thought that her village would respect her. She was mistaken. They scoffed at her purchase of such a contraption. An elf using a dwarven weapon such as a crossbow was laughable, hilarious even. She swore that she was going to prove them wrong and make something of herself. That day, she left the village to set off her own path to prove that she was not weak, hearing about the strange magic that was coming from adipea.

  9. Skills:
  10. Kyaeli had always been a great tracker when it comes to finding prey or even just knowing the land in general. She would make a fantastic scout, especially since that she would rather sleep with the stars over her head. It just felt right to her. She can hunt well too, though it required more energy to find the prey and get the first shot to kill it. It is a good thing she carries such a massive crossbow to ensure that provided that she does not miss. She is also, surprisingly, good with medicine. The medicine she learned to make had been use to keep herself just well enough to function as the ranger she is. She picked it up mostly from being on her own when she left her enclave, treating wounds from whatever scrape that befell her. She is capable of some magic, drawing from nature itself to augment her abilities and to make sure she has something to eat when in a pinch.

  13. Personality:
  14. 1. Kyaeli is stubborn and can be VERY determine if she puts her mind to something. She does not believe in ‘cannot’, something that she was told a lot back home. To her, there is always a way to overcome something and they just have to try.
  15.
  16. 2. Kyaeli feels as though she is unattractive to most people and is jealous of those she perceives as prettier than her. It reminds her of her insecurities that she is not as developed as some of her peers.
  17.
  18. Short Term Goals: A personal quest to get stronger and hopes that traveling will help with that.
  19.
  20. Long Term Goals: Return home to show the village just how great she is and to prove that anyone can do anything if they try.
  21.
  22. Flaws: She is weak and sickly with abysmally low stamina for a ranger. She is quick but it is VERY easy for her to burn out her reserves and some cases collapse, gasping for breath. Despite that, she will still try to get up and keep going.
  23.
  24. Dark Secrets: None
  25.
  26. Enemies: None really. She does not like pissing people off regularly
  27.
  28. Opinions on fats: Kyaeli does not understand why people would want to be fat. She came from an elven village where people mostly lived off the land in a hunter-gatherer style. Why would people get fat is completely foreign to her.
