- Eric: I'll edit the OP to say that it's mostly resolved
- Eric: I'd still like the keyfiles first though
- Lee Benson: mostly*
- Lee Benson: If i give you the key files now
- Eric: and I would like permission to release them
- Eric: to the public
- Lee Benson: Your able to host before the other hosters
- Lee Benson: then they would complain
- Lee Benson: just like you did
- Eric:
- Eric: and I would like permission to release them
- Eric: to the public
- Lee Benson: In what way are you going to give them to the public
- Lee Benson: I've given one person the permission to release these files to the public
- Lee Benson: and that is ayan
- Eric: I intend to edit the OP and post links to the key files
- Eric: and I will say that the issue is fully resolved then, because it will be.
- Eric: besides you and icebreakr, but I would be just as guilty as you are then if your maps are public.
- Lee Benson: icebreakr has complained about something with again is completely incorrect
- Lee Benson: He stated that we have taken his map and re-branded it etc...
- Lee Benson: using it to make money
- Lee Benson: Again couldn't be further from the truth
- Lee Benson: If you take alook at lingor
- Lee Benson: which is another map that he has created
- Lee Benson: you will see that the entire map has been re-compiled and released
- Lee Benson: re-signed
- Lee Benson: without his permission
- Lee Benson: he didn't complain about that
- Eric: because the key was released as well.
- Lee Benson: indeed
- Lee Benson: but i cant just release keys like that
- Lee Benson: i need a valid, stable source to release the keys from
- Eric: um... why not?
- Lee Benson: one that i know will be there 24/7
- Lee Benson: This is the reason for the website
- Eric: your website isn't reliable?
- Eric: these are starting to sound like excuses now lol
- Lee Benson: It's not yet developed fully
- Lee Benson: If you want to take it like that
- Lee Benson: you can do
- Lee Benson: however i find that your more interested in cause more issues
- Lee Benson: that correct them
- Lee Benson: then*
- Lee Benson: So before i continue
- Eric: I mean you're trying to tell me you have to develop a huge website to release some 4KB keyfiles
- Lee Benson: Eric i don't just want to release the keys
- Eric: I know you don't, and that's the problem.
- Lee Benson: i want to make sure everyone has the correct files and mod with the keys
- Lee Benson: and the server files included
- Eric: which is why the issue isn't resolved.
- Lee Benson: There are changes within the server files to correctly support the map
- Lee Benson: To you they are not resolved
- Lee Benson: and to other server providers they are not resolved
- Lee Benson: I am trying my hardest to resolve all of these issues
- Lee Benson: however i can-not keep going around in circles
- Lee Benson: i am sorry if i can not just resolve these issues with a click of my fingers
- Lee Benson: but i am trying to
- Eric: you are choosing not to... and I understand why
- Lee Benson: All i can say is that i will speak with ayan and try to push to get these files released A.S.A.P
- Eric: but you are still choosing not to.
- Lee Benson: okay, why do you think i am not releasing the files?
- Eric: because you want full control over the maps and you don't want anyone else to be able to host them unless you've told ayan it is ok
- Lee Benson: well
- Lee Benson: I am sorry you feel that way
- Lee Benson: As i keep trying to explain
- Eric: yes you want to be able to police and quality control the maps
- Lee Benson: I've released the server files to Ayan
- Lee Benson: he is releasing them now
- Eric: is what you've explained to me
- Lee Benson: with the correct server side modifications to ensure the map functions correctly
- Eric: exactly
- Lee Benson: I am not going to release a mod which is broken
- Lee Benson: it will create more work
- Lee Benson: I've told ayan he can release it when ever he wants
- Lee Benson: and give it out to the public when ever he wants
- Eric: but nobody else can?
- Lee Benson: there is no control over this
- Lee Benson: I don't control ayan
- Lee Benson: i don't control anything
- Lee Benson: If i was to give you the keys
- Lee Benson: you would run the mod with the modified server files?
- Eric: personally, I would wait for ayan to support them with bliss unless he took more than a couple weeks then I would write my own.
- Lee Benson: i mean i have released the server files to him
- Lee Benson: write your own then
- Lee Benson: ayan is going to get this done as soon as he can
- Eric: I need the key files or I have to turn off signature verification
- Lee Benson: but i would prefair not to push him
- Lee Benson: or anyone
- Lee Benson: i am doing everything i can do
- Lee Benson: I want everyone to but supportive from one aspect here
- Lee Benson: Everyone to run the correct files so the end user has the best gameplay
- Lee Benson: without issues
- Lee Benson: that's all
- Lee Benson: You don't just need the keys
- Lee Benson: you also need the server files
- Eric: I mean you don't have to give me a wave of excuses, you already said "I don't want to release the key files" so that's the answer - I'm not going to tell everyone the issue is resolved though.
- Lee Benson: If i release the server files to you
- Lee Benson: i have to release it to 1000s of other people
- Eric: yes, you do.
- Lee Benson: indeed
- Lee Benson: This is why i gave ayan the server files
- Lee Benson: and the keys
- Lee Benson: to release to the public
- Lee Benson: because everyone already goes there and uses his bliss
- Eric: there are lots of other private hives than bliss
- Lee Benson: I like ayan
- Lee Benson: and i have given him permission
- Lee Benson: to release it
- Eric: you're acting as an arbiter and trying to control the distribution of your map, which is the underlying concern
- Lee Benson: I am not trying to control anything
- Eric: I personally don't care what your motivations are, and you're free to do whatever you want - but the issue isn't resolved until the keyfiles are public.
- Lee Benson: if you don't want to use the map
- Lee Benson: then don't use it
- Eric: so I'm not going to tell people it is.
- Lee Benson: Eric
- Lee Benson: Can i ask you, why don't you understand what i am saying?
- Lee Benson: It's a very simple concept
- Lee Benson: I've given the files to Bliss and Ayan
- Eric: I really do lol, you want to make sure that anyone who hosts your map is able to play it properly how you intended it to be played
- Lee Benson: for them to release it
- Lee Benson: indeed
- Eric: and if ayan releases them all, then it's fine
- Eric: but he already said he's not supporting panthera
- Lee Benson: Yes but i have no control over when he does release it
- Lee Benson: He is going to support panthera
- Lee Benson: and he is going to support all the other maps
- Eric: that's not what he told me. not your version anyway
- Eric: said he's supporting mrsherenai's version, unless you two have come to an agreement about that as well
- Lee Benson: I am currently speaking with mysherenai right now
- Lee Benson: that's already sorted and resolved
- Lee Benson: please read the forums
- Eric: I did
- Eric: I see that he supports you
- Lee Benson: indeed
- Eric: people still can't play his version of panthera with your version of the map
- Eric: so it's not resolved.
- Eric: this really is a circular argument, if you're not willing to release the keys then that's fine
- Eric: publicly
- Eric: but I'm not going to tell everyone that everything is fixed just yet. When ayan releases them I will.
