  1. 7/7/2013 - Knights of Civilization Battle Report
  2.
  3. At around 16:00 EvE time we fleeted up to have some fun in our Sunday Buffet fleet. We noticed that Aubenall and Renarelle were above 90% contestation. I headed out there in a stealth bomber and was cloaked up providing eyes in these systems as well as a few surrounding. A few members from KCIV joined up in the fleet and soon joined me in Aubenall to help capture the last plexes and hopefully start flipping the system. While we were plexing, numbers of Gallente Militia pilots began joining in. I joined the Gallente Militia teamspeak and was communicating with leadership while giving my fleet their own sets of instructions. Once we got Aubenall vulnerable, I volunteered KCIV to hold any plexes in the system and maintain the vulnerable status while Gal Mil changed ships for the iHub bash. Gal Mil was currently engaged in another fleet battle so we had to hold for a little while until they wrapped up and sent in the cavalry. While my boys were holding Aubenall plexes, I was scouting neighboring systems and relaying info to Gal Mil and my small fleet. KCIV was acting as a small hit squad while we worked to capture these systems. While I scouted and provided intel for both my fleet and the Gal Mil, one of my fleetmembers, Doghouse Vaultdweller, stepped up to be my squad leader and keep everyone in check. He did a fantastic job spreading the squad among plexes to get all the timers counting down, and also pulled everyone together when a slightly larger team was needed to scare hostiles away.

  5. While I bashed the hub in my stealth bomber and my fleet ran complexes to keep Aubenall vulnerable, I was asked to scout a neighboring system, Renarelle. I warped in and was the only friendly there. I pulled my fleet into Renarelle and we started to work the complexs here. We were so close to vulnerable that we did not want hostiles to take any plexes in the system. Here is where I made a critical mistake and decided to take my stealth bomber into a plex and run down the timer. As I activated the acceleration gate a pirate destroyer landed on gate. I was already committed to taking the gate and knew he would be following me. Immediately after I landed I attempted to warp to the sun but before I could warp (or cloak; too close to the beacon), I was scrambled in my glass cannon and turned into a firework. I was forced to leave the battlefield and reship. I chose to come back in my navy comet to provide a little more firepower inside the complexes.

  7. While I was reshipping and Connway Constigan had taken command of running timers down in Renarelle, the Gallente Militia (with the help of one of KCIV's Megathron pilots) was able to finish off the iHub in Aubenall. Our megathron left the field, jumping through gatecamps to reship into his own frigate. It was time for some ewar support. Rounding off our frigate gang at 2 Tristans, 2 Comets, and a Griffin. We were a force to be reckoned with.

  9. We got the chance to test out metal when a cruiser gang jumped into Renarelle. We had landed on the gate of a complex and they were there waiting for us. I told my fleet to take the acceleration gate. 5 frigates vs 10 cruisers was not going to end well. Just after I had told them to take the gate. I heard Gallente Militia say they were in warp... well crap. My guys had just warped away and I had managed to cancel my warp in time. I tackled the nearest cruiser while backup warped in and my fleet was bouncing back out to get in on the action. We cleaned up the cruisers that we had tackled while others warped away. Another fight and more glory for Gallente.

  11. KCIV members were able to make it in on 2 kills.

  14.
  15. We ran plexes in Renarelle until all that was left was a medium complex. As we ran the timer down, a 30 man Caldari destroyer gang jumped into our system. Only 2 minutes left on the medium, we can get it. They landed on the acceleration gate. 1:30 left on the timer. This was going to be interesting. I had my fleet align to the warpgate to the next system. 30 seconds left. Those bastards were going to come in with 1 second left. Wrong, they came in with 10 left. We warped away knowing the enemy would be in the complex we had just left for around 40 minutes. We set up camp next door in Vlillerier and waited for the main Gallente fleet to come up with a game plan. Whatever move they made. KCIV would be right there with them. A small squad of frigates ready to bring the pain, or explode trying.

  17. Gallente militia got things organized and regrouped on the Renarelle gate. Things were going to get heated pretty soon and my little hit squad was waiting and ready.

  19. We Jumped.
  20.
  21. We warped to the medium complex we had left the enemy in and landed on the gate. A short while later we had our full force. We activated the acceleration gate and mad our move. As we landed in the complex the hostiles warped away. The chase was on. We followed them into a small complex. They warped away but the militia was able to catch a Corax on the gate. Poof... explosion! Okay, we can do this. A few more jumps and we end up back at the small complex. Only this time, they stay and fight. They are at brawling range and Gallente militia had a fleet equiped for medium to long range. Well crap. I crumbled at the number of people on the field. I could not follow the commands being yelled in my ear for primary targets and relay them to my squad. “Free fire! Attack anything you can.” That was it. There were near 100 pilots in this small complex. Lasers, missiles, and projectiles the size of small dogs(or large cats) sprayed the field. It was chaos and I had crumbled. I new my squad was new to FW and this was a fight of the likes they had never seen. But I had taught them well and they did not go down without a fight. KCIV was wiped off the field but we walked away involved on a few kills. Some of them firsts for our “elite” hit squad.

  33. Not too bad considering our level of FW experience. The knowledge we gained from this day was great. At the end of the day we ended up on 11 killmails and had helped the Gallente Militia destroy 2 iHubs and flip systems our way. We participated in a near 100 man battle as a small hit squad. We rose to challenges and joined in on the cause. I am proud of my knights. KCIV is here and we mean to make ourselves known. Fly Dangerous, I know we will!
