- Eight of them were with him, all clad in Ultramarines blue but bearing the markings of the Unnumbered Sons of Guilliman, First Company, First Battalion. They split fluidly, exhibiting the same coordination as a flock of avians evading predators, bolt rifles aimed, but it was not they who opened fire first.
- The first of Areios' warriors went down before he could loose a shot, breastplate shattered by five perfectly aimed bolt-rounds, both hearts obliterated. The traitor was already moving on to the next Intercessor as the Sons of Guilliman returned fire.
- The corridor filled with the flame trails of bolt-rounds. The Terminator carried a twin-linked pattern of antique sort, and was firing in burst mode, conserving his ammunition. Even so, the gun had a ferocious appetite, and the Terminator advanced as he fired, wading through the storm of shrapnel to engage at close range. Another of Areios' Primaris Marines made the ultimate sacrifice to the Emperor.
- The Terminator's weapon ran dry, and he charged. It was pointless trying to fight the traitor with combat knives, so the Intercessors fell back by twos, firing constantly at the warrior until his plastron was a cratered, smoking mess of shattered ceramite. One of Areios' men made the mistake of pausing to reload while he was too close, and paid with his life. The Terminator lumbered into him, lightning-wreathed fist swung in a hammer's arc, hitting the warrior on the pauldron. The combination of impact and disruption field obliterated the Space Marine's left side, so much energy liberated that his fire partner was thrown into the wall. He failed to get up in time, and the enemy stamped his arm flat, pinning the warrior to the ground, and finished him with a punch to the head.
- Areios ran at the traitor as he straightened from the downward blow, let himself drop, skidded past the Terminator in a shower of sparks. As he passed he tossed a krak grenade at the enemy's leg, its mag-locks clamping it in place.
- The device imploded, shattering the armour and the leg beneath, and the Terminator toppled to the ground. Areios scrambled back to his feet, jammed his bolt rifle into the space between cowl and helm, and emptied his magazine. Shrapnel stripped armour of paint, cratering it to the point of compromise, as Areios fired and fired. The traitor's head snapped back and forth, fires caught in his battleplate, and he moved no more.
- ...
- Terminators ran into battle with the Primaris Space Marines. Power fists contacted with ceramite with the noise of heavy ordnance. A Primaris warrior was lifted from his feet, and hurled upwards, spinning from the impact, limp and lifeless, his chest destroyed completely, body burning with corrosive atomic dissolution. He crashed into a wall, loose organs shaken free, and landed dead, another of the Imperium's great hopes cast down.
