PS3 CFW Guides: CEX & DEX Kernel's the Easy Way

            CEX TO DEX

We will start with your PS3 first,

1: Put a usb stick in you PC and transfer:
   multiMAN ver 04.10.00 BASE CEX (20121104).pkg  (Or higher)
   eEID_RKDumper.pkg (3.55 only)
   REBUG-TOOLBOX-02.00.00.pkg (Or higher)

2: Put a usb stick in the far right port of your PS3

3: Install the new multiMAN ver 04.10.00 (.pkg) or update it

4: install Rebug toolbox 2.00.00 (.pkg)

5: install eEID RKDumper (.pkg)

6: Run eEID RKDumper and wait for your PS3 to shut down and restart

7: Run rebug toolbox and go to DEX/CEX and click on "Export Flash to file" and wait

8: Don't close rebug toolbox go to your PC and open your FTP program. Type in you Ps3: ip address and port: 21, user: anonymous, password: (anything)
   Then goto /dev_hdd0/tmp/ and you will find eid_root_key download it to a new folder (say on your desktop) the eid_root_key file should be about 48 bytes.

9: Take out the usb stick from your PS3 and turn it off :)

Now on to your PC,

1: Put in the usb stick in a usb port and transfer the ???.NANDBIN or ???.NORBIN file to the same place where you have the eid_root_key file.

2: Install Win32OpenSSL Light 1_0_1c

3: Goto the file where you have your ???.nandbin or ???.norbin and eid_root_key, Rename your original CEX dump (???.nandbin or ???.norbin) to CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN.bin (16mb) or CEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN.bin (239mb or 256mb)
   and your eid_root_key as dump. So now you should have two file's one called dump and the other called CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN.bin or CEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN.bin

4: Open the file cex2dex and right click on cex2dex.exe and run as admin. Click to find your NOR/NAND flash dump (CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN.bin or CEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN.bin)
   Now click on METLDR dump and find your dump file. Now go and click on [CEX -> DEX] and wait,
   Then save your new nand as DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN (16mb) or DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN (239mb or 256mb) Please note that the program will save it as
   DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN.bin (16mb) or DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN.bin (239mb or 256mb) So you wil have to remove the .bin

5: Now move the new file DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN or DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN to a CLEAN usb stick eg no other files on the usb stick

           PLEASE KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR EID_ROOT_KEY AND CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN or CEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Now back to your PS3,

1: Put the usb stick with your new DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN or DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN in the far right usb port and turn on you PS3

2: Now open up Rebug Toolbox and goto CEX/DEX and click on "Rewrite Target ID in Flash" Click ok/yes on all questions, Then wait for your PS3 to reboot.

           Now i hope all went ok ??? if so then YES!!! :) :) :)

3: Now oen Rebug Toolbox and goto CEX/DEX and click on "Swap LV2 Kernel" Click ok/yes on all questions, Then wait for your PS3 to reboot.

4: Now oen Rebug Toolbox and goto "System" and click on "System Information" and if all went well you should see;

   LV2 Kernel:  DEX
   Target Type: DEX
