🔹 personality: Do Junghwa is what could be described as "socially awkward" - in every sense possible. She possesses a set of distinctive traits that could describe nothing else.
She doesn't understand various social norms. It's rare that she actually knows exactly what to do and what NOT to do in social situations. She often doesn't know when it's OK to start the conversation again, what topics are suitable to talk of and when, and what is suited to joke about and what is not. Obviously, this somehow loveable lack of understanding can lead to either weird or shy behaviour later on.
Junghwa can have a different impact than originally intended. It's common for her to joke about something and others to find the joke uncalled for, or to try and give a compliment, only for it to come off in a distasteful way. In other words, she intends to generate one result, and ends up generating a totally different one. This mismatch is a sign of her deficiency of social calibration.

🔹 background: Do Junghwa was born on 25th April 1995 in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland, to a Korean father and a Korean-American mother.
Junghwa attended Clovenstone Primary School at the age of 4, the same year her brother was born. This was where her nickname "Jughwa" was founded - the name on her desk was spelled like that.
When she was 11, she left Clovenstone and attended Boroughmuir High School. This was when her parents started teaching her Korean, every night after school. She started getting interested in film studies [the first of her somewhat fanciful dreams] and began watching a lot of Korean films, not only for entertainment but to expose her to more of the language. Part of her wanted to pursue a career in film and eventually move on to directing films, while the other thought a lavish lifestyle as an actress was a growing option.
During the summer holidays of her second year in high school [Year 8, Grade 7] Junghwa's parents took her and her siblings with them to South Korea.
Junghwa felt unnaturally at home there. The city was so dense, yet the buzz was unreal. She was fascinated that her family came from the country, and was disappointed to go after only three days.
She returned back to Scotland with fresh dreams of a career in Korea in her mind, studying the language even harder as the months went by. Her GCSE's were creeping even closer, and she couldn't afford to be distracted. She wrote several songs and short stories in Hangul, and rewrote them with new dialogue every night. She was working herself too hard, anyone could see that.
She also started to listen to Korean pop music, in order to listen to faster and more varied words. She played music while studying, picking up words as she went along. Some of her favourite groups were Wonder Girls, Sunny Hill and KARA.
When she was 15, in 2009, her father decided to take her to a Wonder Girls concert in Korea. Of course, they had already taken over a lot of her life, and her interest in film was slipping away, slowly but surely. Her infatuation was evident and it got to a point where she wanted to pursue a career as a girl group trainee.
