  1. Q: What even is CCLP1?
  2. A: The 3rd community generated level pack for Chip's Challenge. I suspect this short answer asks more questions than it answers, so I'll elaborate a bit further. Chip's Challenge is a puzzle game originally released for the Atari Lynx, then later ported to Windows and released inside Windows Entertainment Pack 4 and Best of Windows Entertainment Pack. This version is the version most commonly played, though it does not run on 64-bit machines. CCLP1 is the third pack as CCLP2 was a sort of unofficial sequel to the original set, and CCLP3 followed that. Noting that neither of these sets made a good introduction for the game to new players, CCLP1 was conceived and the best levels from all sets were compiled, voted on and made into CCLP1.

  4. Q: You sure know a lot about this...is it actually blind?
  5. A: I have not played any levels that were put up for voting in CCLP1. I have played the original set, CCLP2, CCLP3 and many of the custom sets available on the internet, but CCLP1 is completely blind.
  6.
  7. Q: When is the race going to happen?
  8. A: March 29th, 3 PM EST.
  9.
  10. Q: Can I join?
  11. A: Since we'll be having the race on SRL, yes!
  12.
  13. Q: What's SRL?
  14. A: SpeedRunsLive.com . I suggest familiarizing yourself with how SRL works if you plan to join this race.
  15.
  16. Q: I have a 64-bit computer, looks like I'm out :/
  17. A: Not so! Tile World is a community accepted open source clone of the game that you can use to race. It emulates all behaviors of the original (well, port) Microsoft version (abbreviated to MSCC from here on out) with a few exceptions, all of which have to do with obscure glitchy behaviors. These are all in favor of MSCC, except for the Transparency glitch which crashes the game on MSCC. However, it's easily avoidable by not stepping on a tile with both a monster and a key on it.
  18.
  19. Q: Where can I get Tile World then?
  20. A: http://www.muppetlabs.com/~breadbox/software/tworld/
  21. Alternately, in the all-in-one race download I prepared, linked here.
  22. https://www.mediafire.com/?zv68ykb3ryvdtt7
  23.
  24. Q: That looks funny.
  25. A: Replaces tiles.bmp in your Tile World folder with http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/81-tilesbmp/
  26.
  27. Q: Where can I get CCLP1?
  28. A: Right here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/anm67751q7d3vde/CCLP1.zip This is just the set, so if you don't have any means of playing it you should probably download the one linked above.
  29.
  30. Q: But I'll do badly..
  31. A: So? It's all for fun anyway, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to do badly too...but I'm going to have fun failing :P
  32.
  33. Q: How many people are in for this race?
  34. A: Check the race page here! http://speedrunslive.com/race/?id=4mdgl
