  47. He thought it was over. After fighting his way out of a building filled with gangsters and madmen - a fight that left the bodies of police and gangsters alike piled in the halls - rookie Jakarta cop Rama thought it was done and he could resume a normal life. He couldn't have been more wrong. Formidable though they may have been, Rama's opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And so Rama begins a new odyssey of violence, a journey that will force him to set aside his own life and history and take on a new identity as the violent offender "Yuda." In prison he must gain the confidence of Uco - the son of a prominent gang kingpin - to join the gang himself, laying his own life on the line in a desperate all-or-nothing gambit to bring the whole rotten enterprise to an end.

  50. Indonesian is my mother tongue, that being said, I wish I had lost all understanding of the language for 150 minutes during the show of The Raid 2. To me, the dialogs oddly sounded like (poor) translations of the English subtitle, except those of Roy Marten (Reza), may be because he is such a good actor that he somehow improvised with his lines. All I could think of was that Probably Evans major concern was his English Speaking audience (further showed by that &#39;calm before the storm&#39; Crazy Snow Fight, there is no way that could happen in Jakarta, Indonesia is a tropical country, no snow here, unless Evans was inserting easter eggs for his future Global Warming Disaster Movie), or probably it was his Indonesian co-writer who sucked. All that said, I wasn&#39;t really enjoying the story because of that, still, I could see why storyline-wise The Raid 2 was being compared to The Departed etc, it surely has its potential, it just lacks good script writings is all. On the Actions department however, and this was the main reason we were so pumped to see the movie, sheet.... The Bathroom Stall Fight, the Free For All Mud Brawl, The Car Chase, The Fight Inside the Car of that Car Chase, Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man vs Rama Fight, and the Kitchen Fight! Holly Mother Of God The Kitchen Fight!!! Iko may suck at making faces for drama, but boy can he fight... I love action movies, but not like how cats and dogs love to see moving images on the television, I like action movies with strong story and good acting, say like Django Unchained. I was giving The Raid 2 a Minus 20 rating because its half ass-ed job at script writing but the actions especially the kitchen fight had balanced it off. The actions more than made up for all the lacks this movie might have had, the fights have drama and emotions stronger and more convincing than the dialogs and convoluted plot can deliver. Go see it now.

No. While the first film has two score versions (the original Indonesian by Aria Prayogi and Fajar Yuskemal and the international release by Mike Shinoda and Joseph Trapanese), The Raid 2 will only have one version by Joseph Trapanese, Aria Prayogi, and Fajar Yuskemal. Mad Dog is dead, but the actor Yayan Ruhian will be back as a new character, an honourable assassin named Prakoso. No, he&#39;s not Mad Dog&#39;s twin. He&#39;s a different character entirely. After The Raid got its &quot;R&quot; rating only after the MPAA got its 2 demanded cuts, it&#39;s just a matter of consequence that the sequel had to face a similar fate. Even before it hit US cinemas, Gareth Evans admitted via Twitter that cuts had to be made, although he was very happy with the amount of the alterations that only affected frames. In general, you&#39;d be wise to take such descriptions with a grain of salt when they come from an involved person but Evans&#39; statement turned out to be pretty accurate. a5c7b9f00b
