  1. Hi Patrick
  2.
  3. The length of the practical depends a lot on the learner.
  4.
  5. We have allocated 10 days because there is practical activities that we
  6. complete inside and then there is field activity where we take learners out
  7. to use the equipment for real. Some guys with experience in this area will
  8. fly through it and demonstrate the confidence to be able to do the job no
  9. problem. Those that are new to the industry will be slower and will step by
  10. step get to a position where not only can they use the equipment but we can
  11. confidently say that they are able to do the job.
  12.
  13. The assessments determine whether you can use the equipment safely. Not only
  14. for the operator but for individuals working with the operator. Safely use
  15. the equipment without damaging the cable itself which is vital. The
  16. learners are assessed on whether they can onward, centre and forward blow.
  17. Learners are assessed on their ability to recover situations when things go
  18. wrong without damaging the cable. The learners ability to complete air
  19. pressure, continuity and distance testing.
  20.
  21. I have attached a document which has more information which describes the
  22. grading.
  23.
  24. Kindest Regards
