  1. I left the Game Boy powered on with Pokémon Crystal (or it may have been Silver) for about seven days. When I finally powered it off, back on and saved the save file would stay only for a few days after playing for some time (I said two, but now I can't remember for sure). Oddly, in the time the save file stayed the game's clock would not advance even though it would not get erased.

  3. According to this site (https://sites.google.com/site/masterkirby/gbbattery), Pokémon Silver has a crystal oscillator to control the passing of time that Pokémon Red does not have. This makes me think that the time not passing but the game save surviving over time was something to do with the oscillator not working properly (although I don't know what it is).

  5. I was under the impression that both the save file and the time is stored on the battery (unlike in the Pokémon GBA games that apparently use both flash memory for the progress and a battery only to record the time), which makes me wonder a little how the RTC works. Sometimes for a corrupted save the time is changed.

  7. I think I may have posted my experience on a Prof Glitch forums post, but I can't find the thread anymore. (sorry if some of this is vague/reads poorly, I posted this late)
