  31. Character History
  32.
  33. Born to SoonTM and Warinhari in Praven, Hurz had been brought up as a noble, being taught mostly noble values, but also very important life lessons. As a quiet close-knit family the boy spent most of his younger years with his parents, rather then whisked away by a maiden, with the majority of his teaching and guidance coming from his grandmother, SoonTM Pertingi. From a young age he was told folk-lore as not only a way to teach him about the mythical beasts that hid in the forests, or the evil men who would come and take the boy if he did not go to bed when he was told, but also teaching the boy life lessons from a young age, regardless of whether he understood what she was trying to teach him, it was the pillar of his moral conscience. As he grew to roughly the age of 5, he began to talk about these stories to his parents, though while still being the young, impressionable mind that he was, he was not one to question the answers he received from his parents.
  34.
  35. At the age of 6 Hurz began to find interest in doing activities. To his mother’s reluctance, Liutprand began taking Hurz on rides when he had the time, yet most of it was spent on foot due to the constant paranoia of his mother fearing that the young boy would become injured. He was encouraged to speak to fighters, watch fights, training and practically become a typical young boy.
  36.
  37. From seven onwards the boy thought of himself as becoming ‘independent’. By this, he meant that he was able to walk around the manor with freedom, yet still was not allowed out it without being accompanied. Whilst there still being a war, the 8 year old Hurz had been brought by Warinhari onto a smaller yet still large skirmish off the border of their homeland. Warinhari had done this deliberately as he saw it as the best way to make his son become a warrior. He followed his father and his mother into the camp, yet was refused to go into battle with his father by his mother, as she was still too scared. As the battle raged on in the coming days, a mob of angry farmers from a nearby village whom had been allied to the enemy beforehand charged the camp, filled with women, children, and the odd guard, with most being wounded. Though not armed to the teeth, they were quite dangerous infront of defenseless women and children. One infact with a knife would rush up to Hurz, grabbing him by his collar as his mother was nowhere to be seen, grinning at the child sadistically as he slowly run the knife against his cheek. As he was ready to slit the boys throat, Warinahri and a few men came charging into the camp on foot, having left their horses to stay stealthy. With this, the farmer would reflex to try and hit Warinhari, yet in the process would cut a long thin line on Hurz's cheek, causing him to cry intensely as he held it with his hand, blood slowly trickling through. He would immediately be seen by his mother who would try her hardest to calm the boy down whilst holding a simple rag over it whilst waiting for the fighting to end so that he could be seen by a doctor. After the anger-filled attack that his father set out, he was seen as an outcast by the rest of the clan as was the rest of his family, and after a year, they were given the ultimate verdict to leave to go to Krenn. With this, the mother decided to stay with the court, deeming Warinhari too unhonorable to stay with, and so Warihari and Hurz travelled alone with whatever money they could have salvaged to leave for Krenn, as told by the previous Court. By the age of 10 the boy had barely begun to learn how to read and write as he was constantly travelling, yet was an avid adventurer, always aiming to try and escape with his friends to get into the forests that he met along the road, trying to hunt food for himself… To little avail. Or to make fires and fight each other with wooden sticks, only to be chauffeured back to his by some angry guards told to escort Warinhari by a friend, forced to find the boy quite often. They then soon reached Krenn, being welcomed by Liutprand, but never fully accepted due to their past, the pair being kept on a suspicious eye constantly.
