Episode 5: Spending time with Father

It's been about 4 hours since Marth started hitting the sandbag to increase his POW. Hitting it with a combination of high and low strikes as Jalen stand nearby, watching with a keen interest. as he write notes in his notebook "(Marth's tempo is getting better, but he's still committing too much with some moves..)"

True to form, Marth would often strike the bag with a left rising kick that would hit hard if it ever connected. As Jalen notes this down, he hears a roar of an engine getting closer. He scowls as he turn around and see Alex driving towards his ranch. This time, she have a Shidao in front of her on her lap as she pars the motorcycle and get off with the monster behind her._

"Sup, Nice to see you again..." She casually wave at him as her Shidao stares at Marth before looking up at Jalen who's looking at him with a confused look. "Well, I didn't take you to be a trainer..." Jalen responds as he look at her. "Multitasking 2 careers I see?"
"Something like that.." She shrugs, not willing to tell him all she knows at the moment. "So I was in town earlier with a friend doing some errands and saw you in the AMBA Official building." She flips her hair, hiding the fact that she was in fact stalking her dad and watching from a distance.. "And well.." She chuckles.. "Let just say that you have one hell of a body blow..."

"...." Jalen sighs and tips his hat over his eyes. with a rare moment of embarrassment. "That...look, i just hate being touched is all."  Alex knows her father's reason for not wanting to be touched, so she doesn't press him on it. Instead she decided to talk about her main reason coming here. "So you entered..." She glances at Marth who is eyeing Alm with an unsure look in his eyes. "Marth  in the Hydra Cup." "I have..." Jalen crosses his arms"Those 2 guys I've seen are in it with their monsters.."

"Sylvain Jose Gautier and Felix Hugo Fraldarius.." Alex finishes for him as Jalen raise a curious eyebrow."(Shit, I spoke up....Better come up with something quick before dad get suspicious.)"

"Friends of yours?"

"No..I heard of them." She covers her track and continue speaking. "Sylvain have a Scalie and Felix is training a Blue Hare." Putting her hands in her coat pocket as she goes on. "Both monsters are on the opposite spectrum regarding speed and defense..."

"...The Garu MU with them varies, but on average, the Golem MU isn't that bad, some may even say we win it." Jalen put his hands in his pockets as well, taking part in this conversation  "That blue hare will be a slight issue, due to being faster and more accurate than a normal hare, already an annoying MU for a Garu...but only worse as a Blue Hare."

"Correct.." Alex smirks and nods, impressed with her father's knowledge. Looks like Regina was correct about him... "So what are you planning on doing about that Blue Hare?" Jalen eye her for a moment...

"(I don't know who she is, but she's...ok. There's more to her than meet the eye I feel...but I can't really make any assumptions on her.)"
He shrugs and turn his back towards her, looking at the raging ocean crashing against his cliff that his home is residing on. "If you're so curious on finding out, then come on the day of the tourney and watch."

"Heheh, confident are we?" "(If what mother told me about you is right..)" She eyes Marth who is still staring at Alm as if he should know him..the latter which is calmly staring back at him. "Very well, I shall take you up on that then." She gestures towards her bike upon looking at Alm, the Shidao nods and then waves at Marth before following his trainer and getting back on the bike with Alex sitting behind him, revving the motorcycle up

"Then I expect a victory from you..." Almost slipping up... "Jalen." And she turn her motorcycle and drives off as the sun have set and it's a orange hue in the sky. Jalen watching her drive off before going back to the ocean. "Alex...Strange girl...can't say I dislike her tho." He sees Marth looking at him as he turn his head and shrugs. "Take a half-hour break, then go train your ACC for 2 hours before taking the rest of the day off." He turn and walk back to the house and enter it. Sounds of rocks hitting a machine is heard outside of his home as he take his jacket off and toss it on the coat-rack as he sit on the couch and turn on the TV.

He flashes through the multiple channels of anime, monster battles, infomercials and news before landing on one talking about Prince Chrom and his relationship with one Cordelia Cramoisi. The segment spoke of the former's tremendous success as a trainer with his Antlan, Raphael.

Jalen scoffs before changing the channel back to the anime, Fist of The North Star, and lay down watching it for the night.

"....Some of these attacks are...cool.." He take his notebook and begin taking some notes on the attacks, hoping to teach them to Marth as the day winds down, with him and Marth both retiring to their respective rooms and sleeping...Next time we see our hero, It'll be in the Hydra Cup.
