  1. [07:59] It had been sometime since Yvel had done any training or research on his own to become a medic, After many failed attempts to study under one of the various doctors Yvel figures he'd take things into his own hands and proceed on working on his skills as best he could, After all a majority of cases he would have to deal with on the spot. Yvel brought books from the Library at Petrakis castle.
  2.
  3. He'd place them on the center of the study room within his home and prepared to read through the standard medical procedure of attaching a prosthetic onto a person. This was delicate work and required the most minute of adjustments mana calculations and most of all the proper well tuned equipment.
  4.
  5. Yvel made sure he paid as much attention to the diagrams and the small passages of what each part of the prosthetic was used for, Some parts used to simulate mana currents and nerve endings through orichalcum wiring, While other parts were more technical and hard to understand,More so for the blacksmiths that forged them than the doctors who attached them.
  6.
  7. Yvel went out hunting and returned with a boar he could practice on, Taking off its left leg Yvel began to fashion a fake prosthetic out of wood, Using help from a local blacksmith after which he began his goal of learning to reattach and detach the prosthetic while the boar was still fresh.

  10.
  11. [08:08] Using his holy magic he would numb the surrounding area, Easing any pain the 'patient' would have, His next steps would be to use his Holy Stitching magic to sew up the wounds as quickly as he could, Making sure to stop any bleeding and take out any impurities that could obstruct the process.
  12.
  13. Yvel would then examine the wound making sure the cut was clean and that there was enough space to attached the prosthetic finding the bone that remained so he could anchor it to that point.
  14.
  15. He'd slowly reorganize and adjust the limb moving it closer as he used his holy magic as a buffer to align the two separated pieces. As he held the 'patient' still he'd start slowly cutting away flesh or bone that would make the attachment look unclean. Once limb had been placed on the bone he'd lock it in making sure it was tightly configured to the stump.
  16.
  17. Next he'd slowly use his mana to reduce any scaring, Using the bodies natural healing factor to remove any blemishes and finally he'd begin the delicate process of attaching each of the wires to where he assumed they would go on a magi.
  18.
  19. Yvel then took the wooden limb and tried to adjust it to see its range of motion, To better understand how he could make it fit for a human. He'd wiped his hands off cleaning any blood from his fingers. Then wiping the sweat off his forehead. He really had to concentrate when doing this but it was all worth it. Next he wanted to make sure it could bare weight and so he propt up the animal on its leg, Of course Yvel was merely trying to make sure everything was aligned properly and that he hadn't made any errors.
  20.
  21. He would practice and repeat this same process with the remaining three legs of the boar, Hoping to better understand and get faster at attaching the limbs. After which he learned to remove them, Mostly in the case of someone needing an upgraded limb.

  25.
  26. [08:15] Now that Yvel had practiced with exterior prosthetics he now worked towards his knowledge of interior organs. After all not all wounds were necessarily on the outside, Some magics could ravage or destroy the internal organs and cause them to fail. Blood magic being the most deadly of this magic. Only to be followed up by Bone magic.
  27.
  28. Yvel started by opening up the boar and once again aiming to understand the structures and functions of its internal organs. Looking at the diagram of a magi and what their most crucial and vital organs were he'd aim to try and recreate scenarios were he would have to work quickly and effectively.
  29.
  30. Imagining himself out on the battlefield so he could be prepared to move the patient at any time, With the job Yvel was going for he knew it would be impossible to save every single person, But he would at the very least try to. He would not ever give in until he had at least tried to fix the situation and help them.
  31.
  32. That was the kind of man he was and the man he was becoming as well. Yvel continued doing his work filling the boar with false prosthetics learning the various tendons and muscles that attach and developing a method with his holy magic to reroute the arteries flowing into the organs through the prosthetics.
  33.
  34. After his work was done he'd review the steps he took writing them down in his journal before finishing it off. He'd enjoyed himself for sure this work he knew was bloody and difficult but Yvel had no aversion to blood. Such fears were beaten out of him at a young age after all. As he finished his work he'd aim to return the books back to the castle and donate the edible parts of the boar to the church.
