  1. [F4M] Meeting The Armorsmith's Daughter [Fantasy] [Meet Cute] [Strangers to More] [Brash Speaker] [Flirty] [SFX Heavy]
  2.
  3. While you're managing your father's shop, his favourite customer, a goofy knight in desperate need of armor repairs, comes in. You're not in the mood for any of his nonsense, though, and you give him a stern talking to before sitting down with him and fixing his gear.
  4.
  5. [square brackets] for tone/actions, SFX where noted (optional)
  6. *asterisks* for emphasis
  7. double spaces for longer pauses
  8.
  9. /slashes/ used for explanations of sounds or actions or any contextual events
  10. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  11.
  12. [SFX: door opens, store door bell]
  13.
  14. [SFX: crowd ambience]
  15.
  16. [shouting over the crowd] Ok who was it that just walked in?
  17.
  18.
  19. Ohhh-kay wait. No no no. Who are you? You come in here with the biggest, dumbest smile on your face, yet you're dressed in a ruined set of armor. What are you smiling about? And do you have an appointment?
  20.
  21. [exasperated sigh] Oh by the gods, it's you.
  22.
  23. [mildly annoyed] *Yes*, I know who you are. Of course I know who you are.
  24.
  25. [clap clap] [calling] All right, everyone out of my shop! Come now, let's get a move on!
  26.
  27. I don't want to hear any complaints. This...*gentleman* over here is an important customer. He has an appointment and will be taking up all of my time today. I won't be able to deal with you all.
  28.
  29. [challenging] Do you think you'll be paying more than this Shield Guard here?
  30.
  31. Exactly. So out. I have work to do.
  32.
  33. [fake sweetness] Just come on by tomorrow~ I'll be happy to help you out then~
  34.
  35. [SFX: crowd ambience fades, door closes]
  36.
  37. Ok now *you*.
  38.
  39. [sigh] What is the matter with you? Do you see what your armor looks like? My father would roll over in his grave if he saw you looking like this.
  40.
  41. [chuckle] No, don't freak out, he's not *dead*. I'm only messing with you, big guy.
  42.
  43. He is sick, though. I don't think it's too serious, but he can't be working here. So I'm in charge of the shop while he's out.
  44.
  45. No, he isn't allowed any visitors right now. He's resting.
  46.
  47. [softening up a bit] Thanks. That's really kind of you. I'll tell him you dropped by.
  48.
  49. Don't worry about that. Let me see what I'm working with.
  50.
  51. [irritated] Yes, I'll be doing the fixing. I said I was in charge, didn't I?
  52.
  53. I'm by no means an apprentice. I worked under my father for quite some time, so I'm perfectly capable of managing all these customers on my own. And the very least I should be able to do is fix the armor he's made.
  54.
  55. Does that set your mind at ease some?
  56.
  57. Good. [teasing] Give me a little twirl then, your knightliness. Show me [deep breath] what horrible things you've done to your gear.
  58.
  59.
  60. Ok, this is...[inward hiss]...I mean-
  61.
  62. [groan] The shield, too?! How?
  63.
  64. That is one *weak* looking grin. Wipe it off!
  65.
  66. Look at this! What is *with* you people?
  67.
  68. Yes, "you people"! All of you Shield Guards! [mocking] "Oh I'm going to protect everyone!"
  69.
  70. [SFX: hitting on metal with each word] Not. Like. This. You. Won't!
  71.
  72. [sigh] The amount of times one of you has come in with your equipment in this state is baffling.
  73.
  74. And *you*! You're the worst of them all! I can't believe you're my father's favourite. With everything you do to his gear?
  75.
  76. Yes, he said that. Didn't I tell you to wipe that grin off your face?
  77.
  78. How did you let it get to this point anyway? You should have come in way earlier if you needed repairs like this.
  79.
  80. Don't tell me "it's not that bad"! Are we looking at the same pieces of ruined metal? You borderline *destroy* this armor and expect me to do something about it?
  81.
  82. [scoff] [smug] Oh, I can definitely fix this, who do you take me for? But you better not do it again. I know my dad is always soft on you, but I won't be, you hear me?
  83.
  84. No no no, don't give me that. If you have to frontline, do it properly. You go in all reckless and you'll end up dead. No armor is going to save stupidity.
  85.
  86. I'm not worried about *you*. I'm worried about your gear. Enough chitchat, though. [clap] Take it off.
  87.
  88. I'm going to start working now. Did you think we were going to stand here talking the whole day?
  89.
  90. Well, I'll at least get everything off and see what needs the most attention.
  91.
  92. Mhm. All the serious repair work will come later. Do you need some help?
  93.
  94. Sure thing. Stand still and I'll get everything unfastened.
  95.
  96. [SFX: leather belts unbuckling, repeated through next lines]
  97.
  98. So...mind telling me why you're only coming in for repairs now?
  99.
  100. What?
  101.
  102.
  103. No why would you- [groan]
  104.
  105. You've actually been doing all these minor fix-ups yourself?
  106.
  107. [softening a bit] While I commend the effort, that's just...[sigh] that's just dangerous. Especially if you've been away for so long.
  108.
  109. -oh, can you...lift your arm a bit...thanks. [SFX: soft metal clank]
  110.
  111.
  112. I assume there's a reason you haven't been back here in a while?
  113.
  114.
  115. Wait, this sounds like you're going to launch into a whole thing. Give me a second here.
  116.
  117. [SFX: metal clanking] /as she's taking the armor off/
  118.
  119. [slightly flustered] Wow, you're a lot, uh...way more scars than I would've thought. All over your...back. Are you ok?
  120.
  121. [scoff] "It's just a scratch". Ok, tough guy. Since you're in the city now, you should probably get it looked at. To make sure everything's ok.
  122.
  123. Don't flatter yourself. I just don't want to lose my father's favourite customer.
  124.
  125. [chuckle] [carefree, unphased] Stop trying to tease me and help me get this off. I want to start working already.
  126.
  127. [SFX: metal clanking] /as she's taking the armor off/
  128.
  129.
  130. Ok, that takes care of that.
  131.
  132. And give me this- [grunt] big ol' shield. I'll be taking this too.
  133.
  134. It's ok, I got it. [SFX: dull, heavy thud] /she sets the shield down/
  135.
  136. Whew! How long are you here for, by the way?
  137.
  138. That's good. I wouldn't be able to finish this all in one day. And there's a decent chance that I'll need to work on it outside of business hours.
  139.
  140. If you want, you can leave it all with me and go about your day.
  141.
  142. I mean, it's either that, or you sit with me in the shop while I work.
  143.
  144. You really want to tell me these stories, huh? [teasing] Don't you have some other damsel to impress?
  145.
  146. [giving in] Ok, ok. [dramatic] Regale me with tales of your heroic adventures, sir knight~ [chuckle]
  147.
  148.
  149. [SFX: metal tinkering sounds]
  150.
  151. Is that why you're only coming back here now?
  152.
  153. You know your gear isn't made to last *that* long. I'm surprised you're not in worse shape.
  154.
  155. It has it's limits. So please make sure you come in occasionally.
  156.
  157. Oh, you *wish* it was like that, don't you? [chuckle]
  158.
  159. So what happened next?
  160.
  161. I mean, yeah, I'm interested. At the very least, it makes this part of my work less tedious.
  162.
  163. Mhm. Go on.
  164.
  165.
  166. Wait, you fought a *what*? [SFX: metal tinkering stops]
  167.
  168.
  169. [concerned] Gods, that's actually...wow. No wonder your armor looks like this. How did you make it through all of that?
  170.
  171.
  172. [in awe] Wow.
  173.
  174. [flustered] Hm? No, I was just- I wasn't- [chuckle] You're a really good storyteller, is all.
  175.
  176. Maybe you should give up on all these knightly duties and become a bard, hm?
  177.
  178. [chuckle] A joke, of course. The fact that you and your party made it home safely, even with your equipment in shambles, proves that you're...*decent* at your current role.
  179.
  180. Yes, *decent*. I don't want you to get a big head. It should also tell you something about my father's armor.
  181.
  182. Speaking of, let me get back to it.
  183.
  184. [SFX: metal tinkering sounds]
  185.
  186. You can keep talking, but if you distract me like last time, I might need you to stop.
  187.
  188. Oh, you want *me* to tell you something?
  189.
  190. Ok then. [chuckle] What would you like to know?
  191.
  192.
  193. I did not "soften up"!
  194.
  195. I might have been a tad annoyed when you came in, but did you see yourself? How would you expect me to react?
  196.
  197. Stop telling me it wasn't that bad!
  198.
  199. [challenging] Who's the armorsmith here, me or you?
  200.
  201. [smug] Mm-hmmmm.
  202.
  203. To your point, though, I didn't "soften up". I guess it's easier to not be mad at *you* when I get to...[start flaring up a bit] BE MAD AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO YOUR GEAR! Have you *seen* this piece?!
  204.
  205. No, shields are *not* supposed to warp like this. I know you know that.
  206.
  207. [deep breath, deliberately calming yourself] I need to calm down. [chuckle]
  208.
  209. And *you* need to stop smiling all the damn time. That's not going to fix your armor, I am.
  210.
  211. Which, I'm almost finished with all my preliminary work. Now it's on to the heavy lifting.
  212.
  213. Yes, actually fixing all of these problems you've dropped in my lap.
  214.
  215. Oh, and you can head out now, if you'd like. I won't be able to give you much attention after I start.
  216.
  217. Go grab something to eat, maybe see a healer, like I told you.
  218.
  219. I'll be *fine*. [teasing] You might end up being in my way more than anything, so you leaving now can only be good for me~
  220.
  221. [chuckle] Have fun~
  222.
  223.
  224. Hmm, I should be done by...[pause as she thinks]
  225.
  226. You said you're in the city for a week or so, right?
  227.
  228. Perfect. Drop by before you leave. I'll make sure to have your armor ready by then.
  229.
  230. [playfully threatening] And don't stay away for too long next time. If you come back here looking like you did, there'll be hell to pay.
  231.
  232. I'm worried about your *gear*!
  233.
  234. [laugh] Just get out of my shop, already~
  235.
  236.
  237. [SFX: door opens and closes, store door bell]
  238.
