I know it's basically futile, but I really do hope that they manage to force in a reference to Curry in Season 2 of Mao Mao before the series is cancelled, and maybe even a reference to Mao Mao in Curry, just so that they can say they take place in the same universe. Though if CN has already tossed Mao Mao aside as a tax write off, then there's probably some kind of legal issue with that.

meh, even if that never happens, it won't stop fans from pairing them together and saying they're part of the same universe

kinda like how craig mccracken keeps insisting all his shows take place in separate universes and he doesn't agree of a single unified universe for all CN characters like what happened during the CN city era, the OK KO episode with the bajillion CN references and whatnot

at most would be nice to see like a little Mao Mao related easter egg in the game (ie: some items in the background resembling Mao's gear). Not possible I'm sure but would be nice.

i'm willing to wait until next year to see if we get any resolution since, if we're operating by /co/ standards where the titmouse anon wasn't bullshtting, then this tripfg should be right on the money with next year (assuming this one isn't bullshtting either)

I want to believe but that feels too good to be true, especially with the namefg responding to himself. I'll still hold out hope though

I'd imagine it as just some kind of throwaway line like "Hey did you hear about that one place with the big ruby mountain? Maybe we should check it out sometime idk" or mentioning "that weird golden cat clan" in some passing dialogue. Something you can easily pass off as not legally binding, but a cute reference that lets people feel good about the universe continuing even if Mao Mao's dead.

Or be like Final Fantasy 1 and just have a grave with Mao Mao's name on it.
