There was a colossal bang as Misa Virani appeared beneath a stroke of lightning, the pale blue light drowning out the world and casting her in a light befitting a god. In the air, behind a veil of clouds, something exploded in a plume of flame.

"Fall back, quickly!" Misa shouted. "Get back to the station!"

Emma turned and ran. She wove back and forth, ducking behind cover as necessary. The Reaper fired again, a clap of thunder flashing overhead, ripping into the front of the train station.

"We have civilians down!"

Emma grit her teeth and ran faster. They needed to fall back and regroup, before-

-a flash of bright white light-

-Emma gasped then looked around. She was lying on the ground. The world around her flickered once, twice, before stabilizing. Her HUD blinked, updating itself, radiation warnings beeping loudly.

"Warning, sensory input now rebooting."

The world cut out, before flooding back in.

"-back! Regroup on-"

"-need to find our magical girl-"

"-hty-nine percent casualties-"

A warning, buzzing against her consciousness.
