Tov Matheson is a war veteran with post traumatic stress disorder who perceives that the end of the world is coming. After establishing a relationship with a dubious Messiah, he leaves his normal life to begin the construction of a shelter underground and trains himself, in an extreme way, at the cost of everything in his life. When he also believes the Messiah, something extraordinary happens.
Tov (Hayden Christensen) is a vet with PTSD which causes him to hallucinate about his dead friend Johnny (Justin Kelly) and a small boy. He believes the end of the world is near, and indeed there was a recent war; vaccines have failed; and climate change is creating a deadly storm from the upper atmosphere that will engulf the world. He adheres to prophet Harvey Keitel. The location is a non-US city where people have Italian, Irish, French, and Eastern European accents. (Filmed in Canada and Argentina). Gangs of Nazis with light blue shirts and suspenders roam the streets and causes conflict with the doomsday people. <br/><br/>Tov gets a job in security, and builds a shelter while the world thinks he is crazy. <br/><br/>The film moved slow. I don&#39;t know what is worse about &#39;The Last Man&#39; the fact that is a bad sci-fi film or the fact that both Christensen and Keitel had ridiculous beard for half of the movie?
