  49. I just finished watching the two-hour premier of &quot;Legend of the Seeker&quot;, and I&#39;m sorely disappointed. Too many plot and character details from the novel were changed, rendering formerly meaningful details very disjointed and pointless, or erasing them entirely. The CGI effects are passable in some scenes, but downright pathetic in others. The story rushes along too quickly and you get the mistaken impression that all the locations and vast distances featured in the story are within a couple days hike/ride from everywhere else. The character development and relationships also suffer as a result of the show&#39;s pace, making all the character interaction and dialogue seem rather shallow, ESPECIALLY when one can&#39;t assume there&#39;s a history between character X and Y in a particular scene. Perhaps I&#39;ve simply been spoiled by reading the book, and I&#39;m being too harsh. However, I suspect that the only people who would really enjoy this T.V. series would have to: <br/><br/>1. Not have read the books.<br/><br/>2. Be used to and comfortable with mediocre television shows.<br/><br/>If I had to do a numerical rating, I&#39;d probably give it a 3/10. It&#39;s a poor representation of the source material, yet it may draw a few folks into actually READING the series, which they will almost certainly find much more to their liking. If they have good taste in entertainment.
  50. wow!!! this has got to be the most anticipated series i have ever wished to watch. the books were awesome and if u have ever read them, you would agree in some form. i have waited till episode 4 to comment wanting to give it a chance to develop and introduce the adaption. i was waiting breathlessly to see how they would convey the depth and emotion around the story onto screen and I&#39;m seriously depressed now that no one at all is capable of translating fantasy into a serious but compelling drama. why does it have to be cheese? why does it have to mirror other peoples work? why do they have to deteriorate so much from the the original story line? was it bad?! i say no they cater for people that have no imagination or people that have no interest in depth. this is drama for people that have never read the books and is just a pile of crap and a poor representation of our genre. Whilst it should of been the most compelling story ever told from a fantasy point of view. it can appeal to every generation if told right!!why would we want to see another ridicule of the likes of Hercules and Zena, surly our genre is worth more!!! somebody please help and if the producers are reading these then listen because people are not dumb! we love drama&#39;s that are full of love and war! why change what one of the best fantasy writers of this generation is so capable of conveying..... please sort it out and I&#39;m praying that this series will become what i have so long wanted from a fantasy drama hoping in advance
