"Traps are gay" - phrase that has been uttered for decades by the uninformed and academically unprepared individuals who are not ready to face the cosmic and eternal truth. The truth that makes these groups of people quiver with uncertainty.
And that truth is that traps are indeed, not gay. You may be flabbergasted by this statement and that is totally natural. It is our natural response to reject other world-views as soon as they dont fit in our, mentally constructed jail of acceptable beliefs and traditions. That's how I felt when I first heard about this idea. It was absolutely impossible concept to grasp. It took me months to wrap my head around it. But when I did, it was a life-changing experience. I never looked at the world the same way, since I knew things could always be different.
Back to the topic at hand. Trapezoids. They are creatures that by appearence and mannerism try to mimicate opposite gender. Humans often such, human, specimens call „traps“ due to their decieving characteristic, although, there are examples of animal traphood that is used to lure away/tire competitors for the suitable partner. Humans, however, do such things purely for recreational/sexual purpose, which is why, this, is a questionable topic to discuss for some. „If they are trying to fit in gender norms of the opposite sex, and they are trying to have sex with their own gender, thats pretty gay tbh.“ I hear you say. And you might be right, but its usually that these people are just trying to be something they think suits them more then status quo (in the mannerism, way of thinking and, of course, appearance). They might think, being, in the „skin“, same as the opposite sex is pretty enjoyable or fun or they just have a thing for such wild ventures. They might also try to get with the opposite gender of their own disguised as the gender they are „hunting“, which would be pretty tricky i'd imagine, but it did happen so it is a possibility.
„You know that is pretty self-explanatory, WHY they do it, that is, but what really bothers me is the possiblity of my ego rotting away with my heterosexuality.“ Then fear not, for there is an answer to this question that will only flame your desires. As you can see, these people, the traps, are usually trying their best to replicate the standard behaviour of the opposite sex, such as movements, way of talking, ideas, etc. This is called deception. They are trying to lure you with features that are expected from your „prey“ and by doing that, they are presenting themselves as your prefered gender, thus, making you straight. Sexual features that are attractive to you on a trap (you dont know is a trap) are all psychological and will probably stay like that if you arent willing to accept an idea of a trap partner. And while you might point out that genitalia arent what you were looking for in a partner, that might also enrage you aswell, remember, sometimes having a partner/pal (of any kind) is worth more than sex.

If you ever get lured by a trap, and you arent too thrilled about it, atleast give them kudos for making you fall for their ruse.
The trans dilemma.
While they are exhibiting characteristics of the opposite sex, and, through surgery, have created genitals that are, even though not 100% accurate, functional and according to their desired persona, they are still the gender they started with while looking at the chromosomes. However, that can also depend on their original chromosome status and natural hormone production, since that can cause much difference in appearance and composure of the individual. Simply put, if they have managed to lure you in with their characteristics, you arent gay and they are just mentally locked in a cage of their own design that is keeping them inside their chosen persona. This doesnt determine if they are gay or not, this only gives them a "solid" groundwork from which they can build upwards.
The formula
To be attracted to a trap is much less gay then being attracted to a fully male, testosterone-fueled beast. Since the penis is only one of the few variables in a sexuality equation.
