##Base Building Rules

We will soon be implementing the [NoFenceCollisions](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1712678325) Mod on DayzUnderground. Due to the way this mod works for basebuilding, we created rules that all people playing on DayzUnderground must follow. Those rules are the following:

While base building fences, fences, and storage on DayzUnderground, there will be:

* no placement that results in indestructible, inaccessible, unpackable or unmoveable items.

* no glitching/clipping of fences into storage items, or storage items into other objects.

* no fences created that float/defy the laws of physics.

* no placement of fences or gates which causes an indestructible/impassable barrier obstructing free movement via clipping.

 

We have provided some examples of this below.

The fence clips through an entire hallway to outside, and into the single room on the other side of the hallway too (blocking some of the entrance of the room). It clips into three separate areas AND obstructs free movement as a result. This is RULE-BREAKING!

The fence clips through the bookcase, but the clipped part of the wall does impede movement of players. The fence is still destructible as well, so this is OK!

The tent was placed and then a wall built from the inside. The tent is no longer able to be entered or able to be packed as a result of the wall clipping into the tent itself. This is RULE-BREAKING!

Although it looks janky and unappealing, we as admins can tell that the group attempted to stack the fences in a way that at "sort of" realistic, given the limitations of current basebuilding. It is clipping into the rock, but the clipped part of the fence inside the rock does not impede movement of players. This is OK!

The person that made this fence tore down the fence below it, creating a floating fence that breaks the laws of physics. This is RULE-BREAKING!

##Punishments for Base Building Rule Breaking

 

These are currently tentative but will probably not change much, and DUG staff reserve the right to penalize rule breakers in the way they see fit. We will be relying on the community to self-police, report rule-breaking, and will occasionally do our own audit of all bases if rule breaking gets out of hand (which may also result in removing this mod entirely)

**First Offense**: Structure will be deleted and we will try to confirm who made the offending structure. If found, they will receive a warning.

**Second Offense**: We will delete the structure, and will thoroughly go through the logs to find out which person and/or group created the structure and will punish accordingly (could be as much as a temporary ban from the server).

**Third Offense**: We will delete the structure, and will find the person responsible for creating the structure. This person will be given a (at the very least) lengthy temporary ban or permanent ban from our server. If the structure was made by a repeat-offending group, the leadership of that group will be punished accordingly, and the entire base may be removed from the server.
