  1. Create a SUPPORT TICKET by visiting https://help.soe.com, logging in, and clicking the "OPEN A SUPPORT TICKET" tab
  2. In the subject line of the support ticket, enter "Planetside 2 Server Latency Issue" Follow the instructions below to fill out the support ticket...
  3.
  4. *NOTE* PLEASE repeat the "diagnostic file" steps WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE IN-GAME LAG. The idea is to capture the information at the time of the issue. Since these issues are intermittent, it requires you to be ready to catch the issues in the logs. It took me about 20 minutes of watching and waiting before I caught the issue. If you need help doing this, and making sure you're not overwriting stuff, or getting multiple copies of the test in the diagnostic file, let me know.

  31. I'll need you to follow these instructions to create a diagnostic file that will help determine the quality of your connection to our servers:
  32.
  33. 1. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories, right-click the Command Prompt and select "Run as administrator"
  34. Windows 8 - Press the WINDOWS and X keys together and then click on Command Prompt (Admin). Click Yes to the User Account Control message that appears.
  35.
  36. 2. Copy and paste the below commands into your command prompt. You can paste into your command prompt by right clicking and selecting paste.
  37.
  38. ipconfig /all > c:\netinfo.txt
  39. tracert lp.soe.com >> c:\netinfo.txt
  40. pathping lp.soe.com >> c:\netinfo.txt
  41.
  42. These commands will not output to the command prompt, they will create a file named c:\netinfo.txt
  43.
  44. Make sure to run each command one at a time. Because you are outputting to a file, it will appear as though nothing is happening for a while, especially on the second and third commands. Make sure you wait for the cursor to pop up again and allow you to type before proceeding to the next step. Once complete, please attach the file c:\netinfo.txt to this ticket.
