  1. TO SKIP TO THE TOUR:
  2. (Shadowlight): You say, "We will begin, then!"
  3.
  4. TO SKIP TO THE BALLAD:
  5. Faintly buzzing, you ask, "Is everybody comfortable and fed and dranked?"
  6.
  7. BEHOLD, THE BUG:
  8. Looking somewhat diminished, they are a compound-eyed kephera kindly demigod changeling. Standing shy of two meters tall, their entire body is plated with a charcoal-black chitinous exoskeleton, housing a broad sunset-hued thorax. At the very center of their chest is what looks to be a scar, or a stain of blue-violet, permanently marring their carapace. Two bulbous red eyes sit on either side of a wedge-shaped head, and a long, thin pair of antennae protrude from atop their skull, the left permanently sagging. Where their mouth would be sits a pair of marred, jagged mandibles. Dual sets of spiny black-and-orange arms are affixed to their torso, the top set of which are long and thewy while the second are spindly and pulled close to their chest. A long abdomen hangs down to their knees, is angled away from their back and ribbed in full muted bands of orange and black. Their legs are long and covered in thick orange plates with tiny black spines tracing down the back of their calves, ending in small segmented dual-toed feet. Set on either side of their lower back are two delicate orbs that rasp and click as they take deep, slow breaths. Two pairs of veiny, translucent wings looking far too small for their body size hang stiffly from their back. Two tendril-like scars wind their way up the kephera's primary arms, marring their knuckles, the backs of their hands, and ending just before the elbow, the chitin forever seared. Tattooed on their hands is an illustration of a bumblebee constellation.
  9. They are wearing:
  10. a starry wreath of celestial light set atop their head like a halo
  11. a bright orange scarf with an embossed tiger lily looped comfortably around their shoulders
  12. a starry pin encrusted with pearls which has been affixed to their Mantle of Starlight
  13. a circlet of crystal thorns resting loosely atop their head
  14. a vivid red-orange poppy tucked lovingly behind their left antennae
  15. the Mantle of Starlight which flows dreamily about their shoulders and back
  16. mercurial Mysraian prayer beads pulled taut against their right wrist
  17. minty citrus incense beads pulled taut against their right wrist
  18. aromatic cedar and cinnamon incense beads pulled taut against their right wrist
  19. a shifting, living poppy of violet petals worn delicately upon their left wrist
  20. a charming wedding ring bearing a miniature white ghodak stone fitted securely to their left ring finger
  21.
  22. (Shadowlight): You say, "Good morning dearest Alliance! In about a half day's, I time will be hosting a brief tour of our city's fine Dragon's Grave district, which will conclude in our city's playground with a small picnic and a song for our dear Saint Hamos! Will holler before is time to begin - am hoping to see you there!"
  23.
  24. Calioliahali follows you northeast.
  25. Lower Strombus Gigas between quarters. (road).
  26. A continuous flow of protective energies radiates from a shield shrine of Weiwae nearby. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. One or two light fluffy clouds drift lazily through the sky. Edging towards the outskirts of the city, the Merian sector and the Dragon's Grave are more noted in their differences. The Merian buildings become large mansions, while the homes of the Dragon's Grave are tidy tenements that offers shelter to the many that have flooded into the city seeking the protection and guidance of the Light. A sewer grate looms darkly beneath your feet. A statue of a merian priestess stands here, memorializing her noble spirit. Leading deeper into the Dragon's Grave, a cobblestone alley winds its way from Strombus Gigas. Like holy fire called down from the heavens, streamers of red and white cut paper arcs overhead in prayerful evocation of St. Loathys Inalai.
  27. You see exits leading northeast and southwest.
  28.
  29. You fidget impatiently.
  30.
  31. Faintly buzzing, you say to Calioliahali, "Ouwah - ouwah. Sorry, wifey. Am filling with bees."
  32.
  33. Shaking her head gently as she reaches up to pet the side of their beak, Calioliahali Skydrifter says to you, "It is okay, my apotheosis, ah... Your bees are right to rouse so, I think. It is an exciting time. But I know that you will be great."
  34.
  35. You have emoted: Gurashi practically vibrates where they stand, their eyes wide. "I wish they would wait until -after-," They chitter anxiously, head bobbing side to side. "Ah - but it is nearly time, nearly time... yes, a quarter of a day before I will speak again..." Then, they bring up their primary hands, covering their face. "Ho-kay. Every else gave really goodly talkies. So I should be fine doing the things I already know how to does."
  36.
  37. Still covering their eyes, you say to Calioliahali, "Thank you for always being so supportive and wonderful, wifey - am sorry am beesified presently."
  38.
  39. Nodding her head several times, Calioliahali Skydrifter says to you, "Do not be sorry, ah... You are right. This is your specialty."
  40.
  41. Calioliahali gives you a friendly squeeze.
  42.
  43. Kalliope tells you, "Oh your lower Strombus is showing its gigas between quarters."
  44.
  45. You stare blankly into space.
  46.
  47. You open your mouth to say something, but speech fails you.
  48.
  49. Peeking up at them curiously, Calioliahali Skydrifter says to you, "Ah?"
  50.
  51. Your melodic voice sings into Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart's mind, "...it... it ..."
  52.
  53. Your melodic voice sings into Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart's mind, "I-it most certainly is!"
  54.
  55. You breathe in deeply through a sun-kissed nose, taking in the scent of your surroundings.
  56. You make out the scent of Kethaera coming from behind the curtains of a wide stage.
  57. You make out the scent of Yinuish coming from behind the curtains of a wide stage.
  58. You make out the scent of Calioliahali coming from lower Strombus Gigas between quarters.
  59. You make out the scent of Kalliope coming from the Pool of Stars.
  60.
  61. You touch the Mantle of Starlight and are surrounded by a brilliant white light. The distant song of an angelic choir can be heard, as you feel angelic hands lift you up and carry you away.
  62.
  63. You have reached your destination.
  64. The Pool of Stars.
  65. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Meeting in the radiant heart of New Celest, the broad city streets come together in a large, open plaza of marbled stone. Rising in the centre of the plaza is a structure of noble and luminescent pillars which suspend a round, ring-shaped platform twenty feet above the light-studded surface of the pool below. The atmosphere within the structure and around the pool bristles with a warm, electrical energy, giving a slightly disorienting sense of dizziness and euphoria. A gradually ascending stairway winds its way about the inside of the pillars, leading towards the upper level of the structure and offering a bird's eye view of the pool. An enormously wide circular pool, as dark as the night sky, glitters softly between the columns. His form suffused with soft light, the Keeper of the Pool of Stars stands here attentively. A statue of Zenobia the Queen of Queens stands here, memorializing her noble spirit. An imposing sword of radiant white metal has been driven deep into the ground in a silent statement of intent. A mosaic tiled chest stands here, ready to share donations given. There are 12 archons of Eternal Light here. There are 14 cavaliers of the Light here. There are 12 Kusalas of the Tahtetso here. There are 3 emissaries of Elohora here. Glimmering gently, the unfurled glory of this samite banner heralds the celebration of Saintstivus from a nearby vantage point. Strung from here to there, a braided strand of polished coral and silvery chimes offers a merry melody to all passersby as its stirred by a breeze. Diamond dusted and sparkling, a bouquet of coral ribbons hang mounted here and shine with dozens of prismatic glass bubbles. Like holy fire called down from the heavens, streamers of red and white cut paper arcs overhead in prayerful evocation of St. Loathys Inalai. Hung by a curved hook, a darkened lantern offers no light nor entertainment to all who wander here. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff stands here obediently, his thick tail wagging behind him. Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart is here, shrouded. She wields a sparkling star sapphire violin inlaid with fractal imagery in her left hand and a pink heart-shaped shield in her right hand. Calioliahali Skydrifter looms here, lingering with an unsettling aura of strict severity.
  66. You see exits leading north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest, and up (open door).
  67.
  68. Calioliahali's left wing unfurls briefly to strike its utmost tip to her forehead in a sharp salute to Kalliope.
  69.
  70. Kalliope steps forward with regal poise, one hand graciously extended to her audience as she sketches an elegant bow.
  71.
  72. You have emoted: Gurashi smiles nervously, their antennae bobbing and mandibles clicking against their face. "Th-they are supposed to look like that!" THey exclaim, pointing down the road.
  73.
  74. A look of understanding crossing her features, Calioliahali nods her head slowly.
  75.
  76. Faintly buzzing, you ask Kalliope, "Good morning! Good very early morning - is still, ah ... a little time be-fore things start ...but would you like a drink?"
  77.
  78. Without waiting for an answer, you give a painted, clay drinking vessel to Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart.
  79.
  80. Kalliope bobs her womandibles as she excitedly bounces on her heels. "Hello Gurashi and Calioliahali!!" She says, her voice as bright as a blinding flare.
  81.
  82. Meleris, Keeper of the Pool of Stars tilts his head back and looks up at the sky.
  83.
  84. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "Yes, let us become lighted."
  85.
  86. Laughing like a child, Kalliope raises a painted, clay drinking vessel upward as if offering St. Gathlyn a sip before downing more of the golden-pink drink.
  87.
  88. Warmly, Calioliahali Skydrifter says to Kalliope, "Greetings, comrade."
  89.
  90. Kalliope's body suddenly begins to shift through a variety of colours, first a cheerful ruby then a gentle cerulean, before becoming a warm topaz before repeating.
  91.
  92. With a little laugh, you say, "Lighted, soonly! I-I also have foodstuffs but ah... I figured would wait until the tour is over and peoples are watching the -show-."
  93.
  94. A lone hummingbird darts past before stopping suddenly before a coral ribbon bouquet woven with glass bubbles, attracted and transfixed by its sparkling rosy sight, only to wing away upon realising that no nectar can be procured from it.
  95.
  96. You have emoted: Gurashi ominously wriggles the fingers of their smaller secondary hands, chittering excitedly.
  97.
  98. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "I don't know what's happening today, Ham is singing a song?"
  99.
  100. (Celest): You say, "Will there be any issue with my inviting peoples to attend via the market aethers? Am assuming unenemied Serenwilders and Gaudiguchians are still welcome to attend."
  101. (Celest): Kethaera says, "I think that should be fine."
  102. (Celest): You say, "Many thank yous! I will make a call in about ten minutes!"
  103.
  104. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  105.
  106. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Ah! Ouwah - uh."
  107.
  108. Kalliope uses her long fingernails to scratch behind Ham's ears.
  109.
  110. Eyebrows knitting together, Calioliahali Skydrifter says, "Perhaps he will join in, at some juncture, but, ah... No."
  111.
  112. You have emoted: Gurashi opens and closes their beak, reaching up to gently pat Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff's haunches. "He will be a background performer, yes! Part of the choir," They explain with an attempted snap of their fingers. "Which is just as importantly as the leads."
  113.
  114. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  115.
  116. You wink conspiratorially at Calioliahali.
  117.
  118. Scattered shards of pink sparkle across the ground from the braided strand overhead, its coral beads shimmering and rosy in the bright daylight.
  119.
  120. Gesturing to the kephera at her side, Calioliahali Skydrifter says, "We will be learning about Saint Hamos, and some of the lesser known areas of New Celest."
  121.
  122. Kalliope sparkles and glows happily, giving her pink curls a primp as she nods along in vague agreement.
  123.
  124. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "Oh, Ham-o."
  125.
  126. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff stares down at Kalliope, his great tail wagging behind him at all the attention he is being given. When the name 'Hamos' ismentioned, he looks up then towards Calioliahali, continuing to pant, existing benignly.
  127.
  128. A quiet kitten's mew sounds out nearby.
  129.
  130. Shyly, you exclaim, "Y-yes! The spaces squished during the dragon attacks! And also the firstly and only male kepheran Saint!"
  131.
  132. Kalliope's absolutely fake rabbit ears perk up at the kitten sounds.
  133.
  134. Calioliahali's eyebrows lift as Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff turns toward her, and she reaches out to pat the side of his head affectionately.
  135.
  136. You have emoted: Gurashi clasps together both pairs of hands, gazing up towards the sky. "Can only hopes to do hims proud and that peoples will learn something and then too remember him fondly."
  137.
  138. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff licks you.
  139.
  140. You have emoted: Gurashi immediately begins sputtering as Ham's enormous tongue slorps the side of their face, all four arms flailing and both petting and pushing away the mastiff's face. "Ack! Hammy!"
  141.
  142. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  143.
  144. <-- Kethaera and Yinuish arrive, the latter immediately starts influencing the guardstack LOL
  145.
  146. Kethaera stares implacably at Yinuish.
  147.
  148. You have emoted: Gurashi blinks very slowly.
  149.
  150. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "Imagine having guards!"
  151.
  152. A look of understanding crossing her features, Calioliahali nods her head slowly.
  153.
  154. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "Chekhov!"
  155.
  156. Quietly, you say, "I suppose we will begin to tour elsewheres, then. Thought this would be a goodly place to starts..."
  157.
  158. You twitch your mandibles as you voice a soft, curious chirr.
  159.
  160. Kalliope conducts Chekhov with an imaginary baton, while the penguin stares at her blankly.
  161.
  162. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Is a shame not more of our citizens came..."
  163.
  164. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Or, are waking!"
  165.
  166. (Shadowlight): Calioliahali says, "Ah, for those upon distant planes, New Celest is about to host another portion of its Hallowed Feast of Saints, featuring Gurashi, a tour, and a song about the Saint Hamos."
  167.
  168. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Ah - I will ah, begin inviting peoples, I suppose," To Yinuish they politely ask, "if you would not mind wrapping up your talkies, as they arrive? Please and many thank yous."
  169.
  170. Two merian maidens stroll by from the direction of the market on Tridacna, their arms linked as they giggle over their newly purchased pennants.
  171.
  172. Yinuish compliments a cavalier of the Light on his outstanding intellect and physique.
  173. A cavalier of the Light ponders Yinuish's words, but then snorts arrogantly.
  174. He pauses briefly as though considering what Yinuish said.
  175.
  176. Kethaera points a spiraled wand of turquoise and opal at Yinuish, and sparks fly out of it.
  177. A gust of wind slams into Yinuish.
  178. You sense the passage of Yinuish to the east with a fluffy pair of ursine ears.
  179.
  180. You look at Kethaera, letting out a chittering laugh.
  181.
  182. You see the following people here:
  183. Kalliope, Kethaera, Calioliahali, Gurashi.
  184.
  185. Kethaera nods her head sagely.
  186.
  187. Calioliahali begins to wield a pennant of Dawn's Promise in her left hand.
  188.
  189. Calioliahali waves about a pennant of Dawn's Promise energetically.
  190.
  191. (Market): You say, "For those interested, New Celest will be hosting a tour and talk about Saint Hamos! Teleport if would like to attend!"
  192.
  193. An archon of Eternal Light says, "Welcome to New Celest, Tonatiuh."
  194.
  195. You hands fly to your mouth as you give a short gasp of elation.
  196.
  197. Calioliahali's left wing unfurls briefly to strike its utmost tip to her forehead in a sharp salute to Tonatiuh.
  198.
  199. You chitter at Tonatiuh with energetic clicks of your mandibles.
  200.
  201. "Hey!" Tonatiuh greets warmly.
  202.
  203. Faintly buzzing, you exclaim, "Beloved! Welcome!"
  204.
  205. Kethaera greets Tonatiuh with a sincere smile.
  206.
  207. A lone hummingbird darts past before stopping suddenly before a coral ribbon bouquet woven with glass bubbles, attracted and transfixed by its sparkling rosy sight, only to wing away upon realising that no nectar can be procured from it.
  208.
  209. Something causes coruscating streamers of fiery prayers to quiver, the resulting movement sending vibrations throughout the decoration as if the skies had parted and holy fire itself had come down at Loathys' behest.
  210.
  211. Ulkhar enters from the southwest, emanating an aura of immense power.
  212.
  213. Looking up, you say, "Ahhh, the decorations are most lovely! I cannot stop looking at them."
  214.
  215. You chirp happily.
  216.
  217. Calioliahali nods her head affirmatively.
  218.
  219. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Welcome, welcome! Thank you, for coming! We will wait a few minutes more to allow anyone else who might join us."
  220. You beam broadly.
  221.
  222. Kalliope suddenly holds up her forefingers and thumbs, peering through the gap.
  223.
  224. A subtle change in hue flows across Tonatiuh's pearlescent skin, the black-bordered rings flashing blue in a slow outwards ripple.
  225.
  226. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "Parfait."
  227.
  228. (Shadowlight): You say, "We will wait a few minutes more, then begin! You may teleport to me at any time if want!"

  236.
  237. Warmly, Calioliahali Skydrifter says to you, "Thank you."
  238.
  239. Tonatiuh murmurs softly to himself.
  240.
  241. Happily, you say, "Please enjoy! Is not alcoholic, no."
  242.
  243. Calioliahali's eyes widen as she takes her first sip, twinkling pink for a moment before she dives back into the cup.
  244.
  245. Happily, you say, "Available drinkies for all ages, yes."
  246.
  247. Slakened Ulkhar, Novitiate of Purity says to you, "Thank you."
  248.

  252.
  253. Aural Tildarmin yells, "Don't forget to breed turtles in the Inner Sea! Their population is imperative to Celest!"
  254.
  255. You have emoted: Gurashi hums to themselves as they look at those gathered happily, antennae bobbing. "Know it is quite early - how has this month fared? How are you all doing?"
  256.
  257. A cool breeze curls in from the seas and sets the chimes above into motion, the silvery stars dancing and twining around coral charms in a soft melody.
  258.
  259. Sipping from the clay vessel, Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo says, "Never better, never better."
  260.
  261. You give Tonatiuh a friendly squeeze.
  262.

  301.
  302. Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo says to you, "What is Ham's favourite snack?"
  303.
  304. As a resplendent skylantern of the Dragonslayer drifts away, it grows smaller and smaller on the horizon until you see naught but a speck of light floating in the distance.
  305.
  306. With demurely Delportian glamour, Popular Idol Kalliope Starheart says, "Lanternward skyflight."
  307.
  308. Faintly buzzing, you say, "But before I sings a song solely to hims, it is important we see the very district of New Celest that got squished during the dragon attacks and how very muchly it has bounced back! Though lesser known, is an importantly parts of our city."
  309.
  310. You chitter at Kalliope with energetic clicks of your mandibles.
  311.
  312. Faintly buzzing, you say to Kalliope, "Ham likes ... Ham ... likes ... not-sweets, yes. He is not as voraciously an eater as Bizi, no."
  313.
  314. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  315.
  316. Your shoulders bunch as you let out a short giggle.
  317.
  318. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Onward! To the Dragon's Grave district, my friends!"
  319.
  320. Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo thinks to himself: Hope it wasn't the mole people home...
  321.
  322. <-- walkies walkies
  323.
  324. Lower Strombus Gigas between quarters. (road).
  325. A continuous flow of protective energies radiates from a shield shrine of Weiwae nearby. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. There is a moderate breeze here. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  326. You see exits leading northeast and southwest.

  330. Faintly buzzing, you say, "On month one of the ceremony I showed peoples this easy to miss alleyway, yes - is another one on the other side of the city that leads off to the Dragon's Grave - easy to miss! But importantly, none the less!"
  331.
  332. Your eye catches a different path, a cobblestone alley of stone and scale, far different from the pastel and shellworked Strombus Gigas. The squared buildings are attractive, decorated in vibrant hues, and recently restored. Instead of continuing onward, you cut across to the alley and meander its winding path. Soon enough, you find yourself within the non-Merian quarter of New Celest: the Dragon's Grave.
  333.
  334. Off the Strombus Gigas within the quarter.
  335. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. It is uncomfortably hot. Crossing into Dragon's Grave, the pastel-hued gravel crunches underfoot while embellished warehouses and decorated homes flank either side of the street. Opened windows and porches allow a chance glance into these buildings as their owners sweep away dust has scattered across their ornate porches or stairwells, and they offer the occasional wave amongst the more frequent stop and stare. Celest's non-merian citizenry travel along these streets in huddled groups or solitarily, going about their business with the peal of laughter, the sounds of heated conversation, or even the lone bard playing music, and thus fulling the myriad paths throughout with sound and liveliness. A statue of Gyorn stands here, memorialising his noble spirit. Strung from here to there, a braided strand of polished coral and silvery chimes offers a merry melody to all passersby as its stirred by a breeze. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  336. You see exits leading southeast, west, and northwest.

  339.
  340. "Tada!" you say with a proud expression on your face.
  341.
  342. Calioliahali nods her head affirmatively.
  343.
  344. Chittering excitedly, you say, "Be-hold! The biggest little secret in New Celest!"
  345.
  346. At the heart of Dragon's Grave.
  347. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. There is a moderate breeze here. While Anatolyi Street generally runs undeterred as it progresses from east to west, it forks to accommodate the heart of the district: a makeshift island ringed by a small moat of crystalline waters. Wide enough as to have rowboats lazily drift along its current, aquamantic engineering causes the waters to slowly pull along in constant motion. Bridges of dragonbone and coral stretch to the tiled plaza, which glitters with thousands upon thousands of tiny, hand-painted tiles that glitter in the light. During the day, folks mingle, congregate, and otherwise stumble upon each other as they go on about their day, but when the evening hours take, enchanted lampposts come to life and stream pearlescent light across the plaza with a delicate luminescence. Strolling along the fern-dressed banks are street performers, musicians, and clowns, all providing entertainment for a coin or two. Spanning the entirety of the mortalmade island, a brilliant mosaic of polished tiles celebrates the people of the non-Merian District. A statue of Lorina stands here, memorialising her noble spirit. Strung from here to there, a braided strand of polished coral and silvery chimes offers a merry melody to all passersby as its stirred by a breeze. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  348. You see exits leading north, east, southeast, southwest, and west.
  349.
  350. Tonatiuh ponders a statue of Lorina thoughtfully, looking it up and down.
  351.
  352. Hands on their hips, you say, "When dragons attacked in the year 560 C.E., this whooole section of the city got squashed! The peoples united to shoot down a dragon using a big ol' ballista they built in the heat of battles, and it landed here - on all these homes! And left chaos and destructions all -over-!

  355.
  356. The Drunken Dragon.
  357. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. This warmly-lit tavern is sturdily built from pine, with windowed walls adorned in sprawling, dragonscale mosaics and amber sconces of flickering flame. Many rounded tables have been set up and around the spacious area, complete with snapdragon centrepieces and comfortable seating for the bar's patrons. The Drunken Dragon's most fabled feature, the draconic pewter tankards that are a nod to its namesake, graces every table, filled with their patron's drink of choice. Bottles of fine wine and spirits as well as large barrels of ale all line the back wall behind the bar, placed in plain sight to tempt any who enter the tavern. A door tucked in the back suggests where the barkeep makes a home when the tavern closes down, almost entirely hidden behind black drapery. The sound of revelry and merriment is often heard in this place, which serves as a place of community and gathering. A statue of Gathelta Highwater stands here, memorialising her noble spirit. Eraol Flenn, the orclach barkeep stands behind the counter, tending his establishment. Glimmering gently, the unfurled glory of this samite banner heralds the celebration of Saintstivus from a nearby vantage point. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  358. You see a single exit leading south.
  359.
  360. You chirp happily.
  361.
  362. Pale gold in hue, the wreath about your brow shimmers in a steady pattern, like unto a heartbeat in its gentle pulsation, crowning you in a flickering halo before settling still once more.
  363.
  364. Turning in place, their arms raised, you say, "Welcoooome to the Drunken Dragon!"
  365.
  366. Tonatiuh greets Eraol Flenn with a sincere smile.
  367. "Welcome to the Drunken Dragon!" Eraol Flenn calls, as he wipes a spill up from the bar top.
  368.
  369. Gesturing at the surrounds, you say, "This is gathering place for those who cannot make it all the way to the Hotel! Many a patrons has passed through these doors and been helped by our most wonderful barkeeper, Mister Eraol Flenn! He is the one who provided dear Sonahi with the Saint Gathlyn's Party Punch that you are holding, as well as the Starlit Fizzes! Tasty drinks! Wonderful company!"
  370.
  371. You eyes light up as you smile.
  372.
  373. Ulkhar's eyes widen as he takes his first sip, twinkling pink for a moment before he dives back into the cup.
  374.
  375. Faintly buzzing, you say, "We appreciates him very muchly, we do! He and Miss Gathelta's businesses help one another, I thinks - in friendly competitions."
  376.
  377. You click your mandibles together energetically, chittering to yourself.
  378.

  382.
  383. Blooming terraces.
  384. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. There is a moderate breeze here. These tiered gardens have been built into the natural sloping landscape, each bright and blooming flower a testament to the excellent care of their groundskeeper. Blossoms from across the Basin of Life all thrive here - fresh sunflowers, sword lilies, colourful carnations, dewy roses - but no flower is more prevalent than the snapdragon, which adds its autumnal colours to each garden's vibrant palette. Dancing fountains have been cleverly engineered into the terrace, arcing from one tiered garden to the next; when inspected closely, each fountain's spout is the mouth of a miniature stone dragon, breathing water and sparkling mist. Several benches of blanched dragonbone have been erected in this central place, allowing for a brief respite from city life in full view of the gardens. Smooth cobblestones meander downwards to the heart of the terrace, each brick inscribed with the names of various patrons who founded Dragon's Grave. Like holy fire called down from the heavens, streamers of red and white cut paper arcs overhead in prayerful evocation of St. Loathys Inalai. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  385. You see exits leading northeast and east.
  386.
  387. You raise your hands over your head and loudly proclaim, "Behold!"
  388.
  389. Chittering happily, you say, "Back in the immediate wakes of the dragon attacks, a looooot of money was going to be needed to rebuild the former non-merian districts piece-by-piece and brick-by-brick."
  390.
  391. With your mighty index finger extended, you poke meandering cobblestones.
  392.
  393. Calioliahali quietly surveys the surrounds as she follows along within the group, smiling faintly before returning her attention to your words.
  394.
  395. Faintly buzzing, you exclaim, "Here you can see the names of the many individuals who gave their gold and materials to help makes the Dragon's Grave district as whole as it is now!"
  396.
  397. You click your mandibles together energetically, chittering to yourself.
  398.
  399. Tonatiuh's tentacles stretch out in several directions, suckers sticking to the cobblestones.

  402.
  403. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Tonatiuh.
  404.
  405. You think to yourself: *they cannot help but lament on the fact they might have had a stone had they been a citizen when they donated - but at least they donated*.
  406.
  407. Chittering happily, you say, "And not far from here..."

  411. In the shade of palm trees.
  412. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Thick dreamy cotton clouds are spread across the firmament. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Dragon's Grave, this shaded park rests beneath a canopy of large palm trees and is a popular destination for picnics during the daytime and romantic stargazing at night. Seashell fencing separates this grassy knoll from the rest of the city with delicate gates that swing open and shut, allowing entrance to the terraces of the west and the nearby streets to the north and the east. Within this closed-off retreat, local children can play hide-and-seek behind the giant trees with no fear of straying too far from their parents' watchful gaze, while young couples can enjoy a modicum of privacy in the more secluded sections of the park. Sea breezes drift through the area, quiet and cool, carrying the taste of salt with them. Strung from here to there, a braided strand of polished coral and silvery chimes offers a merry melody to all passersby as its stirred by a breeze. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  413. You see exits leading north, east, west, and northwest.
  414.
  415. Happily, you exclaim, "One of our more peaceful bastions within the city! A wonderful park, yes!"
  416.
  417. Reaching out to take their wife's hand as they continue speaking, you say, "Though New Celest has many fantastical parks, this one offers some of the most relaxing views and is quiet compared to the ones in the inner city! It is most definitely one of my most favoritely spots to visit, yes! Be sure to come here on a picnic with friends sometime!"
  418.
  419. With a flash of white feathers, a lost dove descends and sits upon the braid strand here, their talons tickling both bead and chime together in a riot of sound.
  420.
  421. Chittering happily, you exclaim, "Smell the air! See that tree! Look - the sky!"
  422.
  423. Tonatiuh tilts back his head to gaze at the stars overhead.
  424.
  425. Calioliahali gazes fondly upon the area, offering a little nod of agreement.
  426.
  427. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Is an ocean out there - somewhere!"
  428.
  429. You hum softly to yourself.

  433. Kalliope regards the tree with hands on hips, posing treelike in consideration.
  434.
  435. You have emoted: Gurashi shimmies where they stand, gazing upon the small gathering, their mandibles clicking as they begin walking again. "Come come! We must learn about learning - just a few places left, you will see!"

  439. A charming school house.
  440. This quaint brick building has been built with utmost care to serve as a charming, one-room school house. Tidy rows of shellwrought desks have been arranged neatly, each stacked with parchment, quills and inkwells for eager young minds to learn. A podium of fragrant pine stands before a chalkboard covered in recent lessons and homework plans, lovingly written by a patient and careful hand. Shelves line the walls filled with endless books, their titles focused upon every subject imaginable. Though many merian names fill these tomes, prominent Celestian writers of krokani and kephera descent are noticeably visible upon these shelves, as are other more obscure titles written by authors of diverse racial heritage. Many maps cover the walls, while among them, two grand banners flutter overhead to display the school's two emblems: the first depicting a pitcher and a broom sewn upon iridescent silks, and the second bearing a golden sword poised above a dragon's white skull. A little bell at the front of the classroom awaits use, ready to announce that class has begun. A statue of Talsi, an adolescent trill stands here, memorialising her noble spirit. A solstice stocking has been hung here. Diamond dusted and sparkling, a bouquet of coral ribbons hang mounted here and shine with dozens of prismatic glass bubbles. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  441. You see exits leading northeast and east.
  442.
  443. You nod your head emphatically.

  456.
  457. You have emoted: Gurashi squints a little, speaking even softer. "Thankfully it is nighttime - if we --" They jump at the sound of the bell, antennae bobbing and mandibles clicking furiously.
  458.
  459. Spangles of prismatic light dance across the bows of this ribbon bouquet, the light shimmering like dew upon the petals of a flower.
  460.
  461. Faintly buzzing, you say, "I-if we had arrived during the d-day, then there might be children here -learning- and we would not want to interrupt their precious times."
  462.
  463. You chitter at Tonatiuh with energetic clicks of your mandibles.
  464.
  465. Calioliahali's headfeathers ruffle suddenly at the sound of the bell, and she peeks toward the source, Tonatiuh.
  466.
  467. Tonatiuh murmurs softly to himself.
  468.
  469. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Hopefully the children do not wake up and think it is time for school..."

  483. The Dawn's Promise Animal Rescue.
  484. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. A polished counter of dragonbone set near the entrance of this converted warehouse provides a place to welcome visitors and examine the rescuees. Beyond the counter stretch numerous kennels, interspersed with smaller cages, the scents and sounds of their occupants wafting throughout the cavernous space. A fine layer of golden hair rests upon every surface, including the counter. Chew toys of every variety imaginable lie scattered throughout the open space between the kennels, and line the shelves, along with leashes and food bowls. A low gate seals off what appears to be a back hallway at the rear of the large chamber, presumably where offices or smaller playrooms might be. The occasional happy bark from that direction suggests that an outdoor play yard might also be found in that direction. There are 10 golden retrievers here. A statue of Kattia Martel stands here, memorialising her noble spirit. Sweeping dog hair from the floors, Kattia Martel minds the rescue while humming absently to herself. A solstice stocking has been hung here. Like holy fire called down from the heavens, streamers of red and white cut paper arcs overhead in prayerful evocation of St. Loathys Inalai. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.

  546.

  612. The Chapel of Two Saints.
  613. Beneath a shimmering dome of mosaiced dragonbone, this spectacular chapel has been built in honour to the two saints of Dragon's Grave: Saint Hamos the Dragonslayer, and Saint Anatolyi the Dawn's Promise. Tall stained glass windows display these holy men in shards of painted colour, with scenes of Hamos facing the looming dragon in the ruins of the Guiding Star Lighthouse amidst a corona of flame, as well as of the Dawn's Promise bearing nothing but a shattered pitcher and a broom as he defends a village from invaders. Shellworked alcoves allow for places of prayer and quiet devotion, while more public displays of worship may be witnessed at the pews laid before a magnificent altar of gleaming dragonbone. Many familiar faces from the Non-Merian Quarter enter and leave this place of faith, with its large doors open wide to invite all who wish to enter here. A statue of a silver dragon turtle with crimson wings stands here, memorialising her noble spirit. Emanating a heavenly light as it shines beneath the dome above, the ceremonial shortsword of the Dragonslayer rests upon an altar here. Glimmering gently, the unfurled glory of this samite banner heralds the celebration of Saintstivus from a nearby vantage point. Issuing no smoke nor heat but only light, rippling tongues of holy fire burn within the mouth of this tall brazier. Her gaze cast demurely downwards, Yuleshka stands clad in ceremonial robes of white. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  614. You see exits leading south and southwest.
  615.
  616. Calioliahali returns her full attention to you, nodding sharply.
  617.
  618. You close your eyes and inhale deeply, absorbing the scent of your surroundings.

  626. Kalliope flashes two fingers as she counts.
  627.
  628. Seriously, you say, "Dedicated both to the most recently discovered of Saints, dear Sir Anatolyi, and also to the kephera Praetorian Hamos - whom we are celebrating this months!"

  638.
  639. Turning to face the inner Chapel and offering a nod to Yuleshka, you say, "Both of thems made incredible sacrifices at the behests of the light, once upon a time. For it was only very recently that we got to learn of Saint Anatolyi's incredible feats, and what it is he did to earn him such an honorable title..."
  640.
  641. Kalliope hugs the clipboard to her chest.
  642.
  643. You have emoted: Gurashi trails off as people lavish Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff in attention. The mastiff certainly doesn't seem to mind, his great tail wagging and tongue lolled out as he continues to exist.
  644.
  645. You twitch your mandibles as you voice a soft, curious chirr.
  646.
  647. Queen Kethaera, of the Tide looks thoughtful and says, "Yes, someone must give a lecture on him soon."
  648.
  649. <-- and then I DC'd (: but came right back SIGH
  650.
  651. You cough softly.
  652.
  653. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Ah, ouwah - apologies - soul hiccuped, it seems."
  654.
  655. You suddenly let loose a chittering laugh.
  656.
  657. You make a beckoning motion to no-one in particular.
  658.
  659. Calioliahali gives you a friendly squeeze.
  660.
  661. "Tada!" Kalliope says to you with a proud expression on her face.
  662.
  663. You nod your head emphatically.
  664.
  665. You clear your throat.
  666.
  667. Like the golden eye of an angel, a brazier of holy fire brightens and brightens and brightens with gleaming and glittering motes of light.
  668.
  669. Straightening again, you say, "Once upon a times, Sir Anatolyi served as a Paladin for the Holy Celestine Empires! But when he retired peoples were still upset about the Nature Wars and sought out Anatolyi in his town, threatening him and all the innocent peoples that lived there!"
  670.
  671. With a twist of your wrist, you spin a cherrywood broom of lupin twigs with one hand as if it were a sword and prepare to wield it, and you imagine yourself like St. Anatolyi with only a broom to defend himself.
  672.
  673. Xiran's an exquisite ink brush stills.
  674.
  675. As they take hold of their broom, you say, "He fought them off, the would-be invaders, with naught but a broomstick and pitcher, just like this! It is for his valiant efforts that kept the peoples safely until reinforcements could arrive, that he was Sainted!"
  676.
  677. Calioliahali waves about a pennant of Dawn's Promise energetically.
  678.
  679. You nod your head sagely at Calioliahali.
  680.
  681. Chittering, you say to Calioliahali, "Yes - that is he - the Dawn's Promise, yes."
  682.
  683. Sterling Keeper Xiran Stormcrow, Winter Waldgeist thinks to herself: Hrm.
  684.
  685. Faintly buzzing, you say, "The one we mustn't forget - the reminder, that we must not forget."
  686.
  687. You have emoted: Gurashi dramatically points then towards the front of the Chapel, and the sword on display there. "But wait - is more!"
  688.
  689. Speaking louder but still reverently, you exclaim, "Dear Hamos! Praetorian Hamos! A kepheran male who left the Hives to serve the Light long ago, who overcame crabstrocities and the collapsing and refounding of the guilds - a hero who answered the call in a time when all seemed hopeless and challenged a creature a hundred times his size to protect the peoples and city he dearly loved!"
  690.
  691. A soft Celestian lilt to her words, Prior Yinuish La'Saet murmurs, "Blessed be Saint Hamos."
  692.
  693. PROBE SWORD
  694. Forged by the finest craftsmen in New Celest, this ceremonial shortsword has retired from battle to serve as a memorial relic of the Dragonslayer. A slender, triangular sword, this sharp blade is beaten from luminous white platinum metal brimming with argent light. Wrought into the golden hilt is the radiant figure of the Supernal Elohora, the Lady of the Eternal Light faithfully rendered with her arms outstretched as if to guide the weapon's course. Lightweight and agile, this weapon is designed to rest easily in a kephera's grip and ideal for close range; though it appears untouched and unused, when caught in the light, a glimpse of molten metal and scorchmarks can be seen on the blessed blade, though they vanish as quickly as they appear.
  695. It weighs about 10 pounds.
  696. It has the following aliases: shortsword, sword, weapon.
  697. You feel compelled to TOUCH the Dragonslayer's shortsword.
  698.
  699. Softer still, you say, "Ah... those who are of New Celest may bear witness to his miracle, if only briefly, should you choose to TOUCH his ceremonial SHORTSWORD. For those of other cities and communes, the sword grants Celestians a vision of brave Hamos in the moments before dear Lady Elohora's Light swept him up and took him to safety, away from the dragon's flames and madness at the times..."
  700.
  701. Two blue-ringed tentacles make their way upwards along the glass-stained windows, copper-hued suckers patting at the holy men displayed with gentle 'plops' as they release.
  702.
  703. A soft Celestian lilt to her words, Prior Yinuish La'Saet whispers, "Beautiful work, isn't it? I do love stained glass."
  704.
  705. Kethaera nods her head at Yinuish, showing her acceptance.
  706.
  707. You have emoted: Gurashi seems like they are about to say more, but instead they stand there in quiet reverence, observing the sword and those gathered and bowing their head politely. "They took lots of care to ensure the Chapels was built soundly, and well. To represents them."
  708.
  709. Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo says to Yinuish, "I have a fondness for stained-glass too..."
  710.
  711. Tonatiuh ponders the situation.
  712.
  713. Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo thinks to himself: What might have been.. could have been?
  714.
  715. You have emoted: Gurashi nods once curtly, then turns to face the group. "And that concludes our tour of the Dragon's Grave district, if anyone has any questions be-fore we make our way towards our final destinations...?" They bounce up and down twice. "Will be singing, then."
  716.
  717. Calioliahali nods her head a few times along with your words, smiling faintly at you before bowing her head in reverence as well.
  718.
  719. You twitch your mandibles as you voice a soft, curious chirr.
  720.
  721. Xiran glances up from a discreet pocket-sized notepad to you with interest.
  722.
  723. You eyes light up as you smile.
  724.
  725. Faintly buzzing, you say, "To the park, then - to our most wonderful of playgrounds."
  726.
  727. You chirp happily.
  728.
  729. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Where we shall hear the tale of dear Hamos!"
  730.
  731. Yinuish points boldly towards the horizon and declares in a proud tone, "Onward!"
  732.
  733. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  734.
  735. You chirp happily at Calioliahali.
  736.
  737. Calioliahali nods her head affirmatively.
  738.
  739. <-- final walkies
  740.
  741. In the park playground.
  742. Pale, watery light floats away from a shield shrine of Carakhan nearby. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. One or two light fluffy clouds drift lazily through the sky. Here in the north end of the grassy expanse, a section of New Celest is dedicated to both the young and the young at heart. Wood and metal structures are solidly screwed together to encourage physical activity, fun and games. Paths of thinning grass, worn down by the constant play of park-goers, wind through these structures; these desire trails mark the ground almost as beautifully as the park's manicured, attended details. Flowers, daisies mostly but also other indigenous blooms to the Oleanvir Valley, dot the landscape to provide more colour to this otherwise extremely green space. Three structures stand here at the playground, waiting for park-goers to use and enjoy. Surrounded by an aura of clarity and calm, a sculpture of the Loving Radiance stands here, captured in blissful repose. Like holy fire called down from the heavens, streamers of red and white cut paper arcs overhead in prayerful evocation of St. Loathys Inalai. Hung by a curved hook, a darkened lantern offers no light nor entertainment to all who wander here. An enchanting picnic blanket in dazzling sunset hues has been spread out thoughtfully on the ground here. Standing astutely, a lustrous penguin with a radiant rainbow bow tie surveys the surroundings.
  743. You see exits leading north, southeast, and southwest.
  744.
  745. You chirp happily.
  746.
  747. PROBE the PLAYGROUND
  748. Utterly green, the fields of grass here coalesce into a lovely playground riddled with beautiful flowers and free-standing playground equipment. Casting long shadows across the playground is a SLIDE, a SWINGSET and a ROUNDABOUT.
  749. It weighs about 1315 pounds.
  750. It has the following aliases: playground, ground.
  751.
  752. You put your fingers in your mouth and let out a high-pitched whistle, then hope for the best.
  753. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff trots in with head high.
  754.
  755. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  756.
  757. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Hammy..."
  758.
  759. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff obediently falls into line behind you.
  760.
  761. You have emoted: Gurashi makes a gesture towards the nearby blanket, carefully setting down a glass candle burning with holy fire upon the ground before Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff, who sniffs it once, then leaves it alone. "Please, make yourselves comfortable! And ah - if you have never been here before - have you ever seen our wonderful playground? You can swing on the SWINGSETS and spin on the ROUNDABOUTS and go down the SLIDE oh yes, oh yes! PROBING the PLAYGROUND equipment is always a goodly idea to helps figure it out..."
  762.
  763. <-- hands out a heckton of salad and cookies because it's a PICNIC
  764.
  765. Xiran's eyes sparkle with amusement.
  766.
  767. Eyes widening, Calioliahali Skydrifter says to you, "Ah, thank you."
  768.
  769. You nod your head sagely.
  770.
  771. You close your eyes and inhale deeply, absorbing the scent of your surroundings.
  772.
  773. You let loose a long breath from your lungs, exhaling slowly.
  774.
  775. A fresh spinach salad garnished with apple slices and pomegranate in hand, Xiran flits up for a better view of playground and performance.
  776.
  777. Yinuish tentatively sticks out her tongue and licks a Star of Celest cookie.
  778.
  779. You begin to wield a vibrant mandolin of songbirds and stars in your left hand.
  780. You begin to wield your weapon
  781.
  782. You have emoted: Gurashi nods to themselves, then to the group, smiling. "Please make yourselves comfy, and at home. Thank you again for joining us to-day, to hear this songs for Hamos, dear Saint Hamos."
  783.
  784. Faintly buzzing, you ask, "Is everybody comfortable and fed and dranked?"
  785.
  786. Calioliahali quietly begins to indulge in her salad, her attention still fully upon you as she settles upon the ground by the blanket.
  787.
  788. With an outstretched hand, Ulkhar runs and pulls upon the roundabout and causes it to spin! As the contraption creaks and warbles, slowly gaining speed, he hops on and holds on tight!
  789.
  790. Becoming a blur of metal as a cheerful, octopus roundabout spins and spins and spins, the curious contraption seems to come to life, its arms undulating with its riders clutching for dear as if their life depended on it.
  791.
  792. Creaking loudly as it continues to move, now at the height of its speed, the roundabout's arms ripple with its riders gripping tightly. Soon, it begins to slow, the momentum of its spin disappearing with each and every revolution.
  793.
  794. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Just like that!"
  795.
  796. You chitter at Ulkhar with energetic clicks of your mandibles.
  797.
  798. The roundabout continues for a few more spins as the last of its momentum burns; with each revolution, its arms lose the illusion of animation, slowly becoming fixed in place until the entire contraption grows still, its movements ending with a groaning creak.
  799.
  800. Ulkhar looks ill.
  801.
  802. Gripping onto one of the metallic tentacles of the roundabout, Tonatiuh runs and run and causes the contraption to spun much to the surprise and possible delight of the other rider. As it creaks and warbles, gaining more and more speed, Tonatiuh hops on and holds on tight!
  803.
  804. Becoming a blur of metal as a cheerful, octopus roundabout spins and spins and spins, the curious contraption seems to come to life, its arms undulating with its riders clutching for dear as if their life depended on it.
  805.
  806. Kalliope attempts to sit on an enchanting sunset picnic blanket, but she misses and lands with a bump.
  807.
  808. In a swift, fluid motion, Kalliope springs up from her hands to land crouched on her feet.
  809.
  810. Tonatiuh runs circles around the room with outstretched arms, happily screaming, "Wheee!"
  811.
  812. You suddenly let loose a chittering laugh.
  813.
  814. Yinuish laughs melodically at Ulkhar.
  815.
  816. Calioliahali quickly devours a fresh spinach salad garnished with apple slices and pomegranate.
  817.
  818. Creaking loudly as it continues to move, now at the height of its speed, the roundabout's arms ripple with its riders gripping tightly. Soon, it begins to slow, the momentum of its spin disappearing with each and every revolution.
  819.
  820. You have emoted: Gurashi offers their waterskin to Ulkhar, chittering. "Just look at something still for a while - you will be O-K."
  821.
  822. Letting go of one of the tentacular arms, Ulkhar hops off the roundabout and causes it to creak loudly.
  823.
  824. The roundabout continues for a few more spins as the last of its momentum burns; with each revolution, its arms lose the illusion of animation, slowly becoming fixed in place until the entire contraption grows still, its movements ending with a groaning creak.
  825.
  826. You chirp happily.
  827.
  828. Ulkhar wipes the back of his hand across his brow in relief.
  829.
  830. Ulkhar sits himself down.
  831.
  832. Tentacles flailing in all directions, Tonatiuh spins round and round and round till he spills off the roundabout like a beached whale.
  833.
  834. You suddenly let loose a chittering laugh.
  835.
  836. Chittering as they tune their mandolin, you ask Tonatiuh, "A-are you O-K?"
  837.
  838. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff sniffs Tonatiuh, trying to decipher just what that smell emanating from him is.
  839.
  840. Yinuish ponders Tonatiuh thoughtfully, looking him up and down.
  841.
  842. Quietly, Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo says, "Oof."
  843.
  844. Faintly buzzing, you say, "For some reasons you cannot helps but spin as fast as you possibly can - sometimes you DO fly off if are not careful ... it is so fun, though."
  845.
  846. Calioliahali's eyes widen as she watches people partake in the playground equipment, a faint grin curving her lips.
  847.
  848. Xiran lays a hand on the forehead of Tonatiuh, who glows with a sparkling silver light.
  849.
  850. You have emoted: Gurashi reaches down to offer Tonatiuh a hand, chittering quietly and furiously. "Do need help?"
  851.
  852. Yinuish pats Tonatiuh on a tentacle before turning to take a seat on the edge of the picnic blanket, sipping slowly at her drink.
  853.
  854. You chitter at Yinuish with energetic clicks of your mandibles.
  855.
  856. Tonatiuh takes your offered hand, pulling himself up as all eight muscular tentacles follow, sliding off the roundabout and onto the picnic blanket's edge.
  857.
  858. You chirp happily.
  859.
  860. Laughing like a child, Ulkhar raises a painted, clay drinking vessel upward as if offering St. Gathlyn a sip before downing more of the golden-pink drink.
  861.
  862. Faintly buzzing, you say, "O-K! O-K - sorry for the de-lay."
  863.
  864. Yinuish's eyes widen as she takes her first sip, twinkling pink for a moment before she dives back into the cup.
  865.
  866. You have emoted: Gurashi gazes warmly at those gathered before them before the kephera stands a little taller, their shoulders bunching up and sagging again as they let loose a deep breath. Then, they pull forth a vibrant mandolin of songbirds and stars, holding it before themselves within their primary hands comfortably. Then, their secondary hands lift and settle over the many strings, beginning to pluck away at the instrument to produce a bright and fast-paced tune.
  867.
  868. You have emoted: Gurashi begins to gently tap their foot against the ground, wings snapping open and closed behind them every so often as they continue to play, the tune repeating and becoming familiar as they cycle brightly through the notes. They lift their head to peek up at the small crowd, mandibles clicking against their face twice before they begin to sing.
  869.
  870. Calioliahali turns her steel blue gaze up toward you, her feathery ears twitching and swiveling attentively as you begin to play.
  871.
  872. A subtle change in hue flows across Tonatiuh's pearlescent skin after he sips his drink, the black-bordered rings flashing a curious pink in a slow outwards ripple.
  873.
  874. Keeping up with their fast-paced tune, you sing, "Born deep within the Hives below was no average kepheran male. A bravely heart that few did know, but today - we remember his tale."
  875.
  876. Lifting a single secondary hand to the air as they continue to play, you sing, "He left the Hives for New Celest, found friends in the peoples there. A Praetorian at the Light's behest, a defender both stoic and fair."
  877.
  878. You have emoted: Gurashi suddenly takes a step forward, their head bowing and wings flaring out again to make their appearance more menacing. The tune too changes, the same bright melody carried throughout but now with a more harrowing tone. "When monsters overran the streets t'was Hamos who answered the call! United with citizens, rose to the feat to fight 'strocities tooth and claw!"
  879.
  880. Tonatiuh leans his shoulder lightly against Yinuish, clinking clay cups before turning to listen.
  881.
  882. You have emoted: "The guilds fell and all seemed unsure. In the aftermaths hope had seemed frail," Gurashi sings as they stalk around the edge of the crowd, eventually passing by a cheerful, octopus roundabout, which they step onto and grasp with one of their two left hands. They push off with their foot, grip tightening upon the equipment as it carries them in a steady but not dizzying spin, causing their Mantle of Starlight to flutter behind them as they do so. "But Hamos instead looked to the future, and the Ecclesiarchy did soon prevail!"
  883.
  884. Golden shades radiate from your chest and your heart beats faster with newly-appeared determination.
  885.
  886. Yinuish gives a small smile, taking another small sip as she listens to you, fingers tapping against her leg.
  887.
  888. Continuing to turn slowly upon the carousel, you sing, "Time passed and guilds were all reborn. The Praetorian had earned his place. But these years were merely the calm between storms, and Time charges at Her own pace."
  889.
  890. You have emoted: As the carousel finishes making a second rotation, Gurashi hops down from it, continuing to play upon their instrument as the familiar tune once more dips from bright and hopeful to a daunting one. "Timequakes disrupted the peaces we felt and we learned of the tenth Vernal Soul. Was the dragons who came with revenge to be dealt in their hurry to achieve their goal."
  891.
  892. You see the following people here:
  893. Kethaera, Xiran, Ulkhar, Tonatiuh, Kalliope, Yinuish, Calioliahali, Machlana, Gurashi.
  894.
  895. In the air, Xiran bobs to your tune.
  896.
  897. Pale gold in hue, the wreath about your brow shimmers in a steady pattern, like unto a heartbeat in its gentle pulsation, crowning you in a flickering halo before settling still once more.
  898.
  899. Clenching their smaller hands into fists, you sing, "The first of the dragons were kept at bay by the Broom of the Dawn's Promised Saint." They wheel around to point at the nearest gathered individual, bulbous eyes widening. "But then came a foe to New Celest's dismay - a black dragon of terror and taint!"
  900.
  901. Turning to point dramatically in the directions across the city as they sing, you sing, "First it laid waste to the lighthouse, and then the great Church of Celest." The kephera heaves a mighty, buzzing sigh as they turn in place to sing the group. "So many lives lost in a second at most, all fighting to protect what was left!"
  902.
  903. Excited children try to turn a dual-themed shadowplay lantern round and round, but their excitement turns to frustration as they realise that the lantern must be lit and they do not have a firesource.
  904.
  905. You have emoted: Gurashi then turns away from those gathered and begins to stalk towards the largest component of the playground - the dragon-shaped structure that houses the slide. Mandibles clicking against their face, the kephera continues to hold their instrument and play, but they reach down to their belt and pull out a wooden training katana with their right primary hand, holding the wooden blade aloft and pointing it up at the mouth of the faux beast, their tune turning dire.
  906.
  907. You begin to wield a wooden training katana in your hands.
  908.
  909. Calioliahali's feathery ears flatten against her head as she listens to your song, her eyes widening, enraptured.
  910.
  911. Their expression and tone uncharacteristically serious, you sing, "While survivors fled amidst the din, the kephera's mind was made. T'was a fight he knew he'd never win, but still he drew his blade."
  912.
  913. For a moment, a glass candle burning with holy fire within Kethaera's hand flares even brighter and paints her in light-cast images of the Saints, their lives, and their trials.
  914.
  915. You have emoted: With all the agility and nimbleness of a bard, Gurashi scales up the slide, three of their hands focused on continuing their melody while their fourth continues to brandish a wooden training katana before them, approaching the dragon head-shaped apex of the playground equipment. "Though the Light was besieged by dragonfire, not once did brave Hamos e'er stop. To the Athenaeum he sought to draw their ire, when he climbed to the very top!!"
  916.
  917. You have emoted: The kephera then grabs hold of the top of the slide and turns to clamber atop it, finding a solid footing and turning around to face the gathered crowd, gaze sweeping over each of your faces. "Will never know what crossed his mind when he leapt with his weapon in hand," Gurashi sings brightly, their wide-eyes glittery in the morning light. "This quiet, stoic male of the kepheran kind to make such a courageous stand."
  918.
  919. Cutting the air with their katana, you sing, "Then gone! In a flash! In a fiery blaze! Vanished were both Hamos and the fiend!"
  920.
  921. Raising their blade upwards again, you sing, "His bravery not unseen by Elohora's gaze, and the Lady herself intervened!"
  922.
  923. Sunlight billows across the realm, revealing the full glory of the majestic sun's luminous presence as he climbs higher into the sky.
  924.
  925. You have emoted: All at once, the music stops, and Gurashi chitters wildly to themselves as they turn the focus of all their limbs to ensuring they do not plummet from the playground unexpectedly. Gurashi turns upon the top of the equipment, adjusting their stance and stepping forward onto the slide proper. As they do, they begin to descend in a flourishing swoop, their Mantle billowing behind them as they rapidly approach the gathering, their now a Capella tune carrying on. "When sword met scale the pair disappeared and Saint Hamos was born into the Light!"
  926.
  927. The Mantle of Starlight flows gently against your form, twinkling stars shifting across its surface as the starry infinity continues its eternal motion.
  928.
  929. You have emoted: Gurashi jumps from the slide just as they arrive at the bottom, hitting the dirt with a sound thud and a sweep of their weapon as they cry out with weapon raised: "The remaining dragons had fled in their fear they'd succumb in a similar fight!"
  930.
  931. Xiran lightly shields her gaze as Father Sun grants the wooden training katana you hefts a blazing cast.
  932.
  933. You have emoted: Having climbed and descended again from atop the towering playground equipment, Gurashi is left momentarily breathless, their wooden katana still raised before them as they gaze off beyond the gathering, attention drawn to the distant steeple that is the top of the Lodestar Athenaeum. They open their beak, and a tiny squawk of a sound comes out instead of words, causing them to give pause, sword-arm trembling.
  934.
  935. You think to yourself: *Their mind, already flooded with brilliant pastel hues, blooms hues of gold and saffron, now filled with elation, gratitude, grief: "Courage..."*.
  936.
  937. You have emoted: Gurashi takes a deep, trembling breath, composing themselves as they make note of the quiet. Slowly, their hands begin to pluck at the strings of their mandolin, resuming the same bright melody they had started with, albeit softer. With reverence they turn to face those gathered, their sword arm lowering but not releasing a wooden training katana, the blade angled towards the ground.
  938.
  939. Somberly, you sing, "That day Saint Hamos gave his life is one we must never forget." They glance up at the Athenaeum in the distance once more, "Sometimes when faced with terrible strife, we must be brave to handle the threat."
  940.
  941. Returning to look towards the crowd, you sing, "What will you give when the moment arises? When danger is at your front door?"
  942.
  943. Sincerely, their sword arm rising and crossing over their heart and instrument, you sing, "Would you be Brave and stay? Pay the ultimate prices, with a Dragonslayer's heart at your core?"
  944.
  945. You have emoted: Gurashi bows their head then, their mandolin silent as their final words are presented less like a tune and more like a prayer. "Thank you, dear Hamos - the bravely Saint Hamos, for the sacrifices you have made."
  946.
  947. Expression brightening as they gaze fondly towards the gathering, you sing, "In helping us have the courage to know, with Love and Light we can be saved."
  948.
  949. Carefully reaching into the interior of a lantern, you light the candle at its base and bring the entire object to life in a bold display of shadow and flame.
  950.
  951. With a flick of your index finger, you cause a dual-themed shadowplay lantern to spin and spin and spin, the movement of shadows upon its paper faces taking on the appearance of a moving story.
  952.
  953. Across the face of the paper lantern, you witness the scene of a kepheran figure racing across the streets of New Celest.
  954.
  955. Above them looms a mighty dragon, whose breath exhales upon the city in tremendous force, the shadowplay detailing devastation and destruction almighty.
  956.
  957. Then the scene changes, the kephera, sword in hand, scaling the shadowy outline of the Lodestar Athenaeum, races to its pinnacle to fight the dragon singlehandedly.
  958.
  959. The kephera leaps. Soaring toward the flying dragon, striking with a sword, as shadow overtakes the entire lamp for but a brief moment, resolving ultimately as the turning begins to slow into a new shape.
  960.
  961. The lantern comes to a complete stop, the shadows finally solidifying into the visage of a benevolent kephera that stares back with large, compounded eyes.
  962.
  963. You have emoted: Some of Gurashi's enthusiasm fades as the song reaches its conclusion, and the kephera begins to anxiously chitter, mandibles clicking against their face. "Many thank yous," They chirp quietly to the gathering as their tune reaches its conclusion, their katana still held in their other hand as their left takes their mandolin by the neck, bowing deeply with instrument and weapons at their sides. "For everything! For coming - for listening! But especially, thank you to Mister Saint Hamos! M-may we always remember!"
  964.
  965. The black-bordered rings on Tonatiuh's pearlescent skin flash brightly.
  966. The black-bordered rings on Tonatiuh's pearlescent skin flash brightly.
  967. The black-bordered rings on Tonatiuh's pearlescent skin flash brightly.
  968.
  969. Tonatiuh congratulates you with some wild clapping.
  970.
  971. Calioliahali's headfeathers ruffle as your song comes to an end, and then she slowly rises from the picnic blanket, gaze lingering upon the shadow-lantern's show before offering a solid round of applause toward the kephera.
  972.
  973. Kethaera claps her hands together merrily.
  974.
  975. As the shadowplay lantern's candle wick is spent, the flame illuminating the shadows across its face is suddenly snuffed out and the decoration is plunged into darkness once more.
  976.
  977. You carapace turns a bright shade of red as you blush.
  978.
  979. A soft Celestian lilt to her words, Prior Yinuish La'Saet says, "To Saint Hamos!"
  980.
  981. Tonatiuh gulps down a mighty swig from a painted, clay drinking vessel, his lips smacking from the tart and sweet flavours.
  982.
  983. A pious merian pops a seashell candy in her mouth and crunches down, an expression of blissful happiness crossing her face.
  984.
  985. Xiran brings her hands together for your performance.
  986.
  987. Ulkhar pumps his fists in the air to rally the troops.
  988.
  989. You have emoted: Gurashi quietly tucks away their katana where it will do no harm, chittering softly at those still gathered. "Thank you, many thank yous."
  990.
  991. Kalliope does a wild spin, glittering tailcoat flaring out around her as she casts of rays and sparkles and tittering giggles of post-performance delight.
  992.
  993. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Oh, ouwah."
  994.
  995. Tonatiuh glances enviously towards the pious merian.
  996.
  997. You give a resplendent skylantern of the Dragonslayer to Queen Kethaera, of the Tide. xhowever many people there were
  998.
  999. As Tonatiuh releases a resplendent skylantern of the Dragonslayer into the air, it slowly floats upon the breeze, drifting upward.
  1000.
1001. You nod your head emphatically.
  1002.
1003. Paper sword held high, a skylantern of the Dragonslayer charges onward towards a new adventure.
  1004.
1005. Yinuish winks conspiratorially at Tonatiuh.
  1006.
  1007. "Ahah!" Tonatiuh exclaims triumphantly.
  1008.
1009. Brightening, you ask, "I appreciates you all, I do. Thank you for coming... ah - does anyone have any questions, maybe...?"
  1010.
1011. Tonatiuh gives Yinuish a peck on the cheek.
  1012.
1013. Tonatiuh peels off the paper wrapping from a scrumptious candied seashell and eagerly plops it into his mouth, sucking on it cheerfully. After a moment his expression ranges from enjoyment to pleasant surprise.
  1014.
1015. Tonatiuh gives a strange look of shock before spitting a small, pale pearl into his hand. Barely a moment passes before the pearl dissipates into the air.
1016. A shimmering image of a deva bursts into view, singing radiantly.
1017. The shimmering image of a deva exclaims, "Know that the Majesty of the Dawn looks upon you with favour this day!"
  1018.
1019. Tonatiuh murmurs softly to himself.
  1020.
1021. Faintly buzzing, you say, "I am afraid I must rest my soul, soonly - b-but am glad could enlighten some peoples to dear Hamos's tale - is a goodly one, yes. Meaningful to most - kephera especially..."
  1022.
1023. As a resplendent skylantern of the Dragonslayer drifts away, it grows smaller and smaller on the horizon until you see naught but a speck of light floating in the distance.
  1024.
1025. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff pants like a dog.
  1026.
1027. Sultan Tonatiuh al-Saaoud, Oracle in Indigo says to you, "A beautiful song, thank you."
  1028.
1029. You have emoted: Gurashi watches the many lanterns drifting overhead and disappearing into the sky above, their head canted to the side, antennae bobbing.
  1030.
1031. A soft Celestian lilt to her words, Prior Yinuish La'Saet says to you, "No one could have done it greater justice, Herald."
  1032.
1033. Kalliope uses her long fingernails to scratch behind Ham's ears.
  1034.
1035. Faintly buzzing, you say to Tonatiuh, "Ouwah - m-many thank yous. Perhaps I will perform it again on the stage..."
  1036.
1037. Ham, the tawny Nyalian mastiff leans on Kalliope seeking consolation.
  1038.
1039. Carapace flushing, you say to Yinuish, "T-thank you for the idea! Had I not had the playground to sings at ..."
  1040.
1041. Calioliahali's gaze remains skyward for a time, watching the lanterns fade from view before she returns her full attention to you, nodding sharply.
  1042.
1043. Kethaera nods her head at you.
  1044.
1045. Faintly buzzing, you say, "It might have been less ..."
  1046.
1047. You have emoted: Gurashi waves their secondary hands helplessly, then pretends to slice nothing with an imaginary sword.
  1048.
1049. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Less perform-y maybe."
  1050.
1051. Your shoulders bunch as you let out a short, buzzing giggle.
  1052.
1053. Tonatiuh's tentacles curl, several of the suckers gripping Gurashi's arm fondly before releasing with a soft 'plop'.
  1054.
  1055. You sniffle softly.
  1056.

1117. A look of understanding crossing her features, Calioliahali nods her head slowly.
  1118.
1119. A cloud of translucent figures trails after Xiran as she leaves to the southeast, the incomprehensible whispers finally fading.
  1120.
1121. Calioliahali's left wing unfurls briefly to strike its utmost tip to her forehead in a sharp salute to those gathered.
