- Black Holes
- An essay by Olivia ########, with editing by Lisa ########
- What is a black hole?
- A black hole is an object that's produced when large stars die. (footnote: The suspected size needed for a star to become a black hole is a density of about 20 times the mass of our sun.) How exactly are they formed? When a large star explodes and is above the critical density to turn into a neutron star, it forms a supernova. This cloud of base materials collapses into a superdense space, even denser than a neutron star that not even light can escape from.
