• PERSONALITY:
Sunghyun has tried his hardest to go about with a happy exterior, although his insides are breaking apart. He smiles at everyone, despite their rude comments and remarks. He gives away too many second chances for those who hated against his looks. He is optimistic towards those who caused his self-hatred and depression. Although he may seem happy on the outside, on the inside, thoughts do deeply get to him. He tries to be confident and ignore the insults, but they just became natural. Luckily, he has friends who back him up now, but it happened to make him feel worse in high school. But, he still tries to make others happy around him. He hopes that if he makes everyone else smiley around him, he might be able to feel happy as well - and that has partly worked. His jealous streak for seventeen grew from the minute he saw the music videos and the fancams and the photos, but he's only been jealous of seventeen and models like them. He pushes himself too much, and that puts a lot of mental strain on himself, leading to his stress levels being higher than most. He's lucky to have supportive friends and family like he does, or he doesn't know where he'd at this moment in time, seeing as he views himself as horrific compared to seventeen.
• BACKGROUND:
Sunghyun never really fitted into Korean beauty standards, and he hated the way he looked though because others teased him for it, therefore he became depressed. His parents would always tell him that it was beauty on the inside that counts, but he knew it was false hope. All the kids would tease him for his facial features, and any disproportional body parts of his. Anything that made him look less like the ideal figure would be discriminated against. He hated it with a passion. He would hide away in the toilets as often as possible to avoid the comments, and when he went into the classroom, the teacher wouldn't properly talk to him because they wanted to focus on the lesson rather than student problems. Once he graduated, he thought that he might find more open-minded friends, but that idea slightly flopped. He did gain more self confidence, until his friend introduced him to seventeen. He saw their looks, and at how effortlessly stunning they were, and his self esteem dropped into the negatives like they were in high school. He remembered all the times where he wouldn't eat to slim down his cheeks, and try to work out to build some sort of muscle, but they never worked, and then he saw their bodies and at how they looked strong and slim and handsome. He envied them ever since.

• SLIP: at first it was his roommate showing them the 'family photo' of seventeen and one of their music videos, and then his roommate having Jun as a bias and Jeonghan as a bias wrecker, so he would show Sunghyun photos of the two to show them their handsomeness, not actually knowing how jealous he was actually becoming of them.
• FRIENDS: They all disagree with him getting plastic surgery, saying that someone will soon love him for what's on the inside rather than what's on the outside.

His friend threatened to kick him out of the apartment, and his parents argued a lot with him, but after over a decade of bullying, he really didn't care about their opinions. It's what he wanted.
• AFTER EFFECT:
Friends: his roommate gave him a massive hug when Sunghyun walked through the door, and began crying. He was annoyed at Sunghyun, but he knew that he wouldn't have to hate himself anymore and he could live a happy life. His friends' emotions were mixed, and his roommate didn't kick him out.
Family: they were disappointed that he went through with the process, but they couldn't disown him for something he really wanted to change. They became slightly more distant, but when they did communicate, his parents would give him lots of support
Love Interest: he didn't know Sunghyun that much before, but he fell for his new look and they began dating, then Sunghyun told him the truth. [love interest] hugged him and kept on telling him that he was sorry for being rude before, and that his personality is such a beautiful trait of his that he should've used to his advantage.

No one is the definition of perfect, no matter how much you tell yourself to believe it. Seventeen have their flaws, it's what makes them human. You have your flaws, it's what makes you human. It's just learning to accept your flaws and brush away any one who tries to make you feel insecure (they're most likely insecure themselves). You are beautiful. You are amazing. There's bound to be at least one person in the world who can see through your imperfections to see the true you, and you will find your way to them.
