  1. None of these beds were designed for sharing, but Lup makes it work. A bare leg over Barry's thighs, arms squished between his gut and her own torso with just enough wriggle room for her fingers to card through his chest hair.
  2.
  3. It's been a long time since she's felt like this. She's not sure if she even remembers the name for it anymore. Akin to comfortable, relaxed. Similar to enchanted. The bed, and her whole world, feels very, very small.
  4.
  5. "Let's play twenty questions." She starts, breaking their minutes-long silence. There's a tenderness to her voice she didn't anticipate, something caused by more than just having her mouth on him not long ago. "I'll go first. Were you a virgin?"
  6.
  7. Barry squints at her, tired and a little suspicious, maybe. Without his glasses, /all/ of his expressions are filtered through squints, so Lup lets it slide.
  8.
  9. "Everyone's, uh. Everybody is a virgin up until a point, Lup." Crinkled eyes flick anywhere but towards hers. His palm, large and warm, stays flat on the small of her back, but she feels it tense a little.
  10.
  11. She quirks her lips, too tired to express her fondness with anything more dramatic. "Don't mess with me. Was tonight your first time with someone, Bar?"
  12.
  13. Barry returns her smile. "Wouldn't it be my turn to ask a question now?"
  14.
  15. "Yes. Great, that was yours."
  16.
  17. His smile blooms into a grin that seems to work down his whole body as he wriggles to hide his face in her neck. "Lu-uup…"
  18.
  19. She likes it when he makes her name sound like two syllables, she decides. When there's a giggle, or a breathy moan in between.
  20.
  21. Warm breath pools on her collarbone. She feels him lick his lip. "Would you laugh if I said it was?"
  22.
  23. "Maybe." She admits, craning her neck to kiss that spot behind his ear that they only just discovered was sensitive. "But only because I'd be happy. That you… y'know. Felt good enough, to. With me."
  24.
  25. Barry makes a small sound she can't quite parse, and shifts again so she can /feel/ the burning heat on his cheeks. "S'not my turn, but, can I ask another question?"
  26.
  27. "You just did."
  28.
  29. The hand on her back slaps her feather-gently, and she's wriggled by the jolt of sudden laughter in his belly.
  30.
  31. "Is it too soon to say I love you, do you think?"
  32.
  33. And Lup considers it; considers how those words have made her feel in the past. What something as mortal as love could mean, to people who have outrun death at so many turns. How comfortable she feels, on a too-small bunk bed alone in a ship that's alone in space. How he enchants her so wholly, without any magic, that she forgets all that.
  34.
  35. Lup presses a kiss to the top of his head, and doesn't move from that spot. "Y'know, I don't think I care."
