Platforming

He raced to the lever and used all his weight to yank it down.  There was a loud creaking sound, and suddenly platforms floated out from the wall! [...] Mickey leaped from platform to platform, each one retracting just as his feet left it. He reached the top, but where was the damsel? He had to find her fast before the platform he stood on snapped back into the wall.

"Yoo-hoo!"
Mickey turned and realized he'd scaled the wrong wall! The damsel waved from a balcony on the other side of the cavernous hall. It was a long way across--and an even longer way down. [...] The damsel giggled and clasped her hands together. Puffy toon hearts floated around her. She giggled again and the hearts headed straight for Mickey.
Would it work? there was no time to think it over. The platform under his feet shuddered and then slid back into the wall. Just before it vanished completely, Mickey launched himself into the air, somersaulting toward the closest heart. "Yes!" Mickey cheered. He sat astride the heart and guided it back to the damsel.
