  1. Pseudo-Evolution
  2. Gamefreak is a fickle entity, and some Pokémon just don't seem to have won their favor. Farfetch'd, Dunsparce, Mawile - many single stage Pokémon seem to be begging for rejiggered stats, an evolution, or some sort of buff to make them more useable. Pseudo-Evolution is a mechanic for helping out these Pokémon species and giving them a buff similar to what most species would get from an Evolution. You can introduce a Pseudo-Evolution at a certain level like with most Evolutions, make it a direct result of roleplaying, or even come up with Elemental Stone triggers or more esoteric methods. Pseudo-Evolution is, of course, not recommended for all single stage Pokémon, as a great number of them do just fine on their own.

  4. When applying a Pseudo-Evolution:
  5. * Add a total of 12 points to the Pokémon's Base Stats. These may be distributed however you like, but one easy method is to add 4 to the Pokémon's HP Stat, 4 to Attack or Special Attack, and distribute the remaining 4 points between their defenses or speed based on what the Pokémon is built for.
  6. * Increase all Movement Capabilities by 1 or 2.
  7. * Increase Power and/or Intelligence if appropriate.
  8. * Distribute a total of three Skill Rank Ups among its Skills.
  9. * Apply changes to Type, Ability, or Moveset as you deem fit. For example, a Farfetch'd may become Fighting/Flying or Dunsparce could become either Normal/Ground or Normal/Flying depending on whether it spent more time burrowing or trying to use its underdeveloped wings.
